ed002 reports tonight suggest Ashley Cole will not definetly be leaving at the end of the season after another failed meeting with the club is this the case?

Can I ask, what does everyone make of David Luiz? Im not here to start a war of words between Liverpool and Chelsea. But I dont rate him - he switches off far too often and for 25mil? I would have looked elsewhere. Love to know what you guys think though.

Personally, I think David Luiz only ventures forward when our midfield is not moving the ball forward, not as though he's a bad player. The guy is simply class. He's been our best defender this term with our improved midfield. Unfortunately, as bad as u think he may be, the stats say otherwise - so far he's better than Johnson, Carragher, Agger and Enrique combined, plus we're assured of the odd goals from him more that Suarez, 15m pounds Chelsea reject Borini and 17m pounds Joe Allen will guarantee you.

Righto then Basics - you brought a knife to a gun fight so here we go. He is positionally all wrong. He gets caught the wrong side of the ball a lot, and that has nothing to do with the midfield. That is to do with him switching off. He is not better than Agger or Skrtel - both are consistent and quality. He is better than Enrique though who is useless and Carra is past it. Borini is not a Chelsea reject, you can even ask Ed002 and he will back me up. Borini was highly thought of but wanted first team assurances. With Drogba in the team that wouldnt have happened, so he left. Joe Allen wasnt 17mil he was 15mil. If you dont see what he brings to the team then you lack any kind of tactical knowledge and I dont think you are in a place to comment on midfielders when Mikel is a regular - what an exceptionally gifted player he is. Back to Luiz though - I never said he was crap, I just dont rate him. Cahill should start ahead of him imo. Yes Luiz can be very good, but throw into that the moments when he is reckless or switches off and he becomes a liability.

I seem to recall that Wigan side also beat you? And you are using some fairly loose stats there mate - stats can be used to show anything. Statistically Adam was in the top 5 assists in the prem last season, and yet he was terrible. Statistically Jermaine Defoe is a great striker. Stats can be used to bend an argument, and yet his general play is just not up to it. Statistically he does well, but watching him he is not good. I knew a player who played centre back and was useless - yet when he was on the pitch we never conceded. It had nothing to do with him being good though as we conceded more chances with him on the pitch.

Why are you concerned with Chelsea players, don't you have enough to be concerned about already? Last I checked on Liverpool, I had to use map-quest to find them on the table.

Fine I recind my questions over Luiz ability. He is the next Puyol. Liverpool are terrible and Chelsea will win the treble this year. Apologies for my obvious bias - for I am a Liverpool fan and we have nothing better to do.

That just about make up for it?

To be fair, I thought his original question was a genuine one. Obviously, we think Luiz is better than he does, but we shouldn't shoot down anyone who asks what appeared as a genuine question.

We should be able to put a decent argument forward to support Luiz, without having to remind Kiwi how crap Liverpool are. Come on chaps, lets not be overly defensive. (see what I did there......)

That 4 1 loss was a few days after we beat you in the fa cup, we made 8 changes. Don't judge our defence on fereira, turnbull and one of Bertie's first games...

Didn't we rest a load of players for the Champions League final when Loserpool beat us? KiwiRed is a full hit muppet! Agger and Skrtel, average at best. In all seriousness, how many Liverpool players would get in the Chelsea side? Maybe Gerrard when he is actually fit, nobody else!!

Regarding ed's comments about the barcelona game, you only had a clean sheet because you had 11 men behind the ball the entire game.. Statistically you got tonked big time, but somehow managed to sneak a goal because barcelona commited every single player forward towards the final few moments of the game.

I'm not being a trouble causer by the way, merely stating the obvious facts.

..Chelsea got lucky.
