With Ashley cole getting on a bit is Bertrand really a good enough replacement to fill the void in a team like Chelsea? I like the idea of another homegrown left back taking the reigns but I don't think he is title challenging quality.

Jose Angel looks promising but the ideal replacement imo would be Schennikov of CSKA due to his tireless work rate (much like Cole's). {Ed061's Note - Bertrand has a terrific work rate. He is still young and is learning an enormous amount from Ashley. He may not be as quick as Ash at 23, but he is certainly no slouch and offers something going forward. He also has a real passion for the club and after CL final he is as determined as ever to make his mark on the game. I think Bertrand could have a long successful career at Chelsea myself.}

Agree with ed every time he plays left back he plays very well.

What if C.Ronaldo plays for Barca and Messi for Real, who do u think will do better?

Bas!cs. {Ed061's Note - Real Madrid for me.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I think both players are a better fit for their team. Messi is selfless and fits with barca. Ronaldo is ruthless and fits with Madrid.

Just remember guys.....yes there will be a time where we win 4/5 in a row , but there will also be times where maybe we go 2 or 3 matches without a win. From the performance yesterday, let's accept that in times of bad , we know the quality is there , and so will inevitably shine through.

Jm10

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Sry I don't accept that it has to happen and if it does then I will look at who we lost to(can't just be any team) and did RDM put us in a position to win(with team selection and in-game management) and we were just out-played or unlucky.

Well after international break.....
we have two tough matches ahead of us.....
Tottenham ( away ) and Man Utd ( home )......
well tottenham started playing well under AVB from last 2-3 matches .......
and looks dangerous on counter attacks........
well against tottenham the team selection will be key n RDM knows it so i guess he will start ramires and mikel in pivot role.......
against man utd he might start with ramires and romeu in pivot....
man utd are playing well upfront but still they are not able to control the mid field area and thats where ramires and romeu will be better options than lampard n mikel .......
i guess we will keep clean sheet against tottenham with 2-0 victory......
n against man utd it will be high goal scoring match with 4-2 victory for us......
its 2 early to say so.....
but i can sence it......
torres to score a goal against tottenham and will score double against man utd......
so wen man utd gonna visit stamford bridge.....
so we gonna fu*ck red hot a*ss and send it back to old fu*cking trafford......!!!!

hi a leeds fan here can i ask a question that i have often wondered what did you guys think of ken bates when he was your chairman?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

For me Ken Bates is a difficult one. While he was outspoken and showed at times a complete lack of respect to the fans (and everyone in general), he also saved the club from bankruptcy, secured the freehold of Stamford Bridge and undertook massive redevelopment of the ground. He is a massive part of the clubs history, and without him, I am certain we would not be in the position we are in now, purely because he made the club attractive for investment. He did nearly bankrupt the club again though with that loan he took out against the ground, and his slurs against fans groups and Matt Harding were disgusting, but in his 21 years at Chelsea he did a great deal of good, which I for one am grateful for.

Oscar wants Neymar at Chelsea.

Neymar says his Brazilian team-mate Oscar wants him to join Chelsea and is a "very good salesman".
The 20-year-old Santos star has been tipped to make a big-money move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid next season.
But he revealed Blues midfielder Oscar is doing his best to persuade him to pick Stamford Bridge over fellow Brazilian Dani Alves' Barcelona.

"Oscar messages me to tell me what a great club Chelsea is and what a great city London is" Neymar was quoted as saying.
"He and Dani are both very good salesmen for their club.
"When the time is right I will listen to to the right offers that my agent has for me. It is very simple: if Barcelona are interested you listen, if Real Madrid are interested you listen, if Chelsea are interested you listen
"There are maybe five clubs in the world that you know you must at least listen to."

The final 11 players we ended up with on the pitch yesterday is probably my ideal team for this season!
CFCFOREVER!

Believable13 Unbelievable1

07 Oct 2012 07:11:18
Who do people think is the player who has really stepped up their game this season? Personally I'd say either David Luiz who was superb in the last three games or Ivanovic who seems to have a new element of attacking football to his game. Any other nominees?
EH17 {Ed061's Note - For me personally EH17 Ivanovic has been a beast going forward but leaves us far too exposed to counters. RDM obviously wants the fullbacks getting right up the pitch and making overlapping runs on the wings but Ash pushes back straight away if the ball is lost, Branislav jogs slowly. While his is offering what he is going forward we should utilise him, but once his defensive awareness starts costing us Cesar needs to be given a run. He is great going forward and is a terrific defender!}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

David luiz for me, only fault is his stupid long ball punts.

Good News

1) Kevin de Bruyne playing well at weder bremen. he has played 7 games and scored 3 goals so far.

2) joshua mceachran is getting good first team football at bourough. he has played 8 matches so far. news feeds from bourough pages say that he is a crowd favourite. his accurate passing has surprised many pundits.

3) romelu lukaku looks like scoring everytime he plays at west brom. in 4 matches he has notched 2 goals.

these 3 players would be knocking for first team places next season. good to see them doing well.

I hate how referees seem to never give fouls on hazard, especially in the penalty area. I hate how they just assume he has dived, when 90% of the time it should be given

Jm10

Believable5 Unbelievable0

07 Oct 2012 09:02:29
i would hardly say they never give him penalties

to be fair to the ref yesterday would of been an embarressment for norwich and we were 3-1 up thats the only reason i can think he didnt get a penalty a 0-0 or 1-0 they would of been given

curt {Ed061's Note - That is not a reasonably reason not to give a penalty. Whether if it is 0-0,3-2 or 8-0 if a player commits a foul in the box which denies a goal scoring opportunity the penalty should be given.}

Agree3 Disagree1

07 Oct 2012 11:19:38
im merely stating 061 the reason why ref's dont give penalties at certain points in the game

its the same if a ref gives a penalty that shouldnt be a penalty they spend the rest of the game trying to find a reason to give the other team a penalty

plus hazard won the most penalties in europe last year so i suspect ref's are going to be less likely to point to the spot with him

i agree a penalty is a penalty but im just saying score line often affects a ref's decision

curt

Agree0 Disagree3

Agree there ed! But it's the easy way out for the ref!

Agree1 Disagree0

Hazard should have had a Penalty against qpr and juventus aswell, which would of won us both games

Jordan

Agree2 Disagree0

Not comfortable with ur reasoning Curt, that refs are not paid to decide goal difference and embarressment. Aslo not sure why u r defending ur opinion as if it were fact when tbh u don't know what refs think.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Oct 2012 17:32:01
im defending it because its my opinion not because im saying its fact

if you watched el classico last night you would of seen there were 2 penalties madrids wasnt given so barcas wasnt anyone who watches football can see how the ref's are influenced
