Good game and good lineup though I would have started CHO or brought him on as first sub. Like I said a few months ago we need to do everything we can to hold onto him and play him in games.

I thought Sarri's comments about CHO were ridiculous.

Basically, telling an 18 year old that he'll be ready for the first team in 4 or 5 years time when he's 22 or 23 is just pushing him to leave.

If Bayern, one of the biggest clubs in the World, thinks he's ready, who the flip is Sarri to disagree!

Miss Darren, Sarri might've also meant that CHO can obviously still improve so that he's at the top of his game by the time he's 23 or so.

That doesn't necessarily mean that Sarri doesn't think he's ready for the first team now. Just that there are things he can definitely improve upon, which is certainly correct.

I don’t think he meant what he said, it is very silly to say he’ll be ready at 22 or 23 because you have Rashford and many other players providing at 18-21. I don’t think he meant what he said completely.

gg, Sarri does come out with some ridiculous statements - he does himself no favours. And, Jackson - if Sarri thinks that CHO is ready now, why doesn't he bloody well play him!

Ed, would you prefer if we integrate Reece James who we already have, or should we go all out for Bissaka if we get the chance?

{Ed001's Note - I think clubs should always try to use their youth players rather than buying. I mean Wan-Bissaka only got a chance because all of Palace's right backs were injured and they needed someone in a training game, so he got seconded. He was actually a winger. He was so good one-on-one in the training game that they decided to keep him there and gave him a shot in a match. Now he is arguably the best player they have. Who knows how good James would be given the chance to train with the first team and play alongside them? All this loaning them out is utter cack from people who have no idea about youth development. It works in such a small proportion of cases that it is clearly not the answer. They have to train with the best players and coaches possible, which they are not going to find in the lower leagues, to really reach their potential. It is not like the old days when players played in the streets to refine their techniques.}

Roman i am surprised you have included maguire on this list. I don't know why is he so hyped about?

I live in Leicester and go to watch quite a few kf their games and believe me he by no means is a top 6 material. I actually even believe that Leicester have better defenders than him in their own team.

Really agree with your assessment Ed spot on as usual
I’d love to see us throw our youth in it’s truly the only way we’d know if they’re good enough like you say otherwise all that’s going to happen is we’re going to loose them.

{Ed001's Note - the problem is that, in the short term, a mistake by a youngster could cost a result and managers are in the results game, not in the building a club for the long term game.}

No exactly mate but in the same regard first team players still make mistakes and surely you see someone’s character after they’ve made one I know it’s not ideal but it’s a good way of seeing someone’s character
Was hoping to see Cho get a game tonight do you honestly think Sarri trusts him Ed01?

Yeah of course mate I hope he stays because I think he’s got unbelievable potential and with Pedro and Willian the wrong side of 30 I feel he needs to just bide his time.

Yeah him and James are definitely the stand outs from the youth for me think we need some playing get a bit of identity back in the team.

No idea how Willian sees every game, play Hudson-Odoi a few games and make Willian work for the position not have it handed to him. Our handling of youth is nothing short of awful.
