Ed, are Chelsea still in pursuit of Isco?

PR! {Ed002's Note - I am not sure "pursuit" is the best term. Chelsea had someone watch Isco in a recent game against Granada and again very recently. AC Milan might also look to the player if he does not move before the summer. If Malaga are forced to sell even though they don't want to right now, they have discussed future options on the player with a couple of clubs and I would suspect Chelsea, Juventus and Real Madrid are best placed right now to push a deal through - although Manchester City could well make a bid. A move in January is by no means certain and Malaga are looking to have Isco sign a new long-term contract because they do fear a move for the player this month. Malaga wanted 21M euros and are now negotiating an increase in a termination clause to 42M euros, using a pay rise to tempt the player to agree.}

Ed regarding this potential transfer, is the player open to a move to Chelsea? There are going to teams wanting him in the summer for example the ones you mentioned and getting his signature then could be problematic in my eyes.

PB {Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation as far as I know it. I have no idea what the kid is thinking himself.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed pursuit doesnt need to mean galloping towards, it means that he is in the sights of cfc whether that is stealthily watching him or racing to get his signiture so as cfc have watched him on a number of occasions there is pursuit whether the pursuit continues once he has been watched is another thing but i think we could all agree that at this moment in time cfc are pursuing isco therefore the term pursuit as mentioned above is actually a correct term of chelsea's interest. and YES i know im sad for even pointing this out

ED how are QPR able to purchase such player's as Remy & M'vila? the price of players and wages surely added to the summer spend and ridiculous amount of money they pay some of there player's mean f they were to get relagated they would be in financial trouble? {Ed002's Note - They have wealthy owners.}

Do Chelsea hold an interest in De vrij of Feyenoord? and is there anything on Adem Ljajic of Fiorentina? I know it's a bit of a nuisance but the search bar is a little outdated with the concerns

Devon. {Ed002's Note - Feyenoord's Stefan de Vrij was the subject of interest from Arsenal and Newcastle in the summer and a number of clubs have taken a look at the player this season including Spartak Moscow, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. Whilst there may be speculation about a January move, a move in the summer seems far more likely. He is club captain where he is and I would think unlikely to want to move anywhere to find his opportunities of playing are reduced. There is interest in Ljajic but not from Chelsea.}

Matt {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in discussing managers for Chelsea at this time but Heynckes must be pushing 70 now.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Just the right age to take over from Ferguson!!!

I see, Jensen reason he doesn't know what he is doing next year.. Ok cheers ed, my personally preference would be good German manager like Klopp then.. Although Dortmund will not wanna let him go

Just been announced on via a Russian reporter that Willian is finally reporting back to Shahktar but only to discuss his future. It was stated that he wants to leave and his preferred destination is the Bridge. He won't be cheap and before you all jump on me, i know we have classy midfielders already but he's a versatile player who like Taison can play up front. Apparently it will all be sorted in the next 5 days................

If Willian can play up front, so can Mata. Stop talking rubbish. If we wanted to play attacking midfielders as strikers, then Hazard would have been playing there for months! This is not fantasy football, get a grip.

Agree0 Disagree0

So, are you saying that you don't believe him?

Agree0 Disagree0

I do recall a game fairly recently when no forward was put out and the frontline was attacking CM with hazard taking the lead up there. can't remember who against but i think it turned out badly can you remmber this game ed 002

dave {Ed002's Note - No idea Dave, sorry.}

So why was we going to buy taison, it wasnt for the fun of it `

Juventus dave 3-0 :(

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, there was one game in recent Chelsea history where we played a false no.9, ONE!! And even then it was only because our only other option was Torres lol

Thanks

Willian would be a great buy he could play on the left. Hazard could play on the right and cut inside getting shots away and then Mata could play in his preferred position in the middle. Champions of Europe

I'm totally satisfied with Marin as our back up left winger. Don't think he's that type of player who would demand to play in the starting line-up, and besides I quite rate him.
And also...if there was a straight choice between Isco and Willian, I think Isco really is a total no brainer, can't see why anyone in their common sense would prefer Willian over Isco. Btw, I think Willian could just be an option in January, especially if Marin also left on loan but which I doubt. If Marin left over summer and Piazon remained on another season long loan, a legion of attacking midfielders consisting of Hazard, Mata, Isco, Oscar, Moses and Willian, along with Falcao, would easily bring us the Premier League. Especially when you consider potential double pivot legion consisting of Fellaini, Ramires, Romeu, Mikel and also Oscar, we would win the league easily.

Ed in relation to Piazon i thought the club wouldnt loan him out this year due to him becoming a HG player if he stayed at the club for a duration of time?

PB {Ed002's Note - I am told it is next season that is impacted as his 19th birthday falls after January 1. If he had been born before then it would have been a problem.}

I think it's safe to assume the club has sweetened the Isco SUMMER deal by loaning Piazon to them. My bet is that Isco will arrive during the summer, can't see him leaving Malaga in January, given they're still in CL and in the hunt for CL places in La Liga.

