Toulouse confirm that they will let Moussa Sissoko leave for 3.5million this is such a bargain it's unbelievable! Roman Please.

Mike

Believable7 Unbelievable0

It's a bargain but also a tough fit. As centre mids go we have rami mikel Romeu lampard McEachran as well as Luiz Oscar and de bruyne who can play there.

Tk

Agree0 Disagree0

Well just buy him anyway you usually do and he can warm your bench

dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish people would stop saying about josh McEachran, I am A fan of his and his good but his not good enough hence the reason he has been on loan for the last however many years.. He couldn't get into Swansea team last year and this year his in championship.,
Mattm

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah Dave, you're back again. Wonderful. Can I ask what you're founding that statement on? Which 'established' players have we bought recently only to then bench them and not play them regularly. You do grasp the concept of a 25 man squad, correct?

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ib yes i understand the concept of a 25 man squad hence the reason you need benchwarmers/subs and replacements for the injuries that may be picked up. i was saying yet another good talent potentially wasted by sitting on your bench. i am not a supporter of cfc so i do not know in detail how many times people were up and coming and then warmed your bench but marin hardly plays, benayoun, zhirkov, sturridgesidwell kalou bridge as i say if i was to check i am sure there are plenty more too.
thats what i was founding my statement on

dave

Agree0 Disagree0

If you understand the concept of a 25 man squad then you don't have a point I'm afraid. Strength in depth I believe it's known as.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Or wasted talent again. you missed my point as all those players i mentioned missed their chance still they came to their senses and left. my reply with all those names has been brushed over i wonder why oh because i was correct

Dave, if you are not a supporter why do you loiter on the Chelsea pages with apparently nothing but criticism to offer? Your opinions have, thus far, sounded nothing more than the bitter rantings of someone who has nothing better to do...

However, you do sign your posts and your apparently not put off by the fact that most people think your daft - so some respect is due.

J22

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's a valid point. Parker sat on the bench. Sidwell did, Yousi did, Joe Cole did for 1.5 seasons. Marin is sitting on the bench etc. Chelsea do have a record of leaving good players on the bench, having signed them on basis that they would be given more of a chance than they get. Part and parcel of strong squad, but also representative of the pressure our managers under to win every game (hence they take little or no risks) . I'm a cfc fan, but I think this is clear and a worry for anyone looking to join us

Agree0 Disagree0

Marin (injured most of the season) Has now been given chances.

Zhirkov played regularly enough and was used more so as cover at left back / left mid.

Benayoun - Purchased again more for cover.

Sturridge - Was always going to be 2nd choice, proved inadequate when playing in wider positions.

Kalou - Played regularly enough as well!

There are 25 players in a squad buddy, not all of them can play every game. At a top club there is always going to be talent sitting on the bench! Look at Man Utd and Man City. It is a necessity to remain at the top of the game. Squad depth and strength.

It's as simple as that.

IB. {Ed002's Note - Zhirkov suffered a lengthy injury.}

Agree0 Disagree0

It is a valid point. But it is part and parcel of football. Joe Cole was out injured for the majority of that spell. Marin as I've previously said was injured, has now returned and is being given chances. Parker had a very difficult job trying to break into the midfield at that time. Sidwell, Urghhhh.

It won't be a major concern for top footballers. If they don't believe they are good enough to break into the team, at least on an occasional basis, then they won't join.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmmmm ib even one of your fans agree's with me. listen i am not trying to seem as a critic i was just trying to state a point of which i feel is valid. if i was RA i would do the same its just that some players come thinking they have made it as the are joining cfc but their dreams are shattered by not being played. man you have never had millions sat on the bench it has always been the home grown talent or slightly lesser players like fletcher or butt etc man city do but their just crass and without morals but hey good luck mate in the future and bring some kids through the ranks. not kids youve bought because they are good but kids you have nurtured from your acadamy like man utd do. And yes we probably would all do the same as ypou but it doesnt make it right

