Ed001 what's your view on the transfer ban decision?

{Ed001's Note - to be honest I have been out tonight so don't know what it was yet. I will no doubt cover it in the news round up in the morning, so I will make sure to put my personal view into it.}

The FIFA decision seems strange to me!

If we are found NOT guilty after an appeal we will have severed a transfer ban while being innocent.

I'm sure if that was the case, Chelsea could take legal action against FIFA for loss of earnings!

I don't think Fifa are bothered by any legal action. I think they are either trying to stamp their authority but obviously unfairly given that the Spanish clubs were treated differently. CAS need to look at this. Disgusting from Fifa.

Another way to look at it is that the club gambled with this past January transfer window. Some transfer deals could have been done like we did with Christian Pulisic (sign and leave on loan) rather than wait for a ruling that isn't certain under any FIFA law. When the board decided to take the decision (to sign players in the summer rather than the past winter transfer window) that could put us in a mess, I think they should have thought about the flip side.

We made a mistake and have to pay for it. We’ve been poor in the window for a number of years and haven’t progressed. Maybe now we’ll sign a real DOF and give the club some direction.

Maybe something happened in this past winter transfer window that I don't know of, but I feel the club should have utilized it more (esp like we did with Pulisic) .

The usual FIFA corruption. Managed to lock Chelsea's punishment during the appeal period, but Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico all managed to get leniency applied.
Farce. Hope we take them to the Court of Arbitration or whichever power has the ability to sort out FIFA's blatant favouritism.

Yeah they've just broken the precedent they themselves have set.

Pretty curious, but that's FIFA for you.

Looks as if FIFA overruled our request to freeze the ban during the appeal process.

I have a feeling that we are going to get the full ban, as a warning to other clubs. I hope that's not the case, looks like we're heading to arbitration.

Inexorably, as is the way with such things, it looks like we're heading for a Sarri v Napoli showdown in the EUFA Cup.
