angel di maria to chelsea ?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Looks as though it might happen as AVB wants to work with him again. also with madrid signing coentrao both he and marcelo can replace di maria on the left side.

Agree1 Disagree3

What do you mean again? he hasnt worked with him before di maria was at porto? if im wrong please tell me

Agree4 Disagree0

No, you're right - the other guy is wrong... Di Maria played at Benfica. {Ed018's Note - yea but AVB wasnt there when Di Maria was

Agree2 Disagree0

"yea but AVB wasnt there when Di Maria was"

AVB wasn't where - Benfica or Porto or the league? Di Maria was never at Porto and AVB was never at Benfica. So even if they were in the same league in a their respective capacities (in different years) they never had the opportunity to work together, which was the 3rd guys point.

Agree2 Disagree0

What the heck , , that whole thing didn't make any sense whatsoever ..

Agree0 Disagree1

Dude... there are 5 posts prior to yours. It would help if you mentioned which one didn't make any sense. Unless you're talking about your own post.

Continued:

Outs
Drogba: RM
Mikel: Juventus 15 Million
Anelka: MLS 6 Million
Zhirkov: One of three Russian teams 7 Million
Malouda: Juventus 16 Million
Sturridge: Arsenal 20 Million
Alex: B Munich 14 Million
Bosingwa: Porto 5 Million

Believable0 Unbelievable5

No way is Malouda worth over twice as much as Zhirkov. You're being as unfair with him as Ancelotti was...

Can't we just try and focus on anyone who is not in Argentina right now, for our squad?

I'm devastated with Emenalo appointment. Just when we turn the page and give our 15 million man a chance to run the football operation, this muppet sticks out with a sporting director position. Now this is complete nonsense. Predecessor couldn't make 1 single guy feature in first team on regular basis in 5 years, now comes a no one, from nowhere to run the scouting network and to help oversee the academy. No wonder we haven't scouted or signed anyone, when this kind of personnel runs the show. I mean the club goes and meets Txiki Begiristain for this position and then six months later promotes this guy.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Its an absoulute disgrace that ME has been given this power at the club. I don't care what his relationship with Roman is, chelsea need someone with a strong backround in developing talent as well as the ability to get the best out of the transfer market. I can't help but feel Claudio Ranieri would have excelled in this position, He played a massive role in the development of JT into the clubs finest ever captain, and also helping Frank make serious strides in his career. He was a diamond in the transfer market pulling players like Gallas from seemingly no-where and got us into the champions league on a shoestring in 2003 (saving the club and securing its long term future). Lets not forget he also bought in players like Joe Cole, Wayne Bridge, Makalele, Petr Cech and Robben. I for one would have loved to have seen Ranieri back at the bridge. Massive shame this appointment has happened after all the positive moves made with regards to the managment team recently.

Agree0 Disagree1

I have a feeling that neither of you actually have a clue what he does or know anything about him, he is very smart and knows a good player when he sees one. have faith in this club and the people that make desicions, otherwise you shouldn't support chelsea.

Agree1 Disagree1

I am fully aware he is an intelligent man, graduated from Boston Uni near the top of his class and could have had a career as a lawyer. I am also aware that the story of him coaching an u-12s girls team in the states before he got the oppostion scout job at chelsea is only partly true. I am aware however that during his time as an agent he was heavily invloved in the transfer of Mikel from Lyn Oslo, one of the biggest transfer fiascos of recent times, his playing career was far from glittering and and at the end of last year was still working towards getting his coaching badges. Fair enough I'm not his biggest fan especially after the Ray Wilkins episode, but I would rather see someone with some standing in the game, and preferably with links to the club in the sporting director role at the club I have supported since watching Mark Stein and Jon Spencer lead the line when I was just about old enough to kick a ball myself.

Agree0 Disagree1

Well why don't you give him a chance before symbolically firing him, Mister "I've been a Chelsea supporter longer than you...".

Neymar looks like he will join Madrid
Sanchez to Barca
Aguero to man city
Pastore ED says there is a chance but unlikely
Modric forced to stay at spurs
Sneijder seems to be no interest
Hulk Price way to high
Mata again no interest
Nasri again no interest
Ganso Ac milan

Looks like we will end up with the same story and buy a dud like Lakaku great.

We are clearly footballer's 4th choice after Barcelona, Real, and MU. This is really not good since we will get the unwanted from the other clubs

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Try 7th choice. Citeh, Milan, and Inter are probably ahead of us as well. {Ed018's Note - not city}

We are so slow at doing business, what is Chelsea's problem? why are they so slow at moving for obvious targets? I give up no, whatever happens, happens but I for one am not very enthusiastic.

In an ideal world it would be sneijder and schweinsteiger or de rossi. Would be overextatic if anyone of them would be available to us. But at the rate we are going, might be buying 7 in january this time around. The reason we got Torres and David Luiz in january and didn't finalize Neymar, just shows that we tend to drag and hold on to our view and value, but are left with nothing at the end of the day. Could we finally sort the transfer mess we are in. Nothing positive has happened in improving our squad since the first season under Mourinho. Althouth he inherited an amazing squad assembled by Ranieri. DLuiz, Ramires - yes, we seem to get along with their agent pretty well, Torres - time will tell. Also like Brana. But rest is a pity act, which should have never been bought in the first place.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Totally agree. Where other clubs have taken decisive steps towards strengthening their squad we have fallen behind and we the fans try to find glimpses of hope out of nothing. Maybe the quite way we are going about transfers is actually quiet because nothing is happening. The danger is we are becoming indifferent and irrelevant.

