Hey guys post of my team for next year on teams page if you want to check it out

I like the two striker look when we need a goal but I'm surprised we haven't gone to a 352 look more often. it doesn't make much sense having a winger and fullback out wide if we don't get width. Bran can play centrehalf, any of our wingers are fine outside, and we have an extra midfielder compared to the 442 we've been using.

I think we turned up today thinking the result was a foregone conclusion. The last couple weeks we've not been playing to our best. yes we won comfortably against Tottenham, but we never got out of 2nd gear. (That says a lot about our quality, that we can win even we're not at our best) But it also makes the players feel as if we can just turn up and win. Or if we go behind we can move up the gears and claw it back.
I'd rather that we started games with high intensity then relax, than have to try and up our game in order to grind out a result. Plus if we concede first, most opponents are just going to sit back even more, thus making it even harder.

If some of you people have watched Man.City you could see meaning of word lucky.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not lucky mn, champion. Getting three points even when you ain't playing well.

L### just got real. Title race on.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like Barkley because I think it's important to have some English players in the team and he seems the most promising talented, young English player next to sterling. But saying that where would he play and who would you drop because I don't think he is better than oscar and he's not a holding player so I don't see him fitting in.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair, I only saw a couple of incidents but I too thought they were lucky that neither Mangala nor Fernando got a red card. That kick against Eto'o did not belong on a football pitch.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Jackson. Just saw the highlights and City were lucky to keep 11 men on the pitch. Mangala's 'tackle' was 100% a red card. And Fernando's would have seen red 7/10 for that. The penalty was soft IMO. Looked more shoulder to shoulder, and if you look at Milner's reaction, he got up so quickly so he wouldn't get booked for diving.

Don't know how but we must sign Barkley!

I'm disappointed with the result but I don't think the performance was too bad. I think against the likes of Newcastle, Sunderland etc we should play two up top as they just sit deep and defend the edge of there box. We seem to struggle to create chances in games like this. When drogba came on we looked more dangerous, not only for his physical presence but we got more players in the box. I don't think we where bad today and I also think Mikel done well apart from diving into the tackle when Newcastle broke for the second goal. It's weird how performances and results have a trend over seasons and we always make hard work of matches v Newcastle. All in all our play wasn't bad but we didn't create any clear cut chances. The team has been excellent in the league this year but the last two games have been a big of a struggle so maybe it's time to use the squad to freshen things up and take the stain off the same 11 players. Schurlle and luis for example looked lively when subbed on.

If anyone needs cheering up, just go watch the Arsenal game. Stoke 3-0 up at half time.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And just like that they find a way to score twice and they're back in the game.
Only positive for me today is that the 'unbeaten' talk can finally stop

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yeah, second positive: Drogba can still be effective. The way he gets control of the ball in the box is very good at times and useful against a defense that sits deep. Glad I've been proven wrong regarding him

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 16:47:32
I must admit I was calling for Remy to come on but Drogba has become much more like his old self and much sharper and made a positive impact when he came on. It would be interesting to see Costa and Drogba start in a 442 and see how they can play together.

Agree0 Disagree0

I told you that we should play 442.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive really enjoyed watching drogba play lately he's still hungry & at he's age he is still pretty damn good! He may not be a quick as he used to be but you can see how much experience he has by the way he's using he's strength & hold up play to bring quicker players into the game, plus he's still banging in important & good goals! Legend

Agree0 Disagree0

TBF I thought Stoke's 4th goal should have stood and the pen was quite soft.

I don't even think playing 4-4-2 is necessary. If we look at both the Sunderland and Newcastle games we lacked intensity and our passing was so slow.

Playing the same team for every game allows the players to gain confidence, but A) it tires them out, B) the players can get a bit overconfident/lax in knowing that they're always going to start, C) it allows opposing teams to plan better as they know how we're going to line up and play and finally D) it means that our subs are never really match fit/in-sync with the rest of the team, so have little impact.

So IMO, rotation would mean that players are always trying their hardest from minute 1 in order to try and impress for the next game, less tiredness, and teams aren't able to properly prepare for how we're going to play.

Agree0 Disagree0

100% fuser! Rotation is necessary!

Had a feeling this might happen given TSO and CFC record v Newcastle.

The game should remind us all that Premier League matches can be won and lost by very narrow margins. Mikel (or all people up front) had the chance to head an opener for us second before NU scored. Likewise Hazard hits post second before they get another. In the last ten mins we had numerous chances to equalise (which begs the question of why we didn't escalate pressure earlier/perhaps make a substitution before half time).

Result will be a test of character for squad and give hope to a much improved City (possibly have better squad in depth than we do) and others. Would have helped of course if we had held out at the Etihad, as we should have done.

Many of us have been saying for some time that even if great to have identified core of best team, we will need to go to the wider squad more often to give players game time and rest for likes of EH, O and DC. Wish we had the someone who could take on players on other side from EH, whichever that side is. And, yes, cover for Matic needed.

