Hey Ed, is it true that lukaku was in london today to have talks with arsenal? {Ed002's Note - Lukaku's agent and Anderlecht's general manager have been in London to talk to Chelsea. I assume they will talk with other interested parties as well - whoever they might be.}

If Chelsea let Alex join R.Madrid would they be more willing to sell Di Maria to us? {Ed002's Note - Such discussions have not taken place yet but perhaps they will soon.}

ED, a random question here but it seems florent malouda is staying. he seems to be a favourite at cfc as they always get him to do the interveiws on the official website. {Ed002's Note - The interviews for the official site are dealt with in the same way as press interviews and certain players are happier than others to do them. Malouda is an intelligent guy who cames across very well in interviews and is talkative. As such he is one of the most requested by the press.}

Ed Anything about Cheick Tiote and Thibaut Courtois? Just heard from a few websites that Chelsea are planning a big money bid for Tiote and that Thibaut Courtois will be our first signing {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of Tiote. Courtois will join but will stay with Genk on loan for at least one year.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is there anything similar happening with de bruyne or is that deal dead? {Ed018's Note - i dont think its dead but last i heard was that de bruyne didnt want to be loaned}

Agree0 Disagree0

So are we still interested in bringing him to the bridge, i would let him take malouda or zhirkov's place on the left side. {Ed002's Note - There is interest in de Bruyne but the player is not keen on not having first team football nor being loaned out - perhaps one for next season unless he changes his mind.}

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 21:24:53
Are AC swapping Cassano For Montolivo of fiorentina ED002? {Ed002's Note - Much depends on some additional money changing hands and, strangely, Aquilani arriving I am told.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So who will be getting aquilani ? i hope its milan, he would be the ideal replacement for pirlo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 if Milan get aquilani will they continue to pursue ganso? Thanks {Ed002's Note - I suspect Aquilani will go to Fiorentina. The problem that Milan have is quota's for no-EU players.}

Agree0 Disagree0

ED018 have you heard anything on any transfers mate {Ed018's Note - just the things discussed today, i could speculate a bit more but i dont want to be wrong.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Come on mate just voice your opinion if it's wrong it's wrong : )

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah clearly none of us mind as long as it gives some idea as to where we are at. {Ed018's Note - lets see what happens by mid next week}

Chelsea on the verge of signing lvaro Pereira?

Eds - Who he? {Ed018's Note - Alvaro Pereira is Porto's left back, i assume thats who you are talking about}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 21:50:17
ED, not really a transfer question, more of a what if?
Are Chelsea in any sort of debt, or has roman totally paid them off.Also if we were to sign aguero and let's just say on 180k per week would Terry and pampered wages go up as, I'm not sure if it is true but they both have written in there contracts that they must be highest earners at the club. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have no debt to speak of. I don't know the provisions of individual contracts but I thought such issues had now been removed.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 19:52:30
What is happening with Alex ED002 Bayern signed Boateng i heard Real Madrid have an interest in the player? {Ed002's Note - Alex was seemingly an option if Bayern could not strike a deal with Manchester City. Real Madrid is an option and quite a good option right now.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Did I not hear though that both Ramos ans Pepe have signed new deals - so I'd hope that would diminish their need to take our Alex

Agree0 Disagree0

Could this help in any case for a deal with Di Maria Alex plus cash? {Ed002's Note - Yes, it is possible.}

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 20:56:39
Ed what is next in the Modic saga? His contract does not have a buy out clause which in itelf is naive and silly. What can he do? {Ed018's Note - chelsea will have to come back with a better offer, i still think at some point tottenham will sell, it wont help them to keep an unhappy player}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I am not he is worth more than £25m though.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 19:53:50
Anyone knows the budget available for transfers? {Ed018's Note - i doubt theres a set number}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 20:01:10
Ed shall we assume Neymar is a dead end? {Ed002's Note - Not just yet.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Yes, I think it ud be fair to say that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Two options for the same position? Neymar and Di Maria?

