Don't worry, we were second highest goal scorers in league last with Torres and ba, add lukaku to the equation and there is not a problem. Why all the fuss over another goalscorer?
Because Torres is worthless and Ba isn't a top European striker. Lukaku is 20 and if we want to compete in champions league we need someone who helps our team rather than hinders overall play.
Cali
We also want to compete in the premier league. last 2 years no potent striker = 6th and 3rd.
Ye we came 6 th with drogba, what's that telling you about how we play, and the strikers not scoring?
Torres worthless? You're having a laugh.

Supposedly Klopp has just said that Lewandowski's off to Bayern. So that rules out him, and Cavani seems to be off to PSG.
Looks like Nando's going to have to get his shootnig boots on
07 Jul 2013 17:49:58
with cavani, falcao, and lewandowski seemingly gone I think we should really turn our attention to Jovetic. The media says he wants a move to juve but juve have just signed Fernando Llorente and Tevez, and also have matri, quagriella, vucinic (spelling). They seem to be sorted with strikers so that leaves us and city to bid for him.
I don't think Gomez would work well in mourinho's system because he is a box player and contributes very little in build up play and counter attacking football. He would just become isolated like torres and ba last season.
Madrid will be looking to sign suarez now that they have missed out on other targets. And if they don't sigh him I wouldn't expect them to sell higuain.
Rooney would be great as well as jovetic but I don't see him coming to chelsea.
Hulk-not a true striker
Damiao-not good enough
Suarez-Wouldn't want him at the club
Negredo or Soldado?-maybe
If we miss out on Cavani I'd like to see Jovetic or Soldado, although Soldado is a few years older
07 Jul 2013 16:41:02
If Rooney joined now I would be pleased, fantastic player on his day, can score and create, works very hard all over the pitch.
If Suarez joined now I would be annoyed, caused controversy wherever he has played, Ajax, Pool and internationaly, and now to mention his actions Vs us last year. Really hope the romoured interest is false.
07 Jul 2013 16:34:09
Klopp has confirmed Lewandowski will join Bayern Munich on a free next summer.

Is there genuine interest in De Rossi, or is it just the papers talking crap as usual? Cheers

Looks like a very slow transfer window for us really we only need a world striker and a dfm and a young solid defender clubs wanna hold us for ransom OMG just like the cavani saga. Shurrle and van ginkel are for the future
The window opened 7 days ago and we've signed 2 very good young players and are in talks with various clubs over various targets.

