What about beckham on a loan in jan when his mls season finishes? on the merchandise side would sell loads and club would be known by more people worldwide ?

I think in January Chelsea should just sign players for defense and midfield. For center back Chelsea should go for an English player as there are not much spaces in the team for a foreign player. Options are Roger Jonson(Birmingham), Gary Cahill(Bolton), Scott Dann(Birmingham), Micheal Dawson(Tottenham), Steven Taylor(Newcastle), Micah Richards(City). Chelsea should also look at a new right back as. Gregory Van der Weil seems to be our long standing target for that position but I think we should look at Davide Santon. His agent has talked up his availability and said Chelsea are interested and he has meetings lined up with the club to talk business. For midfield I would prefer switching Essien back to def midfield and a more attack minded player come in to play in his position like Dzagoev or Hamsik. But that might not happen so options for holding midfield are Vidal(Leverkusen), Gokhan Inler(Udinese), Mauricio Isla(Udinese), Yann M'Vila(Rennes). What do you think Ed, any chance of any of these happening?

Hey Ed, do you think that Chelsea will play Essien in defensive midfield and buy an attacking mid to play where he use to? The reason I asked is because we need and seem to be looking at an def mid because is not up to it that position. {EDITOR'S NOTE: I don't think Chelsea will spend on an attack minded mid with Lamps coming back. Also terry returning shortly}
So Ed, Lampard is an attacking mid. I always thought he was a central or box to box midfielder. {ed's note - he has always been used in a very attacking role for Chelsea, but I am sure he could play any of those roles.}

Chelsea are interested in signing 18 year old Portuguese winger Joao Reis. Any truth in this Ed? {ed's note - I haven't heard anything on that, the only Joao Reis I had heard of before the report was an actor. So it could be true, but I haven't heard anything about it.}

Chelsea 113% usa n E.S. {ed's note - I think Kakuta is set to stay now apparently, he is just worrying about getting first team football, I believe promises have been made. Not sure on the others though.}