Agree0 Disagree0

This is as i understand the situation, if santos sell ganso they will be able to keep neymar, if they don't they will be pretty much forced to sell neymar. real madrid seem to be in pole position, but if they were to go for tevez or aguero they would not be able to afford him aswell.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 19:45:50
Ed do you rate Di Maria? He would fill well the left side in front of Cole {Ed002's Note - He is a good player and a possible option. We'll see what happens.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Class player, would love him at the bridge

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 19:40:27
i think we could play ryan bertrand on the wing as he is fast strong and a good crosser of the ball and maybe even play josh mceachran in the middle

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I think Aanholt has the edge over bertrand, but I have to agree with you, Bertrand could quite easily play in that position and do more than a good job.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think they are both good and i think that bertrand is alot like cole

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 19:24:25
ed dou you think we will have made any signings by august 15th? {Ed002's Note - I have absolutely no idea - timings are completely irrelevant and not worth guessing at.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 19:24:13
To be honest I would be happy with Di Maria, Aguero, Modric, De Rossi and a right back. Is it too much to ask?

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Not at all, I think they would be excellent signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know there is no set budget, but £100m+ (what those players in total would cost) seems a lot. I would be more than happy with these signings, though.. maybe 1 too many possibly? Thinking about how the squad will gel, as these players would not be the sort to settle for the bench. Wouldn't want to do a Man City.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 19:10:58
Ed002 you are saying Man Utd are looking to pastore, and there is a chance they will bid for modric, does this mean their talks about sneijder have stalled? If not, what is the reason? personally i thought sneijder was a done deal for them. and where does all this leave chelsea? thanks. {Ed002's Note - I did not say that. I said they may look to Pastore. I don't see anything impacting Chelsea.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I apologize for qouting you wrong then. But since they "may" look to pastore, whats going on with sneijder then? {Ed002's Note - Clubs always look to having options. Pastore is five years younger than Sneijder and would cost much less in salary. I see him as a potential option for Manchester United to look at.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah thank you. I think i get it now, they are considering their options before signing someone, i suppose that makes good sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 19:03:52
ED002 any idea how talks went with anderlecht's reps today?

Also any other movements we shoudl be aware of will we sign anyone before the tour of Asia? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of anything new right now.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

15 Jul 2011 18:51:26
Hey Ed's, first time posting. I've kept up with the site for awhile and I thank you for the information you make available (Even the speculation). Having said that, do you see Chelsea making a strong push for Aguero and Pastore? I would be more than happy if we snagged both of these players Thanks Ed {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have made offers for both players. The issue surrounding Aguero is finding an acceptable salary package. The issue with Pastore is the difficultly in dealing with Palermo.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed002 - apologies if ive missed this a while back, im relatively new, and do now want you to repeat yourself, but what is the difficulty in dealing with Palermo, is it money, third parties etc. Thanks {Ed002's Note - Palermo is a difficult club to deal with (to say the least) and money is not something they are short of. Transfers will be on, then off, then the fee will change, then they won't wish to sell to club x, then they will want x% of any sales etc..}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ed

Did chelsea ever make a bid for franck ribery in the past ed002.......... {Ed002's Note - I don't believe so.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 18:25:08
ed how much is di maria worth? {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid will be looking for about 30M euros.}

ED002 what do make of this Pastore saga now it is emerging he wont play in Seria A do you think we will raise our bid ? {Ed002's Note - I see no reason to increase the offer but I would not be surprised to see an offer from Manchester United come in now.}

Do you know how much we offered was it the £45 mil they wanted, Also why is this if they are supposedly buying Sneijder has the move took a turn?