Its looking like all our main strike targets are moving to other clubs (most because they are money grabbers):
Falcao-Monaco
Cavani-PSG
Higuain-Arsenal
Jovetic-Juventus
Rooney-Arsenal or PSG
Lewandowski-Bayern
I think the men that could lead us to glory up top would be:
Gomez-Bayern have lowered their price to £17mil. Absolute bargain in my eyes. His record speaks for itself. 75 goals in 115 games.
Stephan El Shaarawy-A 20-21 year old with such high potential. Would set us back about 25-30mil but would definitely repay it.
Alexandre Pato-Another play full of potential. Having a torrid time back in Brazil with corinthians and may move back to Europe and we were once quoted with an interest in him. Would only cost around 10-15mil because of his poor form. You'll all probably turn around and say 'he is too injury prone' but even so he would be a good, young, pacy, tricky player to have.
These three players together could cost nigh on the same as what Cavani and Falcao were quoted as.
This is just my opinion lads. I know A LOT of you will probably disagree but IMO I'd love to see these three attackers in the infamous blue kit. Also to sort of balance the books up top we should let torres and ba go.
I'd like to hear what everyone elses ideal attackers would be.
Thanks for reading
Talberto
I really really like pato, he needs an oppurtunity in England, but we'd be lucky to have him last as he'd get injured aha
I like Gomez as well but not sure he is what we need
El sharrawy I'd love
Aron
Gomez is fiorentina bound
sharrawy would a great signing but he ain't coming
We have interest in Bony and Damiao at some level. Aswell as others I'm sure. If you look at the other clubs pages, you'll know where some of our interest lies
I think Pato is a liverpool style player a bit of a gamble, but to be honest I'd consider him as an option if the few was reasonable and low ish wages.
One Bomb Tom
I think that Pato, Lukaku and another striker as a third choice (or Schurrle) would be good, firstly Pato won't cost us much, well, by the likes of Cavani's cost (as much as I'd love him in blue) but offers something different in which Lukakau offers, however, my main preferance for striker would now be Lewandowski, bieng were seem unlikely to land Cavani.
JMJW
Haha. Oh that made me laugh. Not coming to us because their money grabbers :D Priceless.
BornInToIt
Well yeah Falcao snubbed us to move to a club who have recently just gotten back into ligue 1 and have no European football next year. Same goes for cavani. Could've moved to a team with real European pedigree but moves to a club who spend big money on random players and hope they work well together. Reading the headlines and understand modern world football before you go around laughing at posts with no sufficient proof to back it up
Talberto
OhH no, I agree with you that they are money grabbers. I just want you to turn the clock back 12 years ago, mate.
07 Jul 2013 11:24:06
van Aanholt to spend another season on loan at Vitesse. Makes sense for the lad, he stands every chance of making the Dutch World Cup squad with regular football!
07 Jul 2013 10:13:41
If Cavani really moves to PSG, then we should seriously stay away from the players with a pea sized ambitions. This type of move basicly labels a player as a "could have been". At 26 he's up for his prime years. And if you're there in your prime playing against the Valenciennes and Ajacco's of the world then just fire your agent.
Same of Falcao. Both of these would end their careers without ever playing for a real top club. What's on the agenda? French cup? At Monaco, which I love, but still. You have a 20 something thousand Stade Luis, while the Parissian club is some 40 years old with nothing to be seriously proud of in their short existence.
Moving there is just as much as moving to Russia, albeit prettier surroundings and weather. But that's about it. Look at poor Pastore and where his career is taking him.
Pathetic lack of ambition. I'm CFC biased of course, but I would understand if they have moved to Barca, Real or Bayern, United or Milan. But Paris or Monaco. Really?
JG
Money talks mate, that's an unfortunate fact of life - not just football. But I think you've been a bit harsh on both Monaco and PSG, ambition is exactly what those two clubs have; in fact over the past two years they've probably been two of the most ambitious clubs in Europe. Maybe the likes of Falcao, Ibrahimovic, Rodriguez, Lucas Moura, Thiago Silva, Verrati, Pastore, and, quite likely, Cavani have bought into that ambition.
Im understanding what your saying JG but your looking at this in a slightly bias way. PSG will be in the Champions League next season, they are the current French champions. Chelsea have got lucky to get the Champions League the last 2 seasons and we haven't been close to a championship.
PSG and Monaco especially are offering fantastic wages, there was a report out yesterday that 3 in 5 professional footballers in the premier league file for bancruptcy within 5 years of retiring.
Its easy us saying why not come to Chelsea and earn £120k a week when you can go to Monaco and earn £200k a week tax free.
I understand what your saying and I do agree for instance Hulk joining Zenit or Samuel Eto joining Anzhi but PSG for instance are successful and just pushed Barcelona in the Champions League, nicer country, better weather, culturally more similar to other european and south american countries and plus I hear Paris is pretty nice.
Not trying to have a go JG just think you need to really look at the whole package.
PB1989
I agree with you JG. to be 100% honest, I think falcao has actually taken a step down from athletico madrid to monaco. In a sense you can understand the french league trying to extend their bounds but I don't like how they are forcing it through massive transfers. IMO I do think they should transition the league to become one of the best in the world, but not like this. They should transition slowly.
In my opinion with Cavani, I am still clinching on to my dreams of seeing him in the blue shirt playing between the sticks at Stamford Bridge. He seems to be a beater and I am hoping he is one of those players that play for what lies in their heart, not money.
Gentelmen, if we can pay Obi Mikel some odd 120+ a week, then believe me - we surely can afford Cavani's wages. And let's not just focus on wages only. There are so many more ways a professional footballer make money these days. Endorsment deals are of equal importance. Hence the worldwide profile of a club you represent comes in.
When do you think PSG could challenge Chelsea on that field? Well, never. They got ambition - true. But they are not in the Premier League or La Liga. What's the worldwide audience of Ligue 1? And 8 or 10 games a season in CL won't make a dramatic difference.
Maybe, just maybe if some other camel breeding oil man comes after Marseille and a settler or nearby tent buys Lyon, then someone with envy of that captures St. Etienne in some odd 5-7 years time a difference can be felt. But guess where PL, La Liga and Bundesliga will be then? It's an uphill volunteer marathon.
JG
Mikel looks likely to head to Turkey JG you'll be pleased to hear. Our beloved ed posted about it on the LFC page a few days ago mate
I read that too Melbourne. Hopefully we're able to bring in a defensive midfielder if the move were to go through. We really need an answer to Yaya, as I feel he's always the difference when we play City.
Jackson
How come Ed is still around at liverpool page?
JG
I agree and especially when it comes to Monaco. And if players go places based on how the weather is in season rather than for footballing reasons I really couldn't care if we didn't get them.

