I see a lot of posts on here talking about the way RDM plays defensive football. I don't fully agree with this but I don't disagree with it. Lets remember that RDM was playing with a squad that had a lot of defensively minded players, and then with the attacking player we had inconsistency, I love Torres but he didn't always get his chance and service, Drogba would only turn up on big occasions and Sturridge would be greedy. We had three defensive midfield players in Romeu, Mikel and Essien and four centre backs and two left backs and two right backs. So you can see why it was very much using the best strategy to get the best out of your players, and this is what Roberto did. RDM in my opinion is the best man for the job, and as someone has pointed out, his man management it awesome. Let's see what he can do with this new squad and then judge him.
What do you think Chaps?

That is very beautiful mate but Bruma has gone on a second year loan to Hamburg and is not expected to return... more likely to be Tomas Kalas or Nathan Ake.

I think it's ok, although as has already been mentioned by the eds, Bruma is unlikely to ever return, and I would also like to see at least a few of the players in your league cup team to be loaned out, rather than kept at the club for probably only 3-4 games next season. Plus, some older players always play with the youngsters, for experience, do any people still at the club next year, taking less of an active role (Essien? Ferreira?) would probably be involved in any such line up.
I like the idea though, give the youngsters as much time as possible, but think the experience would be better earned playing real premier league opposition, with the majority of the first team around them.
I'm hoping to see some more starts for people like Bertrand next year, as well as hopefully cameo roles for the liked if Chalobah, Ake and Piazon.

I would expect Mikel to start more games than Lampard. Kalas and Bruma are both going on loan again. I would also say Lukaku would play cup matches with Sturridge as back up in both.

Cech, turnbull, hillario - need a stronger back to cech miss cudichini
Ivanovic, bosingwa, ferrera, Luiz, Terry, cahill, bruma, Cole, Bertrand - bosingwa and ferrera can go need another Cole down the right flank looks like VDW
Romeu, lampard, essien, mikel, Ramirez, marin, piazon, chalobah, mc eachren, de bruyen - why the talk of fellani not needed especially for the price we got the youth let's bring them trough we got to many midfielders for the formation if we stick with 4-2-3-1 ( which suits us best )
Torres, sturridge, kalou, mata, malouda, lukaku, lalkovic, hazard- well what an attack I think it's time for kalou and malouda to move on bring in hulk and I think we can win back to back champions league we don't need to waste money on players that are not needed were strong enough let's bring on the youth something we ain't seen since JT came trough

doumbia is 24 yes
but people are saying theres concerns over his age (they obviously think hes older) understanding ?
so why do people have them concerns. read carefully
we should sign him hes a good player

There are all concerns over African players ages due to birth certificates not always being present at birth and or not being filled out correctly. I for one dont think we should sign him as there are better out there especially considering CSKA want an absurd amount of money for someone of his quality.

I support everton but have a soft spot for chelsea. I would play with your team:
----------------Cech-------------------
Ivanovic----Terry-------Cahill-------Cole
Ramires----------Mata-------------Marin
-----------Hulk--------Hazard-----------
-----------------Torres-----------------
This is if you complete the signings of Hazard, Marin and Hulk. Thought???

Dont need to worry about that are attack will constantly have the ball with an attack like that you dont really need defensive mids the back four should do there job properly busquets at barca is the furthest forward "defendsive midfielder" iv ever seen infact puyol spends most his time in the opponents half aswel

When did I say barca would get blown away? The team mentioned above is not as good as barca, it can't be as as yet it doesn't even exist. Barca did not just happen over night it took years, but people seem to think a couple of great buys and suddenly we've got the best team to ever play in the premier league! Yes we won the champs league something I as a fan have waited for 47 years to see!! But don't think for one moment that we are the best team in Europe right now, you only have to check out last seasons table for that.