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure of the exact figure of the offer but it was certainly a large number. As for Sneijder, I think Manchester United may look to Pastore.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No problem there. Between us and mu he will choose us because......Aguero will be there

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 17:31:11
Have Chelsea ever shown an interest in bringing Robben back to the bridge since he left? Also if you have any information on it, were we Daniel Alves's first choice when he was leaving Sevilla and we couldn't agree terms with him or Sevilla? or were Barcelona his first choice during our interest? thanks if you can shed light on these for me eds {Ed002's Note - There is no interest in Robben. Chelsea had enquired a year or perhaps two before Alves had moved from Savilla but the bids were deemed derisory and that was the end of the matter. I don't recall what Sevilla were looking for but I recall it was a lot.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 17:21:56
Ed I need your honest opinion. Do you think we are going to have some good signings coming in? I am not asking who. {Ed002's Note - Sure.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

15 Jul 2011 17:19:31
Any news on Kalas? signed last summer then spent the year on loan, is he part of the plans or will he be loaned for another 3 years then sold for a joke of a fee like mancienne? {Ed002's Note - Sorry you are so disappointed in the club, and ill informed. Kalas returned to Chelsea in January and appeared for the reserves. He may well go out on loan this year but no decisions have yet been taken.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

His wages could be a problem but thats down to abromovich, if tevez was to go anywhere in england its chelsea, from stories about missing his wife she might like the idea of moving to london, it could come off. {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over Tevez moving to Chelsea.}

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 17:12:46
ED002 what do make of this Pastore saga now it is emerging he wont play in Seria A do you think we will raise our bid ? {Ed002's Note - I see no reason to increase the offer but I would not be surprised to see an offer from Manchester United come in now.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 17:04:46
Ed can yu share any light on Tevez's situation? Given that the transfer windows in Brazil closes in 5 days what would happen if Tevez does not go to Corinthians? {Ed002's Note - The transfer window does not close for international transfers. Tevez may well go to Italy or Spain in any case.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 16:57:06
Highly-rated playmaker Javier Pastore is unlikely to ply his trade in Serie A next season, according to Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini. Does this mean that our bid is succesfull and he will be playing at stamford bridge next year Ed? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

15 Jul 2011 16:24:20
I am an admirer of Torres and think he will come good next season but this doesn't change the fact signing him will possibly force one of the best strikers in the world out of our club. Drogba when his confidence is high will score past anybody or at least get an assist, He clearly loves the club as he demonstrates when he gets frustrated when we lose, for example when barcelona went through at Stamford Bridge and he missed the start of the next champions league. As a fan i reacted a lot worse than drogba and i for one was glad to see that kind of passion. I hope he decides to stay. I understand it is his decision from what the EDs have told us in posts. Thanks for keeping us up to date with dealings EDs. Sorry some people give you grief

Believable0 Unbelievable1

The Drog is a legend however if he wished to have his swansong in France I don't believe Cfc would stand in his way , but the decision is his. {Ed002's Note - Correct, and I expect he will leave.}

15 Jul 2011 16:00:09
ED is it true lukaku, de Byrne and courbois GK will be signing today {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

ed do u think lukaku will be travelling to asia this week to see the sights {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

15 Jul 2011 14:43:38
last season CHELSEA started the season on high but after the reckless sacking of WILKINS our season turned upside down. other than this we could really kept the cup but lampard's injury loss of form of DROGBA AND ESSIEN cost us the cup. next season we would need a midfeider a striker and a back in place of bosingwa .but for champions league we would need major big signings atieast 6 of them. in my view NEYMAR, GANSO, MODRIC, LUKAKU, MAICON[even though he is old] ROLANDO-center half. ED you're doing a fine job , keep it up and don't take my opinion personally. THANKS

Believable1 Unbelievable5

15 Jul 2011 14:10:16
Right Aguero has stated he wouldn't be against moving to England so can we please just go for it for once Out of all our targets I believe he's the best both ability wise and in terms of adapting into our current squad. It would be a disaster if Man City got him

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Chelsea should stop draggin their feet regardin transfer issues n get us some world class playas cos d clock is tickin

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree. Should go for it. Aguero has a good attitude, he is young and extremely talented.