I need to check something. Is there anything in these rumours regarding Suarez to Chelsea, it's all over this mornings papers. 34m deal close?? Bit of a knob but proven in the premier league.
Nothing at all mate. Pure media rubbish. Liverpool will not sell Suarez to a premier league club. He has been a complete embarrassment to LFC in the media with his constant interviews, and whinging about his 'unfair' treatment in England. He will either go to a club in another league (RM, PSG, Bayern, Monaco) all of whom have shown some level of interest, or be kept at LFC until a future window, where a suitable deal can be agreed. I'd expect the former.
We are not an option. Much like with Rooney we do not have interest in the player, and their clubs have no interest in doing business with us.
It wouldn't be just like the Torres deal before anyone says it would, as Suarez is just reaching his full potential and is one of the top 5 players in world football. Torres was shot and Liverpool were glad to get rid, for a substantial fee.
Suarez one of the top 5 players in the world? What player have you been watching Melbourne? He's not even the best striker in the Uruguay team!
Chelsea Nick
And how do u know this Melbourne? Money talks in football and if cfc come up with the right figure then there's every chance it could happen.
And as for Suarez wanting to leave because of English press, I think that's a smoke screen, he wants champs league footy and any club who can give him that are in with a chance is getting him. Saying the press are hounding him out is easier for him to say, he doesn't want to say lfc can't match his ambitions.
Cfcmatt.
Suarez is right up there, and is certainly a better all round player than Cavani. I agree with Melbourne that Liverpool will look to sell him to a club outside the Premier League first and foremost, and also that he himself wants out of England. He has said it himself several times. What you also have to consider is why Chelsea would want to sign him! He is a brilliant player, but comes with too much baggage.
Common sense Matt. He has a history of attitude problems from racism to assualt, in more than one league. He is banned from playing the first 6? games in the prem, and although his ban will probably be transferred to another FA, if Suarez moves abroad, the risk of him reoffending in England and facing lengthier bans is very real. As with Hazard, the club takes a players attitude and off field discrepancies very seriously when deciding on transfer targets, and Suarez wouldn't be backed by anyone confidently, to not reoffend.
A smokescreen? You realise Suarez does not decide his fate. LFC own him. He cannot be sold without their approval. He has shown he is not prepared to hand in a transfer request, due to the fact he would lose out on 5% of the transfer fee. Liverpool are aware of his undeniable ability, and would not sell to a premier league club. Enough interest is being shown in the player from abroad, for the club not to have to worry about it anyway.
I will go as far as guaranteeing he will not be bought by Chelsea, and they will not declare interest in him at all. How? I can't quote sources but if I'm wrong feel free to remind me. I have no concerns this will happen mate.
Nick
If you honestly don't think Suarez is not at the very least equal to Cavani's ability you are not judging him fairly. He is an incredible talent. He has been the star for Uruaguay for the best part of 2 years, and has the ability to turn a game single handedly, on a consistent basis. As a striker, it's something very few in world football can claim. He is no doubt one of the best 5 players in the world IMO.
In saying that, I wouldn't want the rodent anywhere near my club.
I seem to remember Liverpool selling us one of there prized assists when the price was right.
Suarez scored 35 goals for Uruguay, Forlan scored 34 goals and Cavani 19.
For Ba+ Moses+ 10-15 mil. they would sell him in a second.
Absolute nonsense ness.
Fair enough Melbourne! All I'm saying is I would choose Falcao, Cavani, Lewandowski, RVP all before Suarez! And that's not even taking Messi and Ronaldo into account. Suarez is amazing technically, but he is either amazing, or the rest of the team carries him, depends what Suarez turns up on the day. He looked overweight and was outshone by Cavani during the confederations Cup.
Chelsea Nick
What is nonsense? That Suarez scored 35 goals or that Liverpool would not accept player+ cash. They're short of money as well as they're short of strikes.?
For those saying he isn't a top 5 player in the world I challenge you to name 5 better players. If he's not with Liverpool they would've finished on the bottom half of the table yet he carried them and is there any question he would've won the player of the year awards without biting bran? And as far as the double swap and 10-15m you have to be joking. We bought ba for 7m and his worth can't have grown considering his health concerns and Moses was bought for around 7m and has done nothing to increase his value which would put that package at a value of ~25-30m at the most. When they sold Torres they knew his legs were gone and he had been angling for a move for some time. He had also been in very poor form for more than a year at that point. They got 50m from him and he handed in a transfer request which gave them an additional chunk. Suarez is younger and in much better form and has no health concerns so where would you put his valuation at?
Tk
Messi, ronaldo, falcao, ineista, rvp but Suarez is an excellent player. At best you could swap him with rvp.
I would like to see him at Chelsea controversial players can sometimes be just what a team needs just look at what cantona did at united.

