Ed2: Junior Hoilett is out of contract in the summer. He is 21 and is having the best career year in PL. He is surely an upgrade over Kalou and Malouda. And is available. Are we interested? {Ed002's Note - No. Bolton, Spurs, Newcastle, Stoke, Arsenal and possibly Aston Villa and QPR have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany, including Bayern Munich. I understand that Roma may press to have Hoilett sign a pre-contract agreement with them before Easter - which may spark further interest from Germany. The English sides are very much at a disadvantage in the chase for Hoilett now as he is in to the last six months of his contract and he can talk to interested parties from outside of England. Blackburn will offer him a new deal but I doubt he will be interested.}

Hey Ed, I was wondering what do you think would be the best for Chelsea's future in regards to the stadium. Do you think it is viable to rebuild Stamford Bridge and how possible would it be to temporarily use a stadium like Wembley whilst the rebuild took place? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - I don't see rebuilding Stamford Bridge viable. Chelsea would ideally like to raise the height pf parts of the ground. There is nothing new right now though. I have no concerns about moving if it comes to that.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Why are so many people so against moving? I know its the clubs home, but it always will be to the true fans. A new stadium can help us move forward and become a major footballing force.

Agree0 Disagree0

The residents around Stamford Bridge have opposed pretty much every stadium related planning change going; because of this rebuilding or expanding Stamford Bridge has next to no viability. This renders a move the only real option at this time.

Agree0 Disagree0

When i went on a tour of Stamford Bridge about 8 years ago the tour guide said that Chelsea would never be able to expand Stamford Bridge as legislation states that all fans must be able to exit the stadium in under 8 minutes in an emergancy and any expansion would mean the fans would take longer than 8 minutes to exit, is there any truth in this? {Ed002's Note - I don't know about the timings but there are concerns over the exits. Height is the issue with teh council.}

{Ed022's note - brand new player profile on Mats Hummels of Borussia Dortmund. Dubbed one of the best young defenders in Europe at the minute. www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

Has Van Persie signed a pre contract agreement to join Man City ED? {Ed002's Note - No, he cannot do that.}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Then how did Arsenal agree to sign Podolski ED? {Ed002's Note - They agreed a deal with Cologne to buy him in the summer. A contracted player cannot simply make a deal to join another club.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Transfers can be agreed between clubs any time of year however the player will only move in the agreed, or next available, transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said above post i fort all these people were football fans yet dont have a clue how things work.

Agree0 Disagree0

Transfer can not be agreed between clubs at anytime, a player can only be approached when their is 6 or less months remaining on his contract. Van Persie has 12 months left to run after this season.

Melbourne CFC {Ed002's Note - Whoa. A transfer can be agreed at any time at all between clubs but cannot be processed until the window is open. A player cannot be approached by a team playing in the same federation before the end of the season. The 6 month rule only applies outside of the federation the player is playing under - so, for example, Drogba can now talk to and reach a agreement with Valencia or PSG but not Fulham or Bristol Rovers.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Amen to that

Cheers for clearing it up Ed

I think we will see Mourinho back next year even with his recent comments about signing a new contract at Real Madrid...
Mourinho is a very clever man and he plays the football politics game better than most. Why upset the Madrid fans and hierarchy by insisting your leaving until may when you can win the title and maybe more and leave a hero! He's done that before...
Mourinho is a man with a heart and I think he will be back as he loves Chelsea, loves the fans and loves London...
We just desperately need to get fourth place!!
Don't believe a word Mourinho says until he signs a contract...

Believable8 Unbelievable3

LoL, have you considered he could perhaps be telling he truth? Chelsea is a shambles at the moment, why would he want to leave Madrid for Chelsea in this point in time, should be the question. I think we need to move on, we have to move out of Jose's shadow already. If he comes then all weel good, but i don't see him coming back next season.

hey ed, is there any truth to bielsa turning down two approaches from chelsea about becoming the next manager?? {Ed002's Note - Chelsea cannot approach Bielsa without going through Bilbao for permission to talk to him.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Have chelsea got any intrest in bielsa ed? {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off at the moment and the main concern right now is today's game. The club cannot approach managers or coaches of other sides without the permission of their employers. The club are obviously in a position where they need to appoint someone permanently over the summer and their preferences are well documented. Clearly if thay cannot, for whatever reason, appoint the person they want they will have to look elsewhere. Marcelo Bielsa is doing reasonably well at Athletic Bilbao, but not great. They have been drawing a lot of games and as he has only been there a year and I suspect he would not be interested in a move to Chelsea even if there were interest.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Then, what are Chelsea's preferences, ed? {Ed002's Note - The preference would be for Mourinho or Guardiola.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha ha ed am sorry but i find it very funny that you are going to have the same question over and over until the summer which is a long way away. Ppl stop asking its getting borin! By the way ed who will be the next manager lmfao

Agree0 Disagree0

But does Roman not talk to Jose on regular basis ED they must have discussed it when they have met ? {Ed002's Note - Yes they talk but he is an empoyee of another club so they would never touch on such a subject. That could be construed to be tapping up. They just talk guy stuff - you know, chicks, monster truck racing - that sort of thing.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Mourinho would want full control of the club thought wouldn't he and little interference from anyone else?

Agree0 Disagree0

All managers would want that.

Ed do u know if Mourinho has definitely decided to leave Madrid at the end of the season?

The odds on him becoming next Chelsea Manager have been slashed significantly the last couple of days is there a reason for this? I.e. Informal talks, statements.

FT9 {Ed002's Note - No, the summer is a long way off and Chelsea cannot approach Mourinho without going through Madrid. I have no idea why the odds have changed.}

Hi Edd, any idea if remou is in the plans for the rest of the season? any chance he might be loaned next season? looks great potential {Ed018's Note - he's had a bit of a hard time reastablishing himself in the starting side since he picked up an injury, i'd think he'd be in the plans for next season. he played well when given the chance}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I was very impressed with him to, supprised me he wasnt involved in the birmingham game

Hey Ed , any chance of a mOve for nuri sahin? He's extremely talented and has really been left to rot at Madrid.

Nova {Ed018's Note - i don't think he would be moving on after just one season, but if he has another like this one he may ask for a transfer.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Ok thanks.
