Hey Ed, reports surfacing today, especially from Germany state that Chelsea and Broussia Dortmund have opened talks over the possible transfer of center back Neven Subotic. Any truth to this?

{Editor's Note: Yes there is and repeating my response to the same question from yesterday: I understand that a bid will almost certainly be made Neven Subotic and that the bid will likely rejected as Borussia Dortmund want to hold on to the player. The purpose of the bid will be to see if Chelsea can get Dortmund to enter in to discussion over the player. The bid may also bring other interested parties to the table, or remove them entirely so at least we will know where we all stand. If it comes to nothing, I think Chelsea may revive their interest in Zenit's Nicolas Lombaerts.}

Some of the rumours or wishlists on our site are truly delusional. We do not have 150 million to spend, we haven't even got 50 million to spend. We are broke, yes our owner is minted but us as a club, we are potless. The Russian has had enough of buying handfuls of players at costly prices. Yes he will fund more players but only because he has to. We are in desperate need for strengthening but he is not going to buy six players at 20 million a pop.

You need to get used to the new Chelsea, we will not be competing for Pastore, Aguero etc, we will be buying one or two very cheap players. Lombaerts seems a likely buy, Bosingwa will stay so there will be no VDW. In the summer i think we will look at Pjanic for around 12-15 million. But that will be it.

Roman does not want to spend anymore, CA was brought in to work with a low budget. A low budget is what he will get at Chelsea until we can make enough funds to fund the players ourselves. This will not be happening anytime soon. We are safe for the FFP ruling but we will not have much buying power. That is a fact.

Why not play Bruma? Why not play McEachran? If we buy we will stunt the growth of these players, so why buy?

According to the English site Talksport, Inter would be on the verge of winning the competition from Chelsea for the 16 year old Lucas Piazon - your thoughts ed? ? {ed's note - if it is on there I would suggest it is complete and utter rubbish, they have the nickname 'Talksh**e' for a reason.}

Editor are we really intersted in miralem pjanic as the long term replacement for frank lampard? if so how much and will he want to come given we've got so many midfielders already?

{Editor's Note: Yes Chelsea are interested - as for "so many midfielders", Chelsea certainly do not have a surplus. Chelsea, or any English team, would need to pay a premium for the player as Lyon see English teams as honey pots. I don't see a move happening in January and I expect Real Madrid to also show an interest in the player. He is a possible rather than a probable.}