dave(who doesnt fear ridicule) {Ed002's Note - The last two Manchester United games have seen Smalling, Kagawa, Valencia, van Persie, Young, Ferdinand.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey ed good to see you have soughted your differences and are now back commenting again, back from your er.....sabatical eh ed. well i think that persie and ferdinand were being rested (rotation) young kagawa and smalling all coming back from injury so not really an arguement of any relativity there and you speak only of 2 games i am talking last ten years YOUR j cole bless him was on the bench for over a year a lot of young potential get the same treatment because as one of your fans state the managers are under such pressure at stamford bridge they dare'nt try other players and drop the big names. i thought ed you should be impartial ed but i don't mind youre banter its just good to see the toys are back in the pram and your responding again. finally the difference at ot is that young players are brought through the ranks regularly where as it doesnt happen very often at your place. you buy the talent and not create it.

dave {Ed002's Note - I am not responding to a lot of the posts Dave. I will do a few but I am effectively done with the Chelsea page due to the abuse..}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok ed thanks very much no bs i think you do a great job on ALL the pages whichever team. sadly i troll through all the main premiere sites during the windows to see who is coming and going and i see a lot of your opinions and without trying to sound like a creep i find yours very level headed as a rule enjoy the banter

Any interest in Muniain? {Ed018's Note - there was in the past but certainly not at the price they were asking for}

Hi ed what's the hold up in taison deal no people keep saying we don't need another attacking midfielder but sorry other nite midfield ran out of ideas thought hazard was great tho many thanks

Because its not complete do you think we've changed are views on to someone else thanks again

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Rumour is hes gone to Shaktar.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think our midfield ran out of ideas the other night, there was no movement up front from Torres for our midfield to pick out. I have stuck up for Torres from the moment we signed him but enough is enough, time to go!

Hi Ed, Is there truth in the rumours linking Arda Turan with a move to the premier league? I remember that L'pool were supposed to be interested a few seasons back and he was also linked with a number of other clubs around the same time...

Thanks.

J22 {Ed002's Note - Clubs do not buy players because they are supporters. Arda was certainly looked at by Liverpool but clearly those that were in control of transfers did not progress any initial interest. Eventually he moved to Spain. We knew very early on that he would be leaving Galatasaray for Atletico Madrid once money had been freed up through the sale of Aguero - although there was strong interest from elsewhere. Arda Turan will most likely move this coming summer subject to a suitable bid being made - something in the order of £18M-£20M. The likely destinations are England and Italy although there remains a chance that previous German interest will still be there and an outside chance of a return to Turkey. Atletico Madrid have already rejected a move from Schalke saying they do not want to sell in January.}

Thanks Ed. I remember watching Turan tear us apart during the Super Cup earlier this season and i'm hoping to avoid coming up against him in the pl in the near future! :)

Hi Ed any updates on Isco? Have we made contact with Malaga or talked to the players representatives

PB {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed.}

10 Jan 2013 13:17:05
ED001 have you heard anything on Fellaini to Chelsea reports seem to suggest a deal is in place for the summer? {Ed001's Note - I have heard nothing on any deal being agreed at all. Last I heard Everton were rebuffing any attempts to even enter talks over him.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I understand man you are favourites for his signiture as he doesnt want to get slated for every little mistake he makes, also he likes to play football fluently and he likes the ball moving forward not always sideways or backwards

dave xx

Agree0 Disagree1

Think that was case but now he is worried if he joins UTD and van Persie gets injured they will be mid table team so he will prob stay at Everton

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed could you see Chelsea making a move for him?

Wheelycfc {Ed001's Note - personally, no, I don't see it happening.}

Eds pls, is there any way the club can cancel Torres' contract? He's a waste of space and preventing our better striker frm being played. Why sack manager after manager while Torres remains?

Believable27 Unbelievable6

Is that a serious question?! I suggest you have a look a employment law.

I can't stand people blaming the club's underachievement/poor results on one player.

Get a grip, man up and get behind the team.

