Hello ed, why are we going for 3 players we 100% don't need.. Maicon is past it and quicker opponents will own him all day in the prem... Moses is another wasted buy.. We have josh!! And theo Walcott is another waste! Daniel sturr is better on goal threat! Theo is quick and that's it! Daniel scores more! I truly think these are stupid and pointless to Chelsea moving forward... As Ed has said, if Maicon comes, he'll be the second right back we'll buy, although I suppose that may not necessary mean in this window. I think Maicon is a better right back than Ferriera, not?

If we are bringing in a right back that we think still needs developing, but has potential, think VDW, Azp Debuchy, or whoever, I'd very much like Maicon to be the one to bring them through. Kane would also fall into this equation.

In my opinion, this purchase would have sense. I'd expect Ferriera to move if this goes through.

I am concerned about Essien he was shocking in most games(I know he had just comeback from injury and it takes time to return to form) .Also, he showed no signs of returning back to form.Preseason would be the time were he has to show signs of improvement ;if that does not happen then the club has to move him on and sign a new midfielder.Anyone of the names quoted so far would be ideal .Do not get me wrong ,I would love to have him back to his former self as he is exactly the destroyer we need to play along side Ramires or Lamps in the midfield,but I am just a bit skeptical of his chances.

Essien had a major injury and missed one hell of a lot of games, yes he was below par, yes he may never get back to the player he was, i belive he was bought back into playing earlier than both he and the club would have liked due to the poor form of the team at the time. Should we not see how he gets on in pre season and the start of the new season before making any rash desicions regards his future. I from first hand experiance know how hard it is to get back to full fitness or whatever you want to call it from serious injury, it takes time and a hell of a lot of hard work.

I agree essien 1 of my fav players since mourinho, but even i say maybe time to cash in. but then again he might be the bison again this season. im 50/50 with ess. hes 29ish now and we wont get alot for him so probably worth keeping. BLUEBOY1

I agree completely with blueboy. First off you have to take a look at him in preseason either way. Second off you are very unlikely to get a big offer for him meaning you'll get more by getting him off the wage bill than anything. With all this said you must evaluate if his potential upside and ability to help the youngsters is worth his wage bill. For me I say yes.
