As my old grandad would have said " I wish Roman would sit down with conte and Costa, bang their heads together and talk and get something sorted". Too many egos and as ed02 would say " you don't know the full story".

Has anyone any interest in the CB at Ajax Sanchez I think this lad will be one for the future and suited to the premier league.
Red colts
{Ed002's Note - Barcelona and Chelsea. }.

He'd be great for Vitesse :D.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 22:19:51
Ah yes, Ed002 had already mentioned him earlier this summer. While I don't think we need another CB (not at all necessary), I'd much rather have Sanchez for a decent price than spend over 50m on the overrated Van Dijk.
Sanchez wants Barcelona though.

Hmm begs to ask is there are any top player/ youngster that wants Chelsea these days?

Sarr from The French league. Thinks it's nice or Rennes he plays for?

Bakayoko wanted us, Eli. As did Kante :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Aug 2017 10:00:31
Fair enough Jackson, but I remember when Neymar wanted us too but we couldn't negotiate a fee for him. Pat Nevin even thought we should pay what it took yo get him back then well that's all in the past now. I just think players that sign cause they actually value the club and not their pocket usually hit new heights as they eventually put their all on games.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2017 13:51:57
I understand, Eli. The Neymar thing, I get why we didn't sign him way back. If you read what Barcelona had to pay to his dad etc. just to get him, Chelsea would never do that. It's obscene what they did to get him. Chelsea want clean deals :-)

Ed002- You said on the Liverpool page that Andre Gomes' agent has been talking to Chelsea about another matter. Possible to ask what this matter was/ what player it involves?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - It is not worth the grief explaining anything here. I'll just get pestered.}

07 Aug 2017 19:41:51
Fair enough Ed002, sad to hear that. Thanks anyway. Can I at least ask if it was regarding Chelsea buying one of their clients?

Ed please can you tell us what it was about
Need some good news
Much appreciated.

{Ed018's Note - and you guys wonder why Ed002 stops giving updates.}

07 Aug 2017 20:52:37
I think Andre Gomes and Diego Costa are represented by the same agency, could of been something to do with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 22:20:48
Gomes' agent is Mendes I think. Mendes represents numerous players, so it could be about a million things.

ED002, just in general, now VVD has handed in a transfer request, will that actually make a difference to him moving club (not specifically Chelsea) . I mean, to be fair, it was common knowledge that he wanted to leave anyway. Your insight is invaluable as always. Thank you.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No, I expected him to leave anyway.}

{Ed002's Note - I am not answering questions about random players - it is an absolute waste of my time.}

07 Aug 2017 18:29:25
I was hoping he wasn't a random player for Chelsea, but an actual target. I take that as a no then.
Apologies, Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 17:49:29
Just a thought: If we bought VVD we could play him as centre back and play David Luiz as a defensive midfielder next to Kante. So, we wouldn't need another midfielder.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

07 Aug 2017 18:00:02
It would be great back up. But think back 3 of Cahill luiz VVD is probably one of the best in league potentially, worry for azpi but he could play wing back maybe, or Cahill dropped?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 19:03:27
Cahill would have to get dropped over Azpi, he's our most consistent defender!

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Aug 2017 08:09:41
I agree with Byrrab, Luiz would make a good midfielder either in defensive or offensive mode. I have always felt him best suited there. Azi, VVD and Cahill would be more than adequate. One thing we have to eradicate is conceding headed goals. Both Cahill, Luiz and VVd if we got him are good in the air, likewise Alonso if he gets in position but we let far too many in from crosses.

VVD has officially handed in transfer request,

07 Aug 2017 17:48:14
Would this help Chelsea get player ed? Or does it make it harder as other teams will now feel they can do a deal or does it change nothing and Southampton will still demand high fee?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - It changes nothing other than Southampton are more likely to accept that they have to sell him.}

07 Aug 2017 18:10:07
Cheers ed, can see us going in for him now, hopefully saints still don't want to deal with LFC, enjoy ya day,

{Ed002's Note - At the right price.}

Afternoon Ed002, iv have read one of your replys on the Arsenal page and from what I could make out you said a deal could be done with Monaco for the sale of Thomas Lamar but they have not recieved an exceptable offer for him as of yet.
I know a while back Chelsea were interested in the player so was wondering if you had any idea if that interest still remained or has that ship sailed? Thanks in advance for any reply.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No, it is nothing to do with Chelsea.}

07 Aug 2017 15:58:50
Ok ed, that's a shame we are no longer interested he's got the makings of a top top player. Thanks.

We can't have them all but he's a player i would really want Chelsea to sign.

I know we nee homegrown players and squad depth but most fans are actually appt about te drink water and Ryan Bertrand and ox rumours. They're all decent players. However not 1 could get in our starting 11 (maybe the ox) but we could buy sooooo much better. We need class players nr decen players I would rather send £65m on Sandro than 60m on the ox and drink water.