Steve

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree with your sentiments regarding Torres.
The difference between Ba 10min contribution and Torres 80mins were palpable.
Its what many have thought for quite a while he offers little or nothing other than an ocassional goal and rarely one that is critical.
We will not move forward until he moves on and we get a credible full time manager.
This season is about damage limitation.

Agree2 Disagree0

Initial post made me laugh haha BUT I wish his contract could have been terminated lol. Worthless player ...

Shak

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree to a certain extent Steve but a team is only ever as good as its weakest player. Right now it's clear to see to a 2 year that Torres is our weakest player. Yes he has good work rate but just doesn't get himself in the right positions and his conversion rate is awful!
JB

Agree1 Disagree0

Hi JB,

His conversion rate is higher than Ba's. ;) It doesn't help that he still seems afraid to shoot though. :(

Either way, I'm a bit peeved people are blaming him (as well as Benitez) for last nights performance....arguably our two most consistent players, Mata and Ivanovic, had poor games. Without Iva's mistakes, that would have been the most one-sided game I've seen for a while. Mata should have had at least three goals but stuffed all the chances up. Ramires and David Luiz had great chances too and passed them up.

Unquestionably, Ba gave Swansea more problems than Torres did however one player is not to blame for Managers continually being sacked.

Steve

Agree0 Disagree0

Steve's response is part of the reason football stays stagnant/regresses. If we want an entertaining game, the entertainers need to give a sh1t. Torres...does not. I'll get behind the team when the players do and judging by last night (and several other games) Torres and on this occasion Oscar, couldn't care less.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2013 20:00:23
we should do a swap deal Michu for torres would be a steal

Agree0 Disagree0

Think I accidentally submitted my last response mid way through a rant, but what I was going to say was get a grip. Yes, Torres isn't good enough. We know that. Two years has shown it. But saying he isn't trying hard enough is a bit much. Let's try and support who we have and get behind the team after a bad result. Don't forget, we beat Barca last season when they were all over us. That didn't mean Messi wasn't trying that night

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that Torres hasn't nearly been good enough and the summer is probably time cut our losses on him and move him on, but to say is there anyway to cancel his contract is just stupid and childish when yes still under contract for a while a very large contract at that so would cost alot to cancel it, plus why would anyone even think about doing that when he could be sold or used as part of a deal for another striker, honestly one of the most stupid things I've seen on here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can you send him back to Liverpool please :)

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of the papers are stating he has massive regrets about leaving Liverpool and wants to return!

Hi ed a lot of people on here got a lot of sources and that's fine but I want to no is there a chance Fellaini could sign for Chelsea in Jan meaning we have shown interest again. Tho I would like the falcao deal to come off maybe the summer maybe more promising but think if Fellaini does come it will complete the midfield and one big push in the summer transfer for falcao squad complete with peep taking over hopefully many thanks

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Ever thought about your defence they look jaded and in need of a rest but all you do is buy attacking players and complain when you lose. last night was not a good case for your defence

dave

Agree1 Disagree0

Torres will be a athletico Madrid player next yeah with falcao coming this way,, garuntee it

Agree0 Disagree1

Load of rubbish!!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dave be quiet you person. Two very uncommon individual errors cost us last night. Did you notice our defence being torn apart other than that? No, didn't think so. Chelsea were the team playing in blue, in case you are a little confused.

IB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dih ib most goals come from individual errors. what i am trying to say instead of buying high profile signings perhaps you should look to build a squad capable of winning something this year. you will see through the season how important that is. you can't rely on drogba to pull you out of the cart anymore like rvp and arse nal you were/are a 1 player team and now he has gone as have your results. no need to call me a person i am only bantering

dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Glaring individual errors such as Ivanovic's last night? I don't think so.

I'm just not sure what your argument is based on really? Other than nothing. I expect the Chelsea hierarchy think they are doing a rather good job of assembling a squad capable of winning trophies, I happen to agree with them. Amusing how you have written off our chance of winning silverware, lets see what the return game at Swansea holds.

Can I ask who you support?
