After today and preseason I'm hoping for some real attacking quality, candreva is who linked to but we need to add some real top top quality, or exciting, Lucas moura apparently available? Don't know how true, Willian has it all except end product and Pedro is good but without hazard we look lost at times.

Not true. They are 'relaxed' matches but pit the FA Cup winners against the League winner which is a so called super cup with a trophy to be won. All teams want to start on the right foot and Chelsea failed badly in both cups with a preseason friendly build up to forget so have dented their reputation as the best and it is clear it is not lost on Conte who was out looking at a lot of players as soon as the season ended. According to Conte, Morata has only been training with them a full week, Bayakoko will not be ready for the season start and will Rudiger start or be on the bench, not the perfect transfer window I am sure we all hoped for.

Today really showed that Fabregas can't play next to Kante. He's just too slow but obviously he's valuable in advanced positions. When Bakayoko is fit, watch out opposing midfields😂 Cheers to a good season, I believe we'll be just fine.

This is what I've been saying. He doesn't play well in a 2 man midfield but in a 352 in that CAM role he'll be incredible. Play hazard as a Cf type player with Morata up top. That'll be our best shout but we need more players in to do that.

A 352 with Kante cesc bakyoko and hazard as CF would be great if had player like Sandro to offer the width and have legs to be up and dowon, also that would be all our midfielders playing at same time. any injuries or to change things up we would struggle.

Yeah which is why i can't see it happening. We have too small of a squad to risk the 352. We'll see where we're at the end of the window but we need at least 2 new cm's to play that formation (creative cm and a holding cm) . Everything has gone very quite the last few days regarding transfers as well so it'll be an interesting week or two.

People go o about how our transfers have been good and how we just need a bigger squad depth and we will be great but f you look at the bigger picture; rudiger - £30m? Not really an upgrade on Cahill. Definately never going to be world class.
Morata- £60/ 70m whatever it was! I can't judge him off 30 minutes of football and a missed penalty but I never really rated him at juve or Madrid. I think he's a good player but not an upgrade on Costa. The only thing I can gather from his performance is that he is terrible under pressure.

To be honest I'm not worried too much.
Rudiger is a great potential and will be an upgrade on Cahill. His a versayile player which is beneficial to us.
Give Morata a chance, he is still trying to build his fitness up but mark my words, he knows where the goal posts are on the pitch. Also how can you judge that he is terrible on under pressure? Has he played much at chelsea yet?
Bakayoko is an upgrade to Matic from what I have seen last year from him.
Once Hazard is back, we have 14 first team players that are good enough to challenge for the league. If you add Christensen then we have 15. Of course depth needed but I am optimistic things will improve.

Actually after a match in the stadium today I can only point to 3 good performances: david luiz, Kante and gary cahill. Gary was unbeliebably good today and saved our team at least 3 times.

You say we can challenge for the title wth our current squad. I hope so but I'm not holding my breath. I'm backing morata all the way and I truly want him to succeed but he has been a backup striker all his career at eac clu he's been at. Not saying he's bad just we could have brought better.
Rudiger is a good player. That's it. he's not amazing and he will not get into the staring 11 at any other top 4team in the Bol especially not in Europe. I'm not only thinking about the league but the champions league. Are we ever going to challenge in that again with or current squad. We are going downhill not up wth or current performances and transfer dealings. Really hope I'm err in but I can see us struggling for top 4 next year.

Rudiger would get into Arsenal, Liverpool, City and probs even Itd's starting with 11. There's barely a decent CB between all 3 teams.
Morata can't handle pressure? Is that why he scored in pretty much every major match for Real and Juve. He legit seems to turn up for the big games.

You can say whatever you want about us not playing badly or we did alright or if only we had a few more squad players for depth by the fact of the matter is, we drew to a noticibly weak Arsenal team. We had the same team that played the whole of last season except Costa and hazard and we didn't play well tbh. I was at the game and everyone was getting frustrated with the first half. The second half we were better but not great. If we want to challenge for the league and the champions league we not only need a few more signings like the ox and llorente, we need more quality signings. Players who are on par with Eden and n'golo. Players who cost a lot of money but are worth it when the play if it gets us trophys. Not being negative bein honest.

Yesterday it was Rudiger who let Kolasinac go, yes Rudiger . I don't see him as an upgrade on Zouma as of now, it is going to take him quite some time to get near the first 3 CB
And Morata was unlucky, sure the pressure got to him but he struck the post, unlucky chap
And all those people bashing Drinkwater better look at his numbers, he will do a better job for us than Matic did last season, matic grew disillusioned in big games losing 50/ 50 duels to Herrera, Ramsey and Silva, won't happen with Drinkwater, trust me he's a much better fit
Besides he is a much better fit than the other option we looked at " Ross Barkley "

Didn't think we did too bad today on the whole. First half hour was a bit sloppy but we grew into it. Probably would of won the game had Pedro stayed on the pitch.
Lack of depth in the squad is still an issue. Definitely need 3-4 more signings to make us competitive of on all fronts. I can see why Conte wants someone to challenge Alonso. Musonda looked ok, I'd keep him in the squad. Morata was hard to judge but he won most of his aerial duals and worked hard.
Think we can take some positives even though we lost 🙂.

Morata looked really good in the game, started of sluggish, wouldn't of lost if. It down to 10 IMO, but conte looks really few up and angry about size of squad which is worrying me.

Chelsea didn't play bad at all.First eleven or first 13 are quite powerful.But to compete in 4 competitions Chelsea needs minimum one more left (left footed)winger midfielder, one more(experienced) central midfielder, one more more striker and maybe just maybe one more central back.

Morata is an aerial threat we have missed but disappointed in another cameo role for him and we definitely need another attack minded player. Willian works his socks off but the end result is lacking and I wonder given his work rate and speed if wing back is a better position for him. I doubt Conte took many positives from the game and until everyone's fit and a player or two onboard, negative or not G8, I am a little worried.

WE played reasonably ok in normal tme, after first fifteen minutes or so. Kante easily our best player, Luiz, Willian and Moses ok, and Courtois BEFORE the penalty shoot out! But Diego is a huge miss, although hard to judge Morata today.
