Don't know how true this is, I've seen it on football Italia -Napoli are reportedly planning to keep Kalidou Koulibaly for one more year, offering a renewal.

The centre-back was expected to leave the Partenopei this summer, and he's been heavily linked with Chelsea.

However, Sky reports that contacts are ongoing between the player's entourage and the club in an effort to keep him at San Paolo. Napoli will not offer an astronomical wage, but are willing to up his salary with a verbal agreement that he can leave next summer if big offers come in.

Going into the first match of the season and the defence is the same as last years. Hope and pray we have a couple of defenders lined up.

yes same as last year but with zouma stil out I've seen reports he won't be match ready until the end of September, Terry 1 season older, we are defensively worse than last year at this stage, we leaked a lot when mourinho was in charge, then we carried on when hiddink came and now, I know it's only preseason but we are still leaking goals, even conte said defence is a problem and we need to improve, I don't know how much a 35 year old, a right back playing left back, and ivanovic can improve?

Think it's a case of a very slow start to the season, then pick up as the season progresses.

Ed we are favourites for iCardi so do u think we will get him with Traore going out on loan.

And also ed do u know of any lb we are interested in.

He seems to have lost his spark, desire for Chelsea. Think we all noticed that last season when he scored but didn't celebrate. Think to get him back to his old self, he needs to leave the club. Would rather see a happy player playing somewhere else then an unhappy one causing grief.

I believe the only way Traore would be aloud to leave is that mean that we have agreed a deal to sign another striker. My bet would be on Gabigol or Icardi, fingers crossed.

But why loan him to Ajax? Why not a team in a more competitive league? Also, Gabigol I really don't see how he offers more than Bertrand anyway, if that were the case (I personally do t think so, but we shall see) .
This has really annoyed me, as it seemed he and Kenedy had broken into the team last year as some of the only positives of our woeful season, and now both of them are seemingly disappearing to the purgatory that is our army of loanees. ) :

Superfrank I agree. I don't believe he would leave otherwise.
I still believe we might see Remy go.

As long as we get top 4, give some youngsters a chance I'm happy. Hard to say but I don't see us winning the league from the signing Utd have made, I believe they are favourites.
Hopefully I'm proven wrong lol.

Be nice to see a new centre back and a striker.
Remy, Mikel sold and a few loans.

I agree that someone would probably be coming in to replace Traore. But why? Traore is one of our most talented young attackers, and I don't see what he offers less than Barbosa for example. I'd be really disappointed.
We'll lose him for longer than 1 season if we loan him out now and replace him. Not to mention that it blocks the way for Tammy Abraham, who's on loan now and already got 2 goals in 2 appearances for them.
I sometimes really do not understand what the club are thinking.

Conte obviously knows what he wants. Shame Traore and Kennedy are going on loan. Get ride of mikel and rely first though!

Traore's issue is the need to bulk up a bit and Kenedy is not a left back, attacking wing back maybe but I see him as a left winger.

PSV won the league last year so it's not like it's a walk in the park for Ajax. He needs game time to help him progress. Wasn't going to get that at Chelsea. Odd minutes here and there, so was well worth him going out on loan. Pretty sure that does mean we have someone lined up to come in. Last 20 days of window and think we will be very busy!
