Hey Ed, any truth to the rumours arising today that Chelsea will make a 3m pound move for Everton winger Steven Pienaar?

{Editor's Note: They may well make a bid. I am doubtful that he would want a squad role rather than a starting role though.}

So Ed, we Chelsea fans should expect them to make a bid for him soon? {ed's note - it does look like he is going to be the subject of a bid soon, he is the cheap option for midfield to allow more to be spent on defence, I believe. Though my fellow editor might well have different info on that.}

Ryan Bertrand will return to Nottingham forest later next week following a recall by Chelsea. Chelsea want around 2 million for the talented left back. Ryan has stated that he would like to go back to Nottingham so he can settle down down with a up and coming squad. His agent is keen for Ryan to sign for the midlands club as he does not want Ryan going out on loan for his entire career. If Nottingham Forest fail to raise the 2 million asking price then it is believed that chelsea are willing to do a swap deal for chris gunther.

Coentrao would only be of interest if Ashley Cole left and even then with Zhirkov, Van Aanholt, Bertrand and the youngster whose name escapes me it seems that a left back is not a priority. Santon is effectively a right back which is a position Chelsea do need cover in - so he remains a consideration (if he is available). Van Der Weil seems a much more likely option as right back.

how about Nven Subotic Editor. . {ed's note - you have certainly been looking at him, I have yet to hear of a definite yes or no move for him though. But I will post a message on the editor's widget to ask the guy who will have a much better idea for you.}

{Editor's Note: I saw Ed's question about this and I understand that a bid will almost certainly be made Neven Subotic and that the bid will likely rejected as Borussia Dortmund want to hold on to the player. The purpose of the bid will be to see if Chelsea can get Dortmund to enter in to discussion over the player. The bid may also bring other interested parties to the table, or remove them entirely so at least we will know where we all stand. If it comes to nothing, I think Chelsea may revive their interest in Zenit's Nicolas Lombaerts. As an aside, I should note that I entirely disagree with the other Ed about Micah Richards being a "great signing". I don't believe that Chelsea have any interest in the player at this time - the only thing that could prompt a move would be if Bosingwa's contract situation cannot be resolved and the preferred replacement were not available or willing to move to Stamford Bridge.}
