Ed 002 Do you think the Real interest in Ramires will lead to a conversation about Varane?
Thanks for the fascinating comments below.

{Ed002's Note - That has previously happened and may well happen again. It remains as I explained.}

As Hob 308 said, thanks Ed002 for your comments and insight. You obviously know a huge amount of what is going on and we, the true CFC fans on here really appreciate your's and the other Ed's input. Seems to me that this site(which I think is awesome) is finally working as it should, and it's great-except for one dickhead a couple of days ago :-( - so please keep it going for us real fans that love and appreciate what you do. Special thanks from us all :-)

{Ed002's Note - You are very sweet - we will see what happens.}

Hi Ed just wondering if you had any updates on current or previous HG interests such as Sterling, Barkley, Berahino, Pogba etc

Thanks in advance

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - (a) There is interest from clubs in Sterling because he is playing well. Chelsea are one of those clubs as I have explained. I suspect a move is unlikely. (b) I think the time has past for Chelsea but MC might still push for Barkley. (c) I think again that interest has passed - WBA are looking to offer him the best deal they can. (d) Chelsea's interest remains but it is tough to see how a deal can be reached in the short-term. (e) Talisca remains a target and Chelsea will look to some sort of deal, however complicated it might be. (e) Interest remains in Varane and won't go away. (f) Chelsea will look to a striker for the summer where they can pay for him in January and take him in the summer - options are being considered.}

Thanks mate. Could you possibly name them strikers we are looking at?

Cheers, all the best

{Ed002's Note - The club are considering various options and I am not going to get in to naming players before there is some concerted level of interest I am aware of. I can say that Paco Alcacer would be number one choice but it now looks unlikely. Seydou Doumbia was looked at again but there is, apparently, only one person within the club being particularly supportive of a move for him - so very unlikely.}

Thanks a lot Ed much appreciated. Really do value your imput.

Is doumbia's age still in question? One of those things that'll never get resolved imo

{Ed002's Note - It is not of concern in this case.}

I can dream of us buy Lacazette from Lyon

Hey eds, which teams Are interested in petr cech?

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - PSG, Monaco, Real Madrid if Casillas leaves, possibly Atletico Madrid.}

Ed do you think Cech will leave in January?

And if so will a replacement be brought in?

Surprised we didn't try to bring Darlow in then send him back to Forest quality keeper IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - (1) Yes, I expect Petr Cech to leave in January. Right now Atletico Madrid would really like to see a deal in place but there are some financial constraints. (2) The club has not made any firm decision about this and it is important that Jamal Blackman will be returning from loan in January. They know that at the end of the season Mark Schwarzer will be moving on and Delac is returning. I suspect that unless someone of particular interest shows up or Blackman stays on loan, then there will be no immediate push. (3) Chelsea did try to buy Darlow in the summer but the player was keen on first team football - and the club cannot offer that.}

Ed I was just wondering with FFP and wages are Chelsea in a position to be able to buy a player like Sterling/Reus/Pogba without running into any issues or would we need to sell prior to a purchase, I am just curious has to how well we are copping with the current regulations.

thanks for taking time to answer as always.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea need to meet the rules and will be selling to buy - the likes of Torres, Romeo, Kakuta, McEachran, Moses, Marin et al will be sold. There are also a couple of first team squad players that would bring a good return (e.g. Ramires).}

Love Ramires, really do. He's a good player and works his socks of for the team. But if we can sell him and use that money to buy Pogba, we should definitely do it.
I don't think however that Sterling is a viable option for us. He'd cost a fortune and Liverpool probably wouldn't be inclined to sell him to rivals.

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't understand all the negativity against Ramires with what he's done for the team. The system we've played the last 2 seasons hasn't exactly suited him but if Jose reverts to a 4-3-3 with Matic holding and rami and fab either side I think he'd flourish there with his pace and energy.

I'd definitely like to see Mikel leave but I think Nathan Ake could easily and should replace him because I think he will be quality. If Ramires does leave we could make a nice profit of him and Mikel then I'd like to see Khedira brought in with not long left on his contract although our squad is pretty much brilliant.

I do think we need a couple of homegrown players to come in though. I don't think Salah will ever make the grade here so maybe someone like jay rodriguez if gets back to full fitness and could act as a third striker with hopefully Drogba becoming a coach. I love the look of Stones too so calm on the ball.

But apart from that we really do have a great squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Indeed we have a great squad. But Pogba ticks all the boxes. He's physical, has great technique and he's homegrown IIRC. I don't want to be negative towards Ramires because as you said he's great in a 3 man midfield. But upgrading to Pogba would lead to me being ecstatic!

Love the team, so excited for this season!
