Just watched the 1st half of the u21's vs united. It might aswell be united under 30's. They've got Valdes, Rafael and Ashley young playing. I don't think any of ours are over 20 and were more than holding our own. Christensen has made a couple of fantastic blocks while no one else has really impressed me. If Christensen could spend a few months in the gym bulking up we could have a very good young CB on our hands. C

{Ed002's Note - There are drugs that the club buy from some guy on Wardour Street that saves all of the time in the gym.}

I'm pretty sure that's illegal though ed

{Ed002's Note - Not if you don't inhale.}

Hahah come on, everyone knows that even with drugs/steroids you still have to put in the work in the gym. With you, Ed, I just never know whether it's sarcasm or not ;-)

On to the game now. First half was a bit dull. Lots of effort from both sides but no true chances for either team.
Second half we started out strong and after our goal we truly dominated the game. United were a bit lucky to get back into the game, but fair play to them, they nicked it at the end.

Indeed Christensen needs to get stronger if he wants to play centre back at the highest level. Brown was our main attacking threat and was very dangerous for a while during the second half. He definitely showed some promise as well.

{Ed002's Note - I rarely watch soccer.}

Really? Wow, that comes as a bit of a surprise to be honest. Then again, I guess you're busy enough as it is :)

What's Oscar's future like at Chelsea? PSG have been keen to show their interest and we have for Atletico's Koke, too.

I would love to see us swap Oscar for Verratti, so this question really is askign what Oscar's future is and if we have any interest or intentions of signing the master Verratti.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is no interest in swapping him for Verratti.}

Are psg or anyone else interested in Oscar?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Not right now.}

I think Wednesday night could be the decider - Everton will be tough and Man City go to Stoke (always difficult, especially on a cold Wednesday night in Feb)

We should be expecting to beat Everton. They aren't all that this season. If Toure is back then Man City will be stronger than recently, although he might struggle after playing 120 minutes last night.

Toure and bony aren't going to play for city pellegrini has confirmed.

I really hope we try and press the hell out of Everton. Martinez is adamant about them playing out from the back and we can press them into mistakes and isolate lukaku. I would really like to see willian in the hole with cuadrado on the right. Feel Oscar looks pretty tired as he's played a bunch lately with Fabregas' injury.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You want to feel Oscar?}

Willian in the hole?? Lol filth

Right I have a right debate on twitter (eds fav social network) about oscar! I think this kid has NOT become the player I thought he be! Very in and out of form and I feel if some team came in with a bid of £30m we should sell but I get dogs abuse on twitter from the fan boys who still judging him on that juventus goal! So I put it to you! What do you see what I can't because I think he is terribly lightweight and gets knocked off the ball easy doesn't score enough don't assist enough and there are no consistent form! Willian is made for the number 10 role at cfc works hard goes pass players with ease and maybe putting him there might net more

I don't see him as the player a lot of other people see, I think his physical limitations mainly pace don't suit our style of play, he's good tecnically but not outstanding. If PSG want to pay 30/40m for him I'd take it all day long.
I'd rather have a Draxler/Barkley type of player in there plus we have Hazard/Piazon coming back next year who deserve a chance

I agree with you about Oscar, pinky.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take 35-40 million.

I find him overrated, extremely. Though I see what he brings and what he does and is a good player.

He's lightweight, he's not fast, he doesn't have that killer pass, he's inconsistent. I fail to see what everyone rates him for.

I, in my honest opinion, find Philip Coutinho better! He's a great player and if he could shoot properly could be a fantastic player and one of the best in the league.

Oscar has his positives, but for me he isn't a 35 million player, like everyone thinks he is. I do like him, don't get me wrong, he marked out Pirlo and scored a wonder goal, and has a wonderful technique with the outside of his foot.

It would hurt to see oscar go, as he is one of my favourite players, but without bias, he isn't as good as anyone makes out me believes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't understand why people give Oscar such a hard tim. I think he can do better but he's in the top 5 combined goals and assists and he's great at pressing from the front. Willian is good in that position also but no evidence that he is more creative.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't see him leaving anytime soon to be honest. I think that as he gets older he will get more consistency to his game, so yeah, he won't be a world beater but he will be a valuable first team player. I agree with Aron on Coutinho, Liverpool got him at a steal.

I think Hazard-Willian-Cuadrado should be tried to see how that goes.

The only way I see oscar leaving is if PSG do a David Luiz and offer 50 million. We have enough talented players in the youth team and on loan (Hazard and Piazon were mentioned) who I think could be amazing and the money can be reinvested.

I do think this summer is going to throw up a few surprises!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree he's overrated but I also feel his offensive stats are below a lot of guys in his position because he works about twice as hard as most people playing behind the striker. The issue is who his replacement is. If we can sell him and bring in a guy like reus (for even money or so) that's one thing but I think it's crazy to suggest a guy like piazon is ready to challenge him for his position when piazon isn't regularly starting for a mid level club in Germany.

Hi ed, just wondered - are CFC currently interested in any senior English players?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - They may look to an English goalkeeper if they need to.}

I've asked 3 times now but it never comes through, is it that much of a dumb question lmao

Are chelsea interested in Rob Green?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is held for Ed002 to answer, but it is a dumb question, unless Chelsea are after a new kitman? At least then it wouldn't matter if he fumbled things.....}

Okay sorry about that, was wondering why it didn't come through and others did, my mistake :)

And lol, regardless of his high profile errors, I do think he's a solid keeper and would be a good choice for backup, of course Butland or Darlow would be first choice, but I would be confident with him as number 2 :)

Both of those guys have turned down offers from us before moving to their current clubs. I think we'd be more successful going for a guy on the backend of his career (like we did with schwarzer) ala rob green.
