Hey Ed,
Are Southampton still interested in signing Kevin De Bruyne on loan for this season? Any other teams looking to loan him out? {Ed002's Note - Atletico Madrid, Southampton, Hoffenheim, Sporting Lisbon, Lille, Benfica, Wolfsburg, Hamburg, FC Twente and Fiorentina have enquired after taking Kevin de Bruyne on loan.}

Is it still possible for him to qualify as 'home grown' by going on loan to an English club or is he already too old? {Ed002's Note - De Bruyne will never count as HG in England.}

ED do you know when the new signings will be unveiled and if so will be before the pre season tour? Cheers man {Ed002's Note - It is the same answer to when you asked five minutes ago.}

I know it's difficult to say, but would Chelsea look to tie up any deals before the pre season tour of the states ED? However saying that targets like Oscar and Hulk wouldn't come on the tour anyway due to Olympics. Just curious as all ED, thanks {Ed002's Note - I cannot say about the timing of any transfers.}

{Ed022's Note - The Player Profile on Stevan Jovetic has now been updated to meet current events, and as you all know there is interest in him from Chelsea, so feel free to come onto the site and check it out, post your views etc. www.player-profiles.co.uk - there is also a Player Talk page just for Chelsea fans on the site now also. Cheers.}

So Marseille have apparently told us that they will NOT accept an offer for less than £9.5m for Cesar Azpilicueta. If we want him that much, and he is such a talent, surely £10m would be enough to get him? And as he is young, he will be our first choice right back for a good few years? Thought ed? {Ed022's Note - It would be enough I believe.}

Will we bid that and his he willing to play his football at Chelsea?

Umm just a thought, but if they're asking for a minimum of £9.5 mil, then why would we offer £10 mil?
Just throwing in an extra £500k as an early Christmas present?

He is not ready to be our first choice right back straight away; Ivanovic is a much better right back.
Agree0

Ivanovic is not a right back, and he wont play there this season.

I'll bet that 500k early Christmas gift that If Ivanovic is still a Chelsea player come next season he will at some point play at RB.

Sigh .... yes of course he will, HOWEVER he has gone on record stating he DOES NOt WANT to play right back, but wants to play center back. He is happy to COVER for RB when needed BUT does not wish to be our 1st choice in that position. Given other big clubs sniffing around who can and will offer him a CB position .............
We need a 1st choice RB this summer, with Ivan fighting for a CB role and covering RB for injury, susspesion and certain chosen games.
The fact he will play SOME games at RB isnt an issue - the fact he could be 1st choice in that position is, and we would likely loose him altogether if that is the case.

Are we looking to purchase another midfielder in addition to Oscar? Or will Oscar be it if the deal goes through? {Ed002's Note - We will see who leaves.}

Hey ED(s), keep up the great work, just curious, do you believe Chelsea will complete a deal for Oscar? I think it would be agreat statement as his technique his sublime. As yourselves are saying Chelsea are building a squad not just an eleven and the future is bright!! Cheers guys {Ed002's Note - As I said - it has some way to go. He is very young and perhaps someone will take the opportunity to show his folks around London whilst they are here. Maybe Oscar could take a look at Piazon's apartment overlooking the Thames. It is a big move for a youngster. How would a 19 year old Dennis Wise have gotten along if he had made a move to South America?}

Cheers, yeah good point. With David luiz, ramires and as you said piazon Chelsea can make it easier for him to settle though! {Ed002's Note - Right - As Alex did with the others. They deal with stuff like church which is often imprortant for South American players.}

Quite right Ed. People seem to overlook just how young Oscar is.

V.true ED, I presume the majority of brazilians are catholic so it is very true these issues are dealt with. Did Alex really help Luiz and Ramires! I know Piazon is thankful to Ramires and Luiz in particular for their help. Hopefully the same can be the same if Oscar arrives. I presume the Olympics will be perfect for him to become acclimatised.

Dennis wise would of had a ball in south America at 19!

Ed is Oscar any good in your opinion? I've watched YouTube clips and I'll be honest, he's not any better than Lucas Piazon in my opinion! I personally don't see the point in wasting money on him! Piazon will be better in the future and I think Piazon could do a job now!
I just feel that we should be spending money on more important positions such as RB or another strikers!
What are your thoughts?
Chelsea Nick {Ed002's Note - I rarely have stong opinions on players.}

Wow, I didn't realise you could make a completely accurate unbiased comparison/judgement from some random YouTube videos. Are you unaware that Oscar is a Brazil international and has pretty much replaced Ganso in the national team? He's 2 years older, more experienced and versatile.
Piazon will be quality but was playing in our under 18s last season. He'll step up to the reserves this year, whilst occasionally training with the first team squad and maybe playing in the carling cup.

ED i noticed over on the Man Utd page that Barcelona made a approach for Ruben Loftus Cheek an interesting trade deal? can you tell us what they were offering? {Ed002's Note - It is months ago and the detail is not really a matter for discussion.}

After all that ED, (1) were Chelsea shown the evidence of Oscar's ownership today and do you believe a deal wil be completed? (2) Maybe difficult (sorry) but who are Chelsea more likely to agree in valuation with, porto over Hulk or Leverkusen over Schurrle?
Cheers for your time {Ed002's Note - I am told that the ownership matter was addressed to the satisfaction of the lawyers. As to whether a deal can be completed or not depends on an acceptable bid being made to his club, an acceptable package put together and then persuading the kid that London is still the swingingest city. I have no interest in trying to sensibly answer "more likely" questions. Sorry.}

Cheers ED no worries with the second question, hopeful Oscar will join. He'll obviously be visiting for the Olympics, so could we use that to our advantage?