Agree0 Disagree0

And he is Spanish speaking and has played upfront with Torres before too..it all fits

Agree0 Disagree0

But don't worry, soon we'll get a statement where we admit to having no interest in him...... ;/

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 13:43:48
In the last four years we have been linked with Franck ribbery but this year not a word. Is it because he is maybe not young enough or what. Good wide player with speed n flair, not as hood as Robben but that's long shot getting him, great news bout Josh mc and Ryan Bertrand signing contracts.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

15 Jul 2011 13:35:57
ed what is the situation with pastore, i know he said he would like to stay in italy but is he still a target for us ? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have been asked if they would like to submit a further bid for the player. I suspect Palermo are looking for more money. The other bids for the player included players in part exchange or part ownership deals. The only bid in Italy was from Roma although Inter may be interested if Sneijder leaves.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well if they asked us to make another bid it must mean that the player is willing to move to Stamford Bridge? {Ed002's Note - He was presented with a number of options to mull over so a move to England may not be out of the question.}

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 13:33:45
Any news on Di Mari or De Rossi ED002 {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 13:06:28
Ed..Re below do you know who they are and how realistic do you judge them to be?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 12:38:06
Ed .It seems as if the most likely signings currently are the young Belgian trio.
Do we still have plans to sign any experienced world class players who would be ready for 1st team action other than Modric?
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 12:19:14
ED002 with porto signing the young santos right back yesterday And with Chelsea in need of a right back is the current porto right back alvaro pereira a option? {Ed002's Note - Whilst there may be interest he is effectively a left sided player.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought fucile was theyre right back

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 11:46:53
Will Lakaku be loaned if he is bought ED002? We sure do have a lot of strikers? {Ed002's Note - At least two of the strikers will be leaving in addition to Borini who has already gone. It will depend who comes in but may also be part of the discussions with Anderlecht.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Which club has borini gone to ? {Ed002's Note - Parma.}

Agree0 Disagree0

But would u class kalou as a striker

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 11:46:51
Ed002 - What is the situation with Lampard, Malouda & Drogba? Will they be sold this summer or is it dependent on who is able to be purchased this summer? If Chelsea did get all of their targets, do you think these three players would still be at the Bridge next season?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Malouda has been told he can lkeave but wishes to stay. Drogba will probably leave. There will be discussions with Lampard but much will depend on who arrives.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If lukaku cums drogba has to leave cant have thre pure cfs for 1 position wouldnt help torres and would not help lukakus development

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 11:42:56
Ed I have heard that Chelsea are planning a bid for cheik tiote Please tell me this isn't true cause personally I think he's a step back from mikel and that's the last thing this team needs... Someone WORSE than Mikel {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any such plans but am aware that there are rumours.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are u mad Mikel is terrible. he cant even pass 5 yards i will be glad to see the back of him. what a waste of money he was would like to see de rossi come in. he is a great player

Agree0 Disagree0

You clearly haven't watched to many newcastle games this past season, this boy is ten times better than mikel, in fact i'd goes as far to say he was the best midfielder in the prem alongside, parker, barton and toure.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah Tiote's quality, real industrious midfielder. Him and Ramires would run teams into the ground and he wouldn't be rediculously overpriced like Modric.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mikel is only 24 still has a lot to prove tho

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 09:06:16
Hearing rumours Anderlecht are gonna accept
An offer of 15m from us for lukaku...? Eds do u know anything about this? Have anderlecht decide to finally give in? {Ed002's Note - There are talks planned for later today and tomorrow. Cheslea gave them a maximum figure they would pay for the player.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 09:02:42
Hi Eds, 3 quickies :)

1)Whats the status on Moutinho, is he no longer an option?
2)According to the Sun, Man Utd have been put off by Snejiders wage demands. Will Chelsea have a go at luring him?
3)Have Chelsea ever had an interest in Yoann Gourcuff or is he not good enough?