Good to hear we are getting more likely to giving RDM the job, he got us that Holy Grail which was what we wanted. On another note, pleased with Marin and Hazard being signed, both got great potential and will be a huge step up from Malouda and co. If Hulk joins that gives us another world-class winger with strength, pace and power. If we need a new midfield enforcer, I think they genuinely need to be better than Mikel/Essien or at least on par with them. Getting rid of Bosingwa means we need a new RB, but to be honest, I think Hutchinson, Ivan, a new RB and David can cover that position between then until Ake matures. In terms of strikers, I think Welliton from Spartak Moskva would be a good option, nice strike record and has a lot of pace, would be a good off-the-bench/reserve option. For a better aerial power and more strength, Lewandoski looks a very good prospect, but price might be an issue.Obviously my preferred choice would be Falcao, but that might be too expensive at the moment. As for young players, I'd love to see us buy Powell, I watch a lot of league two football and he has looked better than league two level for a long time, easily could be England's new Lampard/Gerrard. Also Boileson from Ajax as cover for Bertrand when Cole retires and he can also play CB/RB? I think.
Ideal transfers for me:
In
Hazard
Marin
Hulk
VDW/Azplicueta
Lewandoski/Welliton
Powell
Boileson
Outs
Malouda
Bosingwa
Kalou
Essien
Ferreira (Retires?)
Hilario
Loans
Lukaku
McEachran
Courtois
De Bruyne
Bamford
Chalobah?
Obviously I don't think this will happen, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on it regulars (Shed End, Melbourne, OsgoodIsKing)

Beyond the short term winnings, no I do not think RDM fits with where CFC want to go. Need someone who has been through transitional periods like Pep and can bring on young players. All RDM has done is make the oldies play.
Agree0
Disagree1
The players you mentioned to bring in are good, but I don't currently see a need for another striker, just because Torres will play up top and then we have Sturridge to cover him and Hulk(?) who can play in there as well. The rest of the players look good!

Good post mate.
Regarding the manager issue, i am unsure tbh. I love RDM and he is a Chelsea boy through and through, and obviously he got us the Holy Grail. I beleive he is the perfect man to manage our new stars such as Hazard, Hulk (potentially), and Marin, due to the fact his man management is second to none and he will let them know all about Chelsea and what we're about. However...we won the Champs League by playing defensive, counter attacking football. Now i know that was literally the only way we could have won it due to the players we had, so tactically he did everything perfect. But it will be interesting to see if he can completely change our style of play to an attacking free flowing passing game. Honestly i don't know, but i do think he deserves a chance to show RA if he can. As for Guardiola, for me he is still unproven and it would still be a risk giving him the job. Yes he won nearly every trophy with Barca, but the team he had was unbeleivable. If he plays that style of play with us then in the Premiership it will not work as well as it did in Spain, the success wouldn't be as overwhelming as it was at Barca. The 2 leagues are a complete different kettle of fish. I think he is a fantastic manager but he won't guarantee success by any means. For me it would be what seems to be the most popular choice of RDM for a season, if it doesnt work out then get Pep.
Regarding the player issue, i think the main problem has been more than addressed. Kalou and possibly Malouda out, Hazard, Marin and potentially Hulk in. We were crying out for creativity on the wings and now we have it. The right back position, can't say theres too much out there that impresses me tbh, for me i'd trust Hutchinson as Ivans back-up. If it isn't working by January then we can address it then, but its time we started giving our youngsters a chance instead of replacing the players that leave with new ones. And after his fight back from retirement i think Hutchinson more than deserves it.
Centre Midfield, i want Mvilla or Modric. I know we have enough in there already with Frank, Mikel, Essien, Ramires, Romeu, Raul basically fighting for 2 places, but i want a bit more quality. Either get Modric to link up the play and risk being weak in there defensively. Or get Mvilla to add some steel, we've missed that since Essien got injured.
Striker, i don't want Falcao, Cavani or Higuain. That just completely undermines Nando and i don't want the club to do that. He is our main striker from now on, he gets judged as from next season when we actually play the football that suits him. I'd like someone young who has a bit of quality and potential, for me it has to be Schurrle.
Youngsters, if they go on loan then has to be premiership or championship teams. If they don't then they have to get some game time and spend all of their time around the first team squad learning. No point staying and playing in ressiez.
Thats my thoughts anyway mate.

Hey guys,
If chelsea were buying a centre foward would you want it to be a drogba like centre fowardwho is strong, powerful in the air and good at holding the ball up or a centre fowars like torres who is fast and a good dribbler.
Personally i like the drogba type of centre fowrd because they afe usually less injury prone and are well equiped for epl life

I'd prefer someone similar to Aguero. He is pure quality. Incredibly difficult to get off the ball, great acceleration and very gifted technically. A real shame we didnt manage to sign him.
So, perhaps Falcao would be the next best thing.

y chelsea official kits are so expensive. i was in india last month and searched for chelsea jersey in market. the original kit was very costly (85 australian dollars). but i got a fake kit (99.9 percent like original kit) for 12 australian dollars. the large price of jerseys keeps fans away. hope chelsea fc change their price policy for india and china and gain access to 1.22+1.30 billion people. i bet they would sell like hot cakes.