Why Ness? How in the world would Ba work in liverpools system? A bloke that is considered by some unable to play two games a week because of his knees. He is almost uninsurable and most importantly they have zero interest in him or Moses. This isn't FIFA mate. I assume you're young, as your view on transfers seems very skewed mate.
There is interest from Russia, as you'll find on the lfc pages, and we were told long before the window opened/one month before the season ended, that there is a good chance he will move on. Liverpool don't want him. They have no use for him. Or Moses. They are pursuing other targets.
This is all information from the single most reliable source of transfer information on the web (Ed002). Unfortunately he has been driven away again due to the trolls and abusive tools.
You've got to actually think logically and realistically about the situation. Suarez is seen as poison by the majority of people in football. Chelsea would not welcome him at the club, and rightly so. No matter his ability and what some see as our 'dwindling' options for striker. He is not an option.
07 Jul 2013 08:25:19
I would be happy with xavi alonso and de rossi and. a solid defender and CF like marco reus
You still believe in Santa?
Xabi is around 30
rossi will be 30 next month
dont think that will be a good idea
reus seems unlikely
in short - very unrealistic
solid defender - maybe
Xabi Alonso will be 32 in few months November more precisely.
07 Jul 2013 08:20:52
So guys it looks like we've missed out on cavani, who's the most realistic target now.
Your suggestions please, Lukaku is an obvious choice. Better than Torres and ba put together in my opinion.
Yilmaz has gone quiet, and people are talking up Gomez?
Well.
07 Jul 2013 07:29:17
I would be well happy to sign David villa and de Rossi both world class and are at an age where 2/3 years they would be gone so wouldn't nessiserily stop the development of our youth, and they would be fairly cheap prob 25/30 mill for both of them and I'm 100% sure we would win the premiership with them both as well as what we already got I really hope we can get theses 2
You must be insane for this suggestion
07 Jul 2013 07:09:56
So who is a realistic target now we look set to miss out on cavani. I can't believe we're going to go into the new season with our faith in Torres.
So guys who would be your ideal striker option.
Please loyal fans of the blues, add your suggestions
CFC73.

I fully understand why ed does not Hulk at Chelsea it would probably mean that Mata could leave.
I wouldn't say that. Not like they play the same position
07 Jul 2013 03:03:56
Pls let give suarez a chance. He is d best striker last season
I agree about his quality. I JM is able handle him Suarez can be great improvement for Chelsea.
07 Jul 2013 01:06:37
hey ed,
what happened to the "links to other pages" bar? {Ed018's Note - I've got no idea and I'm trying to get that fixed}
06 Jul 2013 21:58:43
Ed18. We just been told there is going to be an announcement of new player any truth. Thanks {Ed018's Note - well here's hoping to a good day then. cheers}
Guys thanks for spreading optimistic atmosphere. Personaly I think Chelsea has amazing squad so 1-2 signings will be more than enough. Greatest signing is Jose Mourinho hope he will stay for next 15. years.