Agree6 Disagree0

I don't understand why AVB wanted to wait to see the squad, He should already no what needs doing at ChelseaWe always end up missing out on the big names. Ok we got Torres but come on You cant have one of the best strikers in the world playing with a team that can't create anything what so ever Nasri, Modric, Tevez, Aguer All players that have been available for some time now yet still, , nothing

AVB plans to play a 4-3-3 with 2 holding and 1 creative midfielder
------- Pastore -------
- Essien -- Ramires -

Backups: M'Vila, Lampard, Mikel, McEach and Benayoun

Will be like this :) {Ed018's Note - just so you know, essien suffered a knee injury today and may be out for a while. also at porto AVB played with one holding mid}

Believable0 Unbelievable8

Or pastore sorry

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Me2 I think he would suit that posiion down to a T A back four of VDW Alex Terry an cole, with Luiz sitting in front of them with 2 attacking mids

Lets hope villas boas gives him a go there pre season, even more of a chance with essien injured

Essien badly injured in training. Same knee (right). Await scans.

Another A.C.L. injury for this young man and it's over. Time to dip in for another midfielder? Too right

Suggestions for an Essien replacement anyone?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Josh to step up alongside Mikel Pastore, Ramires and Modric. Possibly Luiz.......

"Josh to step up alongside Mikel Pastore, Ramires and Modric. Possibly Luiz......."

Oh, we've signed Pastore and Modric? Chances of signing one of them is slim, let alone both...

ED002 do you think David Luiz could play infront of the back 4 we have seen he has great feet and can play there? {Ed002's Note - Yes and he has played there before.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

He started in brazil at dm but was unsuccesful before being moved to cb i dont understand why he failed at dm because he has all the attributes for that position

If I say that I'm slightly apprehensive about the current situation at Stamford Bridge I will just be told not to worry. We've just got AVB in, I just don't understand why we aren't making the signings/ I know we're linked with loads of players, but they're all £40+ rated, and lets face it, we wouldn't get all of them. We can't even get one at the moment. The situation with age remains the same and if we're going to challenge stronger next season we need to let a few go, and restock. Get in some young talent, take a few risks etc. Keep the experienced like JT, Lamps, Didier, but let go of the fringe players who prove useless. I never expected a mass overhaul but it's looking more and more likely everyday that our line up will be the same on the first day this season as it was on the last day last season. Hope for some new comings and goings soon.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

The team only reported for training on Wednesday. AVB already said he was going to assess the squad in training and then make decisions if needed. Im sure it wont take him long to realise what needs to be done. Although i did have a horrible dream the other night that come the start of the season our front 3 will still be Malouda, Drogba and Anelka. Please surely not

Agree8 Disagree0

I'm almost having the same bad dream mate. Except that Kalou is in place of Anelka. =/

this goes to all or any of the eds, do you think in all honesty we will sign big this summer? it doesnt look that way. thanks {Ed018's Note -we will sign some new players. i dont know what constitutes as signing big, and we have no idea how a new player will fit in at the club. dont worry to much about it. theres a ways to go in the transfer period and high profile deals usually drag on.}

I really hope that Chelsea dont sign Modric & Neymar. What a waste of £75m. Look at the signing Ranieri made (before he got the tin tack) Big Pete and Robben to name a few. We need to get back to the days of signing young players who can add long term value to the team not high net worth players who are here for the money.. Think we would have learnt our lesson with Robinho...

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Hmmmm.... don't recall us ever signing Robinho.

Agree7 Disagree3

I think chelsea's problem is that theyr'e not willing to take the risk on the lesser known players any more.they seem to want to wait untill they have grown into a so called superstar then declare their interest, then lose out to one of the spanish teams or man s**tty

Agree9 Disagree2

Robinho...no we never did sign him. The point I was making was that these overpriced players who think they are bigger than the club, just follow the money...hence Robinho

Agree3 Disagree7

"We need to get back to the days of signing young players who can add long term value to the team not high net worth players who are here for the money."

Well, good luck with that dreamer boy. Have you seen the price tags on young players out there who are good enough for Chelsea? Face facts, 2003 was then, 2011 is now. The moment that Chelsea show any interest in a young starlet, his transfer fee suddenly quadruples. And how do you figure that the transfer fee of a player is in his own hands? It's his existing club that sets the price. He negotiates his own wages, true, but where has it been stated that Neymar and Modric are asking for silly wages like Aguero?

The point that you are making on Robinho is bogus. For one thing, Real Madrid sold to the highest bidder. That wasn't Robinho's fault. Do you think that Chelsea would sell Drogba to OM for £10M if Galatasary offered £15-20M? No, we would sell to the Turkish club.

You don't have to spend a ton of money on a player to acquire someone who thinks that they're bigger than the club... I present to you - Florent Malouda. And it's a bit hypocritical of you to slag off potentially new Chelsea players only being in it for the money when you have existing Chelsea players who allow rumours of them getting sold to other teams to fester so they negotiate huge wage increases.

i think its time to stop believing the hype the tabloids and crap internet sites are cooking up they make for poor reading with no substance which is all that seems to happen since we landed a megabucks owner, don't get me wrong i know as well as everyone else there will be some big signings avb was the first but i think it gonna be a long wait to see the doors open for our first player signing(We chelsea fans know they don't like to do things the simple way)heres to a great reign with avb at the helm whoever he may sign.

VB is buillding the team around torres I hope not, I thought he was better than that. What makes you think Torres is going to improve?

Believable0 Unbelievable12

What makes you think that he's building the team around Torres - when he hasn't brought any new players in yet

What makes you think that Torres ISN'T going to get back in form? Unless you're some kind of psychic, we'll just have to wait and see, won't we?

Agree8 Disagree2

Er Torres will be assume next year cause saw a bid 2day and he's grown his long blonde hair back:)

Agree1 Disagree6

No, he really hasn't grown his blond hair back...

I watched blues news last night and Torres was on a exercise bike, indeed the blonde flowing locks were back.
