Terry, Ivanovic, Fabregas, are out of form. Costa is a lose canon. Very strange that so many important players are far away from their best at the same time. Maybe they are really burned?
If that's the case it will take some time to get back.

3 first three guys are struggling due to their weaknesses being exposed when they weren't last year. Terry's been left isolated in the middle more this year and he's been slow for years. Fabregas has never been good defensively but our whole midfields been getting exposed making his deficiencies more glaring. Ivanovic is the only one that's taken a major step back but he was never very mobile. People are finally calling his bluff and running right at him.

Just a quick post.

This isn't likely to happen but I'd absolutely love to see Azpilicueta as our next captain even ahead of Cahill. He's so consistent and passionate I think he would flourish with the armband.

Completely agree. Furthermore he seems to genuinely love the club and could easily become a legend here, that combined with his abilities on field, I see no reason why he couldn't be the new captain.

I agree with the previous posts, however, I don't think Dave will ever captain Chelsea.
Every team, no matter how big, needs the players who deliver week in week out, without ever being regarded as a superstar. He falls into this category and whilst us fans regonise his ability and input it will not be until he retires that his real dedication to our club will be recognized. FFS this is the Spanish international RB playing at LB (a totally different position)for his club side. Words cannot express the admiration I feel for this guy.He will be a posthumous legend for us when actually he deserves to be a legend now.
I'm hoping that when Iva goes next summer(and he will)he gets the chance to be the best RB we've ever had. It would be nice to appreciate him while he's still playing rather than realise what we had afterwards.

As an addendum, I really don't see who our next captain will be, Matic maybe, I think the responsibility would add , rather than detract, to his game.

The captain is surely more about personality and leadership on and, just as importantly, off the field. Us mere supporters don't know enough about the group dynamics off the field to make a judgement.

I have always felt Azi could be our next Captain also and I agree it takes personality and leadership BUT also an ability to be assertive when dealing with an ego or poor performance. It not about shouting but getting every players respect for the job you are trying to do.

Can't remember who said it, but someone said our public image should be improved.

Can not agree more! We need Mourinho to stop the attacks on refs other managers ect.

The diving can stop, and stop the public shambing of doctors ect!

It would only help. The media right now (Facebook ect) is full of negative things about chelsea. It's horrible to see as a chelsea fan.

There is an expression "the bigger you are, the harder you fall" and at the moment JM is going through that and we all would like him, before the Villa game, to concentrate on the job in hand. He gets it right and he can crow a bit at a later date but all these post match rants and having a go at Wenger is irritating for all not least Abramovich and has left him open to masses of criticism; not one rant has ever changed the result.

I am sure it was raised when he had his meeting with the Board. Let results speak for themselves. Over time we will find out the extent of whatever has caused the early season problems.

I love it when mourinho goes on one cost most times he's right his first years some of the stuff he kept going on about were magical and the game where he named the barca squad also eggs and omelettes class, I think the stuff he says about refs is true about the FA and decisions they overturn/make are true. When he did it when we were winning it was a masterclass people pundits saying he's taking all the pressure off the players and directing attention else where Now people are saying because we're not winning he's bringing the club down and making us look bad Come on the mans a genius and he loves the club mourinho is mourinho stand by him there's know one better

In the past he's used these tactics to take pressure off the team, unfortunately the results have been so poor that it would take one hell of a scene to take the attention away from the performances so far.

Mou has made the commitment to a long term contract at a club he has a genuine affection for, something that is new to him. He has to adapt to a situation he has never been in before, he is intelligent and he will adapt in time. We(the fans) need to be patient. It will happen, he will be our Sir Alex for years to come, if, we can see beyond the "right now" scenario.
