So Ed, the only player Chelsea seem to have interest at the time is Gregory van der Wiel and Darijo Srna.

Although like all Chelsea fans, I love Drogba, he does outrageous things during games and some times in very important matches. Drogba had a chance today to sink our bad form and let us fans and Carlo breathe a little easier. Lamps should have taken the penalty which would have capped off his return. On to Kalou, he missed 4 chances although the first was a half chance he should still worked Gomes. Kalou lost the ball most of times and really needs alot of chances before he eventually scores. My point is that we need another striker. Anelka is Chelsea's only complete striker. He's fast and creative and finishes most of his chances. Drogba a little to often tries to dribble past players and loses the ball so really we should not focus on buying another Drogba at least not now. We should sign a quick striker, who is creative and has great dribbling ability and is very
lethal. So the ideal option would be Aguero but his wages and price tag is out of our reach. Pato seems possible but to big of signing for January and he stated his desire to play for Barca and to stay at Milan. So for January I would say Chelsea should go for Luis Suarez of Ajax. He fits the criteria of the striker Chelsea needs and won't command much in wages nor fee. Ajax has a lot of financial issues so selling Suarez who apparently has disciplinary issues as well (biting a PSV player) will aid them very much. His transfer fee would command around 22m euros which is around 19-20m pounds. What's your thoughts Ed?

{Editor's Note: If Suarez is for sale in January there will be a number of interested clubs and that will push up the fee. It is also hard to see him moving to a club where he will not be first choice as a starter. If he moves it will probably be to Italy.}

Chelsea should sign a defender (most preferably a right back) and a central midfielder. Targets for right back are Gregory Van der Wiel, Darijo Srna(most likely in the summer), Dani Alves(if Barca sells and if he accepts wages Chelsea offer him) also a center back should be considered if Bosingwa's return is swift and if Chelsea send Bruma out on loan. Targets for center back are Gary Cahill, Philippe Mexes etc. Possible targets for midfield are Gokhan Inler, Kwadwo Asamoah, Anthony Annan, Ever Banega etc. So hopefully Chelsea signs decent players and move forward. What's your thoughts Ed? {ed's note - a lot of them are out of reach, Alves for instance, but you dd seem spot on with your assessment of the weak spots.}