But we've still got a wonderful team, and should be able to bounce back right away v Hull.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree with you, as hard-working ad Willian is the dude needs to take on defenders. I have nothing to say on the game rubbish happens but let's be honest it's a relief at least we all know we won't go unbeaten just one goal now win the effing league doesn't matter how as long as we are top come the end of May.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 15:00:21
Well well well

Hopefully Jose starts some rotation now, hopefully Ivanovic is dropped (said it forever, dude is not a fullback). Hopefully we get in a solid backup to matic next year (khedira) and have a backup for Fab (Van Ginkel).

I am going to do a full team for next year right up tomorrow, be sure to check out the teams page for it.

Have a good one guys and editors.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mourinho is not going to drop Ivanovich. Don't be ridiculous.
We lost today because we missed to many chances, plus Cahill had 2-3 mistakes.
WE WERE UNLUCKY.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 18:16:13
Absolute rubbish. We lost today because we played at a very slow tempo, were too predictable and waited until we were behind to change that. This result had been coming for a few weeks. Definitely not unlucky.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really don't want to argue with you but we absolutely dominated today in every aspect of the game. Also, don't forget how important is Matic psychologically for Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

We lost today because Newcastle made the most of their chances & we didn't it's as simple as that, disappointing yes but now it's time to forget the unbeaten talk as much as it would of been amazing but we all live in the real world. gives a chance to see how the players react against hull

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 14:49:14
TBH Hazard was the best Chelsea player first 30minutes and he simply vanished. Mikel was OK,but Cahill was really poor.
All in all Newcastle played very well. We could have won if we were lucky. Our boys did everything in their power. We can't win every game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cahill didn't look right. Hope it's not to do with bump on head.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 14:47:25
And NOW people are getting mad at Cahill, when I arose the belief that he wasn't good enough for high line I got frowned upon and told that I was a fake fan

Ahh the irony ;)

In all seriousness, why no crossing, why no urgency, why oh why :'(

Kidding, it is annoying, but we need to accept it, everyone slips up.

Chin up, we'll be fine. Mourinho clearly lost the game on purpose because he was frustrated with all the questions of us being undefeated. He hates records. :D

The problem is Jose doesn't trust his bench. I think opinions on hindsight is a beautiful thing and if we had one everyone would go on how Jose is getting the best out of the same group of players but imagine he went in with a little change a little more legs maybe start Rami, or Remy up top with Diego give Oscar a rest, you know surprise the opposition I said it last week, and I'm going to say it again any smart manager with a decent squad can get a point against us just sit back and hit on the counter we need a plan b and quick, cause I've point gap could easily become a no point gap.

Have to work on my punchlines that last phrase was whack:D well you guys get the point

Today's performance showed some major flaws. If we don't score a goal in the first 20 minutes the other team packs it in and banks on the fact that they'll get chances on the break. We simply don't move the ball fast enough. That includes up the pitch and the final third. Teams are going to continue to throw 9-10 people in their final third and were not going to break that down until we move the ball around faster. I'm tired of seeing guys have a pop from 25+. It has yet to work this year and it let's the other team get a rest. Our defense absolutely depends on Fabregas and matic to connect the play. Newcastle played 20 yards off Cahill and Terry yet the only thing they could do with the space was pass sideways to one another or wait for cesc to come back and take it off them. Today showed how much matic means to our build up. In defense Cahill has been really poor these last two games and certainly nothing spectacular for the most part. If we have a chance with Varane then go for it. It was nice to see Jose bring on Felipe Luis for Dave. For as good as Azpilicueta is defensively it's just asking too much for an inverted full back to provide anything in attack.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I was surprised that Jose didn't bring Luis on for Iva. Whilst Ivanovic is a great outlet and always looking to attack, his end product isn't great. Azpi I think has a better crossing ability but obviously can't use it on the left hand side.

Looks like it's going to be another one of 'those' days

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I hate it when they play at Newcastle. So so frustrating to see our lead in the league slink to nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 14:38:09
Chelsea started to play too late. Thoroughly deserved by Newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not even too bothered about losing as we were always bound to lose at least once. But todays performance has just been woeful. So incredibly slow in our build up. Newcastle gave us a lesson in how to counter attack today. We took way too many touches and tried to run the ball the whole time. Tbh we played like Arsenal. Always looking to pass the ball into the back of the net.
Extremely annoyed and frustrated by todays and the Sunderland performance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I agree the loss is fine but the way we lost it today was just poor! 10 minutes to go. still playing the small passes side to side not going anywhere in a hurry, best player on the pitch for Chelsea today for me was drogba for the whole 15 minutes he played, don't think its panic time but we really need to start playing with a bit more urgency & killing the game off before other teams settle & sit back & wait for the counter

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 14:10:38
Felipe will deliver the cross for Diego Costa to score.