Cheers guys {Ed002's Note - (1) There is nothing I know of right now with the lad; (2) I doubt it; (3) Not for a couple of years.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

15 Jul 2011 08:29:37
I dont see why we should be hell bent on signing Lukaku just now hes stilll young and wouldnt start week in week out, Aguero should be our main target for a striker

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Because if we don't sign him someone else will, do you really want someone like united or city snapping him up ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather have Aguero over anyone else we have been linked with

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2011 20:48:57
Ed002 - Falcao has extended his Porto contract and has an higher buyout clause. Surely if he was desperate to join Chelsea like he said he wouldn't have signed it? You are still interested in him aren't you? Perhaps he has priced himself out of a move now? Surely he has just blown his chance? Why do players keep doing this Ed? Will it get them better wages if they are sold?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I suspect that as Falcao has signed a new contract at Porto and is probably out of the picture.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jul 2011 19:04:38
ED002 any truth in this Parker to chelsea for 1 year story? {Ed002's Note - I really don't think it will happen.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Jul 2011 18:53:22
ED002 any news to report today you mentioned 1 chelsea scout went to argentina and another to L.A was this specifically for 1 or 2 players or just a scouting mission?

Also whats the latest with Falcao

And is it true Anzhi have bid £45 mil for Ganso

Cheers {Ed002's Note - There will be nothing to report from Los Angeles until Sunday. Anzhi Makhachkala have made a bid for GAnso but less than the figure you suggest. Expect a bid of 100M euro for Neymar and Ganso to follow from them. Falcao has signed a new contract at Porto and is presumably out of the picture.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 10:27:39
Reports in Belgium suggest that Anderlecht general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck will arrive in London today for talks with Chelsea over a deal for Romelu Lukaku. Is this true Ed? {Ed002's Note - Yes it is. Money remains an issue, so at the moment nothing has changed. Chelsea will certainly not pay 30M euro - but I think they will pay 20M euro.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks Ed, do u know if the deal can be completed in the next couple of days? {Ed002's Note - They are due to hold talks. It is impossible to (a) guess the outcome; (b) guess how long it may take to complete formalities.}

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 10:06:27
ed seems like courtois and lukaku deals could be done today or tomorrow
agreed with courtois just waiting for response from player
and strong reports from belgium saying anderlecht preside nt in london today to negotiate for lukaku says will settle on 15 mill
ed heard anything
what about de bruyne {Ed002's Note - £15M is close to the figure Chelsea said they would not go above - which was provided in euro. The only issue with de Bruyne is Chelsea wish to loan him out immediately and he is not happy with that. Courtois will be loaned back to Genk immediately.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 Jul 2011 02:01:44
After Falcao signed his contract extension, where does that leave Chelsea in terms of searching for a new striker? Have our targets once again changed as a result? Thanks for all your hard work Eds {Ed018's Note - we just have to wait and be patient as painful as that is. chelsea would love to sign lukaku for the right price but Anderlecht wants alot more than we are offering, plus theres the whole Tevez thing which i think when he moves it could decide what happens for us. theres just a long time to go with plenty of twists and turns and its hard to say what will happen}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I think Tevez going to Corinthians will be bad news for Chelsea. It means City have a clear shot at Aguero, Real will target Neymar and I see someone meeting Lukaku's price-tag by the end of the window simply because options are running out. Someone like Anzhi, PSG, Spurs or Malaga could swoop in.

It's hard to attract players to England nowadays I feel, it's not all about money anymore. One good thing is you still have Drogba & Sturridge at the club. Torres will probably get his form back and it's not a bad front three is it? I expect you to bolster your midfield with Modric & possibly Pastore. I think January may be a good time to pounce, Chelsea & Liverpool had an advantage over many teams when they spent in January. Teams like Barcelona, Inter, AC Milan, United & Real seem to be quiet January time. This is why Liverpool got Suarez so comfortably and perhaps why no-one challenged you for Luiz.

It doesn't matter to me who United or Chelsea buy this summer, or what other teams buy as I believe it will be us and you fighting it out for the number one spot.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2011 23:25:19
With Falcao seemingly no longer an option does this potentially mean that we will pursue Aguero Ed?thanks {Ed018's Note - its possible but like its been said time and time again, i think it'll be Tevez who ends up setting things in motion, so we may have to wait and see how things work out}

Believable0 Unbelievable1
