Ed002 is it possible Chelsea may look to Everton's John Stones if other targets for CB are not available?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer "is it possible ... if" questions.}

Don't see why we would want stones we have zouma probably the best young prospect in world football as a centre half all the English players get built up and the media and transfer rumours destroy these young players remember how good Micah Richards was we were linked with a 20 million move a good few years back which was crazy money for a right back I might also add look at Ross Barkley he has done nothing after all the talk last 2 years andros thowsend Walcott joe Allen Henderson and a pile load of others who never stepped up spend might argue Henderson but I think he's very average

After tonight, Dom Solanke must get a full first team debut before the end of the season. What a player he could become, potential to be our best ever striker in my opinion!

With united signing Depay, it leaves us right open to get Bale? For the right price I think he could be a wonderful addition, he could just be the final piece of the puzzle and Willian would be more than a decent back-up let's be honest we play lots of games and Bale those have spells out. Honestly think we should go for him or Griezmann ( who I think is more realistic), Willian has been good but we just need that sort of Hazard treat on the other flank plus Diego up top to go a step forward and challange the top 3 in europe.

I know it doesn't seem likely maybe that's why I went for Griezmann earlier but the more I think about it why not? His number 11 would be open, he gets to work with Jose, back in London and he'll be playing for the champions and know he is joing a group of winners. We should test the water with Bale if it isn't going to happen then definitely Griezmann.

PS. Love to know what you guys think, you too Ed018 if you have the time.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - I agree. A Bale or Griezmann would be an improvement on Willian as you are gonna get more goals and assists from those two. Move Willian centrally and let him fight it out with Oscar for that position, providing Oscar is still here. But I've been a been saying for a while that they need to improve the Rw position. I know a lot of people are always talking about Willians work rate, tracking back and whatever else that doesn't involve creating and scoring goals but a right attacking mid needs to be contributing with some goals and assists. Don't get me wrong though I like Willian and at this point he is playing better than Oscar}

Willian can offer a lot to the team in a number of positions which seems to be a preference for the club of late. He never has been an out & out winger in his career, but he can certainly offer a regular 7/10 performance when called upon. When played in the middle he's a much more influential player. he ran the show for Shakhtar in both games against us in Europe.

Bale would definitely be a dream signing. HG, a good age, very direct and his experience at one of the biggest clubs in the world would be invaluable and would fit the winning mentality being established in our squad right now. The only concern
I would have is not the transfer amount, rather the enormous wages he'd command - would have abig impact from an FFP perpsective (whether or not that's a serious issue remains to be seen).

Trouble is bale is not coming don't Matter who utd sign

{Ed018's Note - way to offer something to the discussion Pinky}

07 May 2015 23:16:33
I would love it if we could sign Bale. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely, the transfer fee combined with the wages is going to be pretty expensive, and I feel like we need another quality CM as well. I would go for Griezmann and Koke/Gomes instead

Bale would be good, but wiuld he hit a top form.is another question. Big money transfers doesn't seem to work very well for us :)

Ed018, are we dumping Cuadrado then?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed018's Note - no, but it's pretty clear that Cuadrado is no improvement on Willian. I don't doubt that he will improve next season but Bale and Greizmann are both better players. And I get that we aren't gonna get them it's just for the sake of discussion}

08 May 2015 18:29:42
Aron you really don't understand football as a game. The only reason that Bale could possibly leave Real is CR7 and some kind of issue among those two. Club which gets Bale will dominate next five years.
Not to mention economic side of the deal. If club wants to make a lot of money by selling jerseys etc is to have big stars. Last year we made 100m£ MCFC 147m£, MUFC 168m£ and PSG made 248m£.
It is very important who we sign.
Comparison between Bale and Griezman is ridiculous. One is already mega star and the other one is very promising young player with one fantastic season behind.

Griezmann has scored over 20 league goals for an Atletico side that isn't exceptional in attack (IMO). I think that is very very impressive. Bale is very good as well but I'm a big fan of Griezmann and keeping prices in mind I'd be more in favour of getting the Frenchman.
Though my absolute preference would be bringing Traore back from loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2015 22:19:19
Jackson, Traore will probably be loaned to Portuguese club Setubal.
Griezman is 24 and Bale 25,just compare their careers up to now and both players physical abilities as well as PL experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2015 08:22:19
I just believe Traore has the ability to become a world beater, that boy is class. If he gets loaned out again it should be a more challenging one than in Portugal. Germany would be good for him IMO as it's similar to the English one in terms of style of play. I don't see Portugal as a step up from the Eredivisie.

DONT bite my head off here but yaya toure looks to be available would it hurt to sign him on a two year deal and let RLC learn off him and bed him into the squad now and then. Still think toure has got it just not happy at city. I no signing Pogba would be long term better off but I do think in 5 years or even less he would be on the move again. Also I think the transfer will go on and on fed up already of his agent saying he's going and juve saying he's stopping. just my opinion

No thanks. he can be a liability when his heads not right. He'd cost a packet including wages and not what we need right now IMO.

07 May 2015 13:21:41
Yes it would hurt a lot. Financially and the fact we could have gotten someone younger.

Yaya Toure next to Matic would be a killer, but it is highly unlikely.

07 May 2015 14:49:14
antibot. maybe a couple of years ago! Toure looks lost when playing in a deeper midfield role.

This is the sort of signing that would have happened a few years back, not these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2015 17:22:30
This is the sort of signing that would never happen, in the past or in the future. Toure is the best MCFC player with off course Aguero.

Agree0 Disagree2

07 May 2015 17:30:08
Disagree entirely. he's had a really poor season and has been almost non-existant since December.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 May 2015 18:37:01
Steve you probably have forgotten that Toure won ACN in January and that he is officially the best African player.
MCFC has lost almost all games they've played without him.
MCFC wasn't good in the second half of the season mainly due to extremely bad management by Pellegrino.Their transfer policy was terrible in last twelve months.

10 May 2015 08:57:46
I haven't forgotten anything thanks.

Regardless of what the Ivory Coast did, he has been extremely poor this season, has displayed a poor attitude and is on the way down. Too expensive and 100% not the right fit for our club going forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2015 13:54:53
Oh,god I never said that Chelsea should sign Toure. Even if we want to sign him MCFC would never sell him to us.

ED,

Could you see us bidding for Benteke as reported?

also I have heard there is interest in toby alderweireld?

thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of interest from Chelsea in either.}

07 May 2015 09:03:22
Hi Ed are Barca still considering selling Messi?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed.}

07 May 2015 00:35:22
Ed002, I have a two part question,
Do you know does Varane actually want to to leave Madrid or is he open to the idea of leaving?

What alternative centre halves are the club going to pursue this summer?It seems to be a lost cause trying to get Madrid to sell Varane.

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get in to diuscussing whether players want to move or not. Chelsea has shown an interest in Varane, Balanta (unlikely) and Marquinhos (won't happen as he has signed a new contract).}

07 May 2015 16:01:25
Ok Ed002.You said a few weeks back in a post that you think that he may come.Do you remain of the opinion that Varane may well arrive in the summer because the of the effort the club are making to get him?

Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is interest - I have explained. There is no convoluted answer.}

07 May 2015 17:32:04
It depends from his club and player as well. Recently Varane started to play regularly and that fact is changing things quite a lot. There is a possibility that Varane could push out Pepe from starting XI next season.
Also, I am not sure that Real is ready to sell Varane to Chelsea or MUFC.
