Hey Folks,

As there has been a lot of rumours recently linking Juventus's Massimiliano Alegri to a Summer move to Chelsea.

Can anyone who watches quite a bit of Serie A, follows Juventus or perhaps are in the know what His Qualities are and whether or not He would actually be a good fit.

I only ask as every forum I read or people I ask they are either claiming Him as a middling Manager who got lucky in following Antonio Conte or has taken Juve further after losing some key players.

I'm not suggesting the rumours are true but if they are what are peoples thoughts?

I would luv the thoughts of the Ed's to.

Thank You in advance.

Hi mate, I have watched few of their matches on italian league (cant say that I am following them a lot) .

They play completely different game then us, they use a lot of space on the sides with true wingers. Also are playing 3 at the back most of the time. They forwards are usually smaller ones which are completely opposite to what we are used to in drogba and costa.

In my own opinion both allegri and conte are of the same calibre but both will be risky as neither managed in Premier league.

Thanks for the replies Guys.

I am unsure on both as neither have worked in England, however plenty of overseas Managers have come to these shores and had success.

I personally would prefer Conte of the two but I have read that He is a bit of control freak and might be too much of a smothering influence over the Squad.

Anyway We wait to see I suppose, it'll prob be neither of them at the end of the day.

Thanks again folks.

Unfortunately seria A is far behind championship level and even officially Italian league is behind English championship. So, how successful would be Italian coach in England is questionable. Off course Carlo Ancelotti is an exception.

I'm a bit leery of Allegri. He did pretty well at AC Milan as far is I'm aware and has continued where Conte left off. The reason I'm leery is that we've seen managers come in before and have a great first season built on the foundations of the previous manager, but for it all to fall to pieces afterwards e. g. Martinez at Everton. He managed to infuse attacking flair into a squad that had previously been defensive minded but as time has progressed and Moyes' influence has diminished we've seen how poorly they've become defensively.
I have seen a few articles/ comments which seem to say that Allegri is simply benefitting/ continuing on from where Conte left off, and I think we need someone to come in with their own ideas and try something different to be honest.

Just watched a compilation of some of Zola's goals for us. What a special player he was!