Rumour has it that Piazon is heading to Malaga on loan. Let's hope that this opens the door for Isco to join us at some point!

Hi Ed002 . What clubs have shown an interest in Mats Hummels in the past?

MB {Ed002's Note - Hummels has perhaps only a slim chance of moving in January but there is much interest from Inter, Barcelona, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus and there will no doubt be interest from elsewhere should he become available. Barcelona have made an offer and would like to complete a deal but will likely not have the funds until the summer - but they fear an offer from Manchester City in the mean time. Juventus would like a January transfer but he is not their highest priority. I rather suspect that the summer might be a more likely time for Dortmund to agree a sale.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Hummels would be nice, I believe he's the best young CB in Europe. There'd be a lot of competition for him I would imagine and he'd be very expensive.

Hi ed is there Anychance we will place a bid for Willian I no there's interest from Afew clubs was just wondering if we are interested enough to place a bid for him {Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Manchester City, Spurs and Juventus have all shown an interest in Willian. Last January Chelsea backed off from buying the player as Shakhtar were looking for 35M euros for the player - the same figure that scared off Spurs in the summer. Willian's situation is getting complicated and Shakhtar are still looking for 35M euros for the player - although are very unlikely to get it - and are actively trying to get Juventus and Chelsea involved in some sort of deal whilst the player has failed to return to training. At best he will be expensive.}

ED02 why the sudden loan of Piazon to Malaga? are the club trying to get good relations with club in a bid to sign Isco? {Ed002's Note - It is not sudden, it was always likely that he would go on loan during the latter part of the season.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

15 Jan 2013 11:57:48
Is Piazon going to Malaga Ed002, and is this deal involving Isco coming the other way?

ED002 so the club are allowing Piazon to go to Malaga on loan, But are they always prepared to let Marin go on loan? the squad is looking thin bear if that's the case very strange decision if we do not atleast bring in anothr forward player... {Ed002's Note - It was agreed in the summer that Piazon would go on loan for the second half of the season if it would give him additional playing time. His opportunities at Chelsea were always going to be limited this season so it is seen as best for the player. It is unrelated to anything in respect of Marin.}

Lukaku is a gun, he has limitless potential and there's a great article on "we ain't got no history" check it out, I do not want him to leave but i would love if he went out on loan again to west broom again, I would absolutely hate it if we signed someone other striker who would get in his way, I would prefer a loan on someone like David villa or maybe sign HUNTELAAR, which won't happen as he signed a new contract, but all I want is for lukaku to become our new DROGBA and win us many many trophies

Billy

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Mate we paid 18 million for him. westbrom would never pay that.

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you mean

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't hold your breath as there is only one Drogba, there won't be another. So far he has looked good for west brom but still way.off of being able to lead an attack of Chelsea's magnitude. He might improve, but next Drogba? You having a laugh. The Oak

Agree1 Disagree0

Mate, he's the closest thing to DROGBA well ever have, read the post,

Billy

Agree0 Disagree0

The Oak

Drogba arrived at chelsea when he was 24, the hype around Drogba only came when Marseille (spelling) played in the CL and even then no one else would pay the 24mil we payed for him. It took him 2 years to settle and what he did after the 2 years will go down in history. But IMO Lukaku is better than drogba when he was 19! (think he played for a div 3/4 team in france!). Another season out on loan then he will be ready to lead our attack. DJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not sure. he's incredibly talented and i think is our future star striker but i think he'll need a few more seasons on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Drogba is a different animal. Mentally and physically awesome and won many games in his own. A bigger legend than any player including terry and lampard in my opinion. THE best centre forward in the world at his peak and created a vast number if his own chances and goals. Just because lukaku is a big lad doesn't mean he will be another Drogba.

Ed002: Chelsea were on the verge of getting Loic Remy at the end of the summer window, but could not agree a fee. Correct me if i'm wrong, but it was thought to be 15 million euros, what Marseille were asking for. But now he's available, both Newcastle and QPR agreed 8 million pounds transfer fee. Why aren't we interested in a player any longer?

JG {Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle, Everton, QPR, Shalke 04 and Lille have shown varying degrees of interest in Loic Remy but there have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Remy from Liverpool. There was discussion with Chelsea about Remy during the negotiations over Azpilicueta but it came to nothing. Remy would be interested in a move to England but his recent form has been poor and Marseille know it will be difficult to get a good price for the player. Newcastle looked very likely complete the transfer of Remy in January, although there was a slim chance that they might face opposition from Everton who made a recent approach to Marseille about his availability on loan. Howver, QPR has now pushed ahead with two offers to Marseille, one of which is a deal invloving a player moving in the opposite direction. As far as Marseille are concerned, they have started looking for a replacement but will hold out to get the best price they can.}

ED do chelsea still maintain a interest in Ben Arfa? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea has maintained an interest in Ben Arfa at one level or another since he was at Marseille - and if he were available Chelsea would indeed still be interested.}