07 Aug 2017 10:03:28
As Conte said, we need quality and QUANTITY! Why spend shed loads on 1 player when truth is we need 4/ 5 players?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 10:05:28
The reason I'm annoyed is is that we finally had experienced youth players who can play bigger roles alongside better players but we have sold them or loaned them again. Chalobah, Ake and Baker have spent enough time out on loan and needed their chance. Baker and Chalobah are both probably better than Drinkwater they just need a prolonged run.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Chalobah and Ake wanted to leave to be first pick elsewhere.}

07 Aug 2017 10:42:39
Losing Costa. What a loss despite his tricky temperament. Very difficult to replace his made-for-Premier League qualities albeit promise probably made in January to allow him to leave in summer. When his mind in right place (ie wanting to play football for us! ) was apparently a leader in dressing room, and Matic - who if sold, should not have been to United - was a considerable physical presence in midfield even if not as quick as some would have liked. Selling or loaning out younger players like Ake, Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek left us vulnerable in terms of squad numbers of players familiar with Conte system, as well as home grown players. So now a massive ask bringing enough additional quality players in difficult transfer market, with need to compete in ECL and EPL. But those additions clearly essential (midfield, wingback/ s certainly. and another striker? ), and soon. Hope they are on their way!

07 Aug 2017 10:54:24
JBS you're absolutely right. Chelsea must sign minimum 4 players or maybe even 5.Striker, midfielder 1 or 2,left back (left footed), central back if possible (if not we can play with what we have) .

07 Aug 2017 13:47:12
Regarding Lewis Baker - the Vitesse fans who have watched him all last season, do not get the hype around him that Chelsea fans are making. They think he's just a dead ball specialist and doesn't work very hard etc. He hasn't impressed them as much as everyone makes out he has. He had *some good games, but others they passed him by. Maybe a loan would be better rather then keeping him around the 1st team squad.

Can't work out why we're still chasing Alex Sandro. The bloke isn't for sale! How many bids do Juve have to reject alongside their manager repeatedly saying he's not for sale because they've already lost Alves. Let's just move on and buy someone different, there's more than one left full back in the world!
I say go for Ryan Bertrand and VVD double deal from the Saints. If not then someone like Aaron Creswell, I want an English player! Get Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain to compete with Moses at RWB, another central midfielder (not Danny Drinkwater though) and an attacking presence and we'll be fine.
I must say, all these rumours around Gareth Bale - if the guy is available you buy him! We need to add depth to the squad as we're low in numbers, but at the end of the day when Hazard doesn't play we look poor. Bale is world class, fair enough he gets injured a bit but I'd go for him!

If he isn't for sale why hasn't he signed his contract? Think there's a reason for that. regardless of Allegri saying he's not for sale. Said exactly the same about Pogba, Alves, Bonucci 🤔🤔.

Danny Drinkwater bossed the midfield with him and Kante in the middle in Leicesters title winning season, now has champs league experience under his belt and also an England cap. If he's under £30m, I'd say that I wouldn't mind thrashing out a deal for him.

Gareth Bale - wouldn't go anywhere near him. Constantly injured, imagine playing back in the premiership and constantly getting kicked, he's not like Ronaldo with his toughness, he'll be always on the injury table. No from me thanks.

Ryan Bertrand - I'd take him back in a heart beat. Loved the player.

VVD - another towering CB. Wouldn't mind signing this bloke neither, likes to play out from the back, composed and with Liverpool now apparently pulling out the race, I'm hoping we can sort a deal out with the Saints. Will be a tough buy though, as really don't think they want to sell.

Oxlaide-Chamberlain - another one i would take too. Can play a variety of positions and can offer us pace and some sort of defensive cover too. Just not sure if he's an upgrade on Moses.

Cresswell - like him as a player, but for us? I'm not convinced.

Hopefully the transfers kick on this week and can get a few done. Not holding my breath though.

Drinkwater- No, VVD-No, Bertrand-No, Bale-No, AOC-No. Cresswell-No. all of them are £15-20m players and not an improvement on what we have.

Agree0 Disagree5

07 Aug 2017 13:49:02
in what world is Gareth Bale a 15-20 million pound player some people have seriously short memories. as for VVD he's in the handful of best defenders in our league and would be a useful signing would mean moving Christensen on but a price worth paying I believe.

As for Betrand he's a excellent premiership left back and although not at the level of sandro would clearly improve the left side of our defence coupled with the fact he's English for the quota requirements he would be an excellent alternative to sandro.

07 Aug 2017 13:52:47
I assume you aren't including Bale in the 15-20m price bracket.

Bale is not an improvement on Willian or Pedro.
