One bad season and suddenly we're back to the late 1970s! We're still one of the "big boys" with a Russian billionaire as an owner who loves and supports the club. Just because we're not looking to spend £40m on a young German who you've probably seen play a maximum of 5 times doesn't mean we're not going to be competitive in the transfer market and willing to spend money! We can't be interested in signing every player that gets raved about on the Internet! Have some patience, our club has been very successful over the last 20 years and has a brilliant manager incoming who has good ties with some fantastic players and a good reputation in the game.

Just seems to be a lot of pessimism and negativity on this page at the money G8 mate, people are assuming we're not going to spend money just because we haven't signed anyone by early June! We're interested in some top players and I'm sure we'll see some of them join!

I think Chelsea will spend big this season, it's frustrating seeing other clubs sign players but we need to sign the right ones.

I'd love to see how Kasey Palmer gets on pre season with us I'm really excited about him. He's really excited me from what I've seen, he's got pace, composure and good distance shooting which is something we lack.

That's how it works everyone bangs on about youth but will be the first to cry if we lose!
These kids should be bleeding in when the game is won like 2-0 up with 20/ 30 minutes left then let them on some reason hiddink gave them 2 minutes at the end most the time.

I think there are a couple of lads who can be eased into the first team this coming season, but I think Palmer could use a loan. Chalobah, Baker and Clarke-Salter or Tomori could all get some minuets. But they should either be cup games or games where we are comfortable.

I said towards the end of last season, when all was lost, that they were to perfect, risk free, games to bring youngsters in. Even then Hiddink wasn't willing to play them unless we were comfortable winning - a rare scenario last season. Don't expect youth to start next season, they'll have to make the most of their minuets and work their way into anything more regular than that. Injuries are the only thing that may see some start earlier.