My prediction :P

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Dec 2014 14:13:06
I just don't understand why it takes so long for Chelsea to up the tempo and show some urgency. It is like every game is too easy and they can cruise through without trying and still get a result. Glad Luis has come on let's hope they use him to cross the ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Luis defending for second goal was an absolute joke watching the ball and not the run absolute joke

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason is one word mikel. Happiest going backwards

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course you blame Mille, apart from the fact he was actually one of our best players. Did his job well.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Mikel played too badly tbh. He played quite a few forward passes from what I could remember and he protected the ball well. His lack of pace showed though.
I don't think the team/back four trusted him though initially. It seemed that whenever Terry/Cahill had the ball, they'd wait for Fab/Oscar to come get it or simply try to play the ball themselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 14:00:13
Typical :/

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just one of those things for Gary. Oh we'll, c'mon boys let's go!!

Agree0 Disagree0

And some people still wonder why I'd like Varane at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm one of Cahills biggest critics, but I can't blame him for that, just unlucky imo

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 14:23:06
or use Zouma?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cahill is too limited as a player IMO to be a starter at a club like Chelsea.
I'd be delighted if Zouma got more starts

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 13:59:56
Mikel really should have finished that tbh.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Dec 2014 14:01:12
And that goal has been coming.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 13:37:54
C'mon boys, we need to get this goal, hazard has looked lively, Willian has looked good, Fabregas has been okay, Diego Costa seems rusty, but then again he always does and then puts a gaol in.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Dec 2014 14:34:53
Looking from the outside I have always thought correctly that Chelsea have been needing an explosive out and out goalscorer for some time since Drogba's first spell and now they have that in Costa and they have guys like Drogba, Osxar Nd Fabregas who can score if and when Costa hits a dry spell, but they do lack a bit of urgency at times as one poster pointed out.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 13:34:42
Can someone please explain to me what is wrong with getting the ball wide and crossing the ball from the byline? Every single match we play in front of the opposition which makes it easier as it is so predictable. Get Luis on at half time, make the most of the overlap he can provide and get the ball into the box!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - I'm starting to think it wouldn't matter. Watch when it does go out wide there is usually only one player in the box waiting for a cross. Everyone just stands outside the eighteen}

Crazy isn't it, Azpillicueta did a good move past Janmaat, then hesitated on his left then crossed it straight into Taylor, only costa was in the box.

Teams just need to sit inside the 18, don't follow the wingers, just simply sit inside the box and they'll be fine lol.

Luis on for Brana. Drogba on soon, or Remy

Agree0 Disagree0

Luis warming up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course I meant you should beat Newcastle, just realised my mistake, maybe that's why it ain't going so well for you today if your beating yourselves lol!

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll we didn't beat them :((((( don't even care, Nup I support Citeh ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 12:36:51
Poor old mikel, if we lose today everyone will say it's because he is playing instead of matic. Bit of a no win situation for him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Dec 2014 13:02:38
Hi
I am new to this page, I am a Rangers fan, I think Chelsea are a great team and was a bit surprised that your poll is only50/50, you should beat Chelsea today, and the league looks almost sewn up, how far do you all think you'll get in the Champions League?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 13:35:51
Hey john, I presume it's becuase of the record of us never winning at St James park under mourinho, but not too sure

I think we will win the league, before going out in the semis to real or Munich, any other team we meet in semi I believe we can beat. If draw is kind I think we can go all the way and win the UCL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, I Definetely feel for him, after all he's given for the club

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 13:37:14
PS. Don't go there about MY team just at the moment!

06 Dec 2014 13:45:26
Wouldn't dream of it mate ;)

06 Dec 2014 07:58:27
Does anyone watch many dortmund games? Everyone goes on and on about hummels, but the times I've seen him he's been so average! Give me a subotic any day of the week.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We have enough centre backs but I get what you mean. Hummels is just like Pique.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 08:50:47
Exactly! Just like pique lol

I know I didn't mean we should get one, just that subotic is so much better than hummels.

I think he's possibly going united (hummels) according to ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I thought it was just me only catching him at bad times, but every time I have seen him he looks average. He always looks vulnerable and like he is just waiting to make a mistake.}

06 Dec 2014 09:05:02
Yeah I agree mate, also on every 1 on 1 it seems like he always loses the battle against the striker, it's weird that he's rated so highly, don't know whether were all catching him at bad games or he's just generally overrated.

I've only catches like 5 or 6 games though, all of UCL games as well, against Madrid a couple of years ago he was horrendous, didn't impress me last year and this year year been just the same. Weird

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone thinks Hummels is great because he's got great skills on the ball. His long range passes are superb at times. IMO that's the reason a lot of people think he's fantastic.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's true Jackson, and perhaps the Youbger generation have promoted him to be some sort of hero because of his talent on the ball ect, on the football game, he has a high rating so maybe that as well lol. I'm clutching at things haha

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Dec 2014 02:36:56
Does chelsea hold any interest in Javi Martinez, he doesn't get games at bayern (I don't know if he's injured) and i'd love him to partner Matic and also be third choice centre back

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - he's been out inured all season}

Thanks mate
