First of all I think the management side needs to be addressed,mourinho should be brought back as he should never have been let go anyway.assitant managers play a huge part aswell and I don't see di matteo as good enough.At the same time roman needs to put full faith in whoever is taking charge of the team by backing them to purchase their own players.shevchenko,Torres,Cahill to name a few have been brought in above the managers head.The dressing room is clearly split over the above matters.I understand we a rebuilding,but we don't even look close to being where we aim to be.We have gone backwards under AVB and are struggling because we don't have enough quality to get out of this mess,where in the past we did.I don't understand why Cahill was on the bench against everton as he had a solid game v utd and is certainly better than bosingwa.It also wouldn't surprise me if Torres never scored again this season.I think he's had enough time and looks a shadow of his former self.Work rate is excellent and has also assisted a lot,but that's not good enough.Send him back to athletico in swap with falcao which would probably interest both parties.sturridge has great potential but is far to gready.Drogba should be given his two year deal as he still has a lot to offer.We also look a lot better with him in the team.Looking at our team at the moment I think fourth spot would be seen as a successful season,can't see us beating Napoli but maybe winning the F.A cup would be more realistic.Didnt think AVB was the man to take over after ancellotti and he hasn't done anything to change my mind.I really hope I'm wrong but being realistic we look a million miles away from the top three.After saying all this if AVB can guide us to top four finish this year and be given money to buy his own targets then maybe sticking with him and getting rid of a lot of our current squad would be the best solution.Im sure there is quality players out there who wouldn't demand huge transfer fees if we look hard enough.Malouda,kalou,bosingwa must go.Would like to see mamadou sahko from PSG

Get rid of ashley cole?!!....get rid of your silly post!.....and as for the long winded post above you started off blaming AVB and by the end you said keep AVB but get rid of the players.....i dont think you know what you want pal:) were in a transitional period, dont expect miracle's straight away a manager needs either time to build a squad or millions apon millions of pounds and a fantasy wish list(man city)....its obvious chelsea are no longer a man city type club, were building a new team to be competative for years to come! lets all have a bit of patients with our manager for once! the man is no miracle worker, you bring any manager in now and it wont make much diffrence...we simply dont have a league winning side at the moment, but given time we will no doubt about that
As great as all this sounds...the stepping stone for success is the champions league. Fall out of the top 4 and then all the players you have want to leave, and all the players you want dont want to come.
Torres should be sold. There was never a system built around him and i dont think anyone knows how to use him.
Look at Arsenal...last 4 years they build around cesc and they thrived, this year he's gone, its built around RVP.
At chelsea its the big dogs vs the new dogs...there is a pecking order and in such a system nothign thrives. leave torres with wenger and see him smash goals in.
Hes not a rubbish player...hes world class...just lost his mojo and its the managers duty to make sure he gets it back...
