Can someone explain why everyone's moaning about Modric, i mean personally i would rather get Sneijder (who wouldn't) but in my opinion Modric is a class Premier League player who would fit right into our team and provide the creative quality we need.

100% agree. Modric is a very classy player, and would add a degree of creatvity and quick pass and move that we don't currently have in the team (other than maybe benayoun). People seem to be moaning that he doesn't score enough goals for 30 million, but a goalscoring midfielder isn't what the team needs, it needs some energy and creativity. The price we pay to get him (if we do) may be more than he is naturally worth in the market, but we cannot put a price on creativity in the team. It desperately needs it.

He is just above average at best.
When all our players are fit, he isn't good enough to get in our side.
If we are going to spend that money, we should be getting world class, not a second class spud.

Well gud to see lukaku making his dream move to stamford bridge. Well now we need to offload anelka and kalou. Torres, drogba, struddige and lukaku are more than enough for us.
Now from todays rumors of skysports we are makin aagin bid for luka modric. I hope this time we succeed to get him to stamford bridge.
Also i believe we need to get a good winger. We were linked with kevin de bruyne of genk, and i have seen him playing but still he too young to get first team playing time though he is certainly a candidate for future.
We are also linked with krasic of juventus and turan of galatasary these two expected to cost around 15m each. There are also some gud wingers but are expensive compared to above two. Eden Hazard, juan mata and samir nasri. I really think if any one of these three player joins us then it will have big impact this season. We really need good winger i think we should get kevin de bruyne who is expected to cost as little as 6-8m for future and also another good proven winger as nasri costing around 22m who can straight away play in starting line up.

I would just like to see what people's thoughts are on Frank Lampard. I've seen a lot of negativity because of last season's poorer show than normal and his age. I understand some of the criticism, but this is my view:

Our whole midfield was pretty unimpressive last year. Ramires took a while to settle when he came in, Essien was injured and din't have the season we'd hoped for and when Obi Mikel played, his complete lack of anything meant Frank was forced to play back, when players such as Modric and/or Fernando would allow him much more freedom up the field.. and we know that when he gets this he is still capable of 15+ goals.

I think another season as a starter (or rotated more with Yossi), but not so much the 40+ game non-mover from the team would be good for the likes of Josh Mc and Ramires in developing, while giving him a chance to do what he's done so well for us over the past seasons. Playing around another good midfielder who is brought in would allow him, once again, to have more freedom and pick the passes that Torres so obviously needs.

My more realistic team for next year would be:

Cech
Ivanovic Luiz Terry A.Cole
Fernando
Modric Lampard
Sturridge Torres Malouda

^^ although I hope somebody is brought in for Malouda and wouldn't mind if we didn't get both Fernando AND Modric, as it would allow Josh Mc, Romeu, Benayoun and Ramires more playing time. I also think a RB could be brought in if it's deemed necessary by AVB and the coaching staff.

Just wondered what people's thoughts were, including any of the Ed's if they're not too busy to respond.
