Hi Ed
Do u think we have any interest in having robben back?
And who would you personally like in charge
Thanks in advance
Jason {Ed002's Note - No I don't expect Robben to return, and I really don't want to get drawn in to personal favourites too much but I would be happy with Mourinho.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Ed, I must say it's very refreshing you giving us your own opinion on who you would be happy with. Thankyou.

just a rumour heard that if benitez takes the job then the first thing to happen is the shirts will changed to red so torres can score goals

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Torres will not be scoring goals whatever his shirt colour.

Ed, I was speaking to a mate earlier and he said he'd heard a rumour that the players dislike di matteo as much as they do/did AVB. When he mentioned it, it was the first I'd heard of it. Have u heard anything to this effect or is it just pure malicious rubbish.

Cheers Ads. {Ed002's Note - It is gossip - I really have no interest.}

ED do you know who Rick Glanvill is? {Ed002's Note - He wrote a history of the club.}

Must have been quite a short book!

It is obvious to me that TSO is the only man for the job and i won't be satisfied with any other appointment. I pray this benitez talk is rubbish.

i wonder if mourinho would get rid of the old guard though? or perhaps he would be able to get the best out of them (as bit part players a la scholes and giggs). josh

AVB is past. Need to move on. The bloke came, saw and vanished into the thin air more clueless than when he joined. He was a mistake.

saw this on BBC website, from The Sun - "Many of the influential people at Chelsea felt that Villas-Boas had actually been trying to get himself the sack, with what he has been saying in his pre-match interviews." - have you heard anything on whether this is true or not Ed? If it is.. quite savvy of AVB - 9 months, huge pay cheque. josh {Ed002's Note - It is rubbish.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Actually it goes both ways. CFC started looking around for a replacement since the Everton game. And I believe they have one otherwise they wouldn't leave DiM in charge till the summer. Otherwise, they would go for Raffa for 18 months.

Cheers ed, always appreciated. josh

Hi ed i got a feeling your not goin to answer this but do you think rafa benitez could do a good job for us, i know ppl dont want him but i really do think he cud be a good appointment, i would take the speical one anyday of the week but he is not really one for building a future more instant success if you get wat i mean. {Ed002's Note - I really don't see Benitez as a working manager of Chelsea over any length of time. His rather fractious approach to people does not necessarily endear him to folk.}

Hi ed. I regularly keep writing on this site. When avb was appointed, i wrote a post about avb being sacked because of untouchables of jose.but for the reasons best known to you, u did not post that banter. my prediction has proved to be right.

Kings xi punjab chelsea brisbane roar {Ed002's Note - But he was sacked because the results were not good enough and there was no sign of improvement.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

So u saying that chelsea players are not accountable at all. every one who understands soccer knows that the UNIONism in chelsea is making them laughing stock. these under contract players(every one know their names) are delibrately under preforming this season. they also did it against scolari and got him sacked. then again when ancelotti was manager and wilkins was sacked, the preformance of players suddendly decreased during 2nd season of ancelotti. why don't these mega rich players realise the sentiments of a common fan. if so called aged athletes like scholes, giggs, tendulkar can preform consistently at top flight sports, then these guys from chelsea are pretty younger than those guys.

{Ed002's Note - Scolari went because one person decided he wanted him removed from the club and went to the owner and gave his reasons. AVB was sacked because of the results and that there was no improvement following a review of the training methods that concluded the team was one dimensional and predictable. Wilkins went due to an entirely unrelated matter. Perhaps there is some other sport that you could more meaningfully comment on or some very simplistic subject you could spend some time deliberating as your grasp of football, and Chelsea in particular, is embarrassingly poor.}

Agree0 Disagree1

AVB's ability was summed up against Birmingham when we struggled playing 4-3-3 and was 1-0 down. He changed to 4-4-2 and we equalised so he promptly changed back to 4-3-3. That was the day I knew he was tactically inept and was lucky to Manage a talented Porto side who were too good for their league. Then he plays an out of form right back at left back instead of a regular England left back. No wonder the players had no faith in him.

Agree1 Disagree0

If you have ever player sport at any level you would know that their is no worse feeling then loosing. Even if you went into the game wanting to play poorly it is a near impossible task due to the fact all sportsman are chasing success. I dont think the team wanting to play poorly to get rid of AVB i think we just dont have the depth to play aswell as we were in the past and that some players are past it.

Um. Sorry Ed, but what the hell do you think you are justifying with this? So, if I fall out with my boss in work, I should go and tell the college principal to sack them?

Pathetic. Pathetic egos.

RED_SKY {Ed002's Note - I was not justifying anything with it. If you could perhaps try and get over your undoubted need to try and be abusive and enquired a little further then perhaps you may of realised this was not either one of the playing staff or even a club employee who did this. You would perhaps do much better sticking to matters you understand rather than embarrassing yourself any further.}

With or without AVB our potential summer transfer dealings are a huge worry for me! I remember when Abramovich originally took over at the club and signing after signing was made, it wasn't ideal but at least it felt like there was a genuine team / squad being built by the club! It just seams like this team, and the spirit it brought, that was at the club has been replaced by a group of individuals. I think some of the players linked to the club, players such as Hazard, are not going to add or create a team spirit! When you look at the original Mourinho team the core of it was English; and these players (Lampard, Terry etc) were in their prime! This, I believe, went a long way to ensuring the team / squad spirit was strong!

If we are going to wait till the summer before we appoint a new permenant manager then we have to ensure that the appointment is made early in the summer! The manager needs to be the one who makes the decision who stays and who goes; the deadwood needs to be cleared out before we start thinking about what we need and thus who we should sign.

Avram Grants interview the other day, when he stated Abramovich watched DVDs and decided who to sign on this basis, was very concerning to me. This sort of mentality is why we have a team / squad of individuals with no team spirit! Abramovich must learn by his mistakes and give the manager full control of team matters, let a manger build a squad; don't just sign individuals because they have a good YouTube video.

Guys I know it seems like dark days at the moment but things will pick up. If you are feeling overly depressed, i beg you to go to the Liverpool Rumours Page, look at the comments made below this question, and appreciate the fact we have possibly the greatest human to ever live as a supporter of our club.

EDS, say if TORRES was to return and he was to apologise to all the fans and suck up to us by saying leaving liverpool was the worst decision of my life, do you think he would be accepted back, please do not say 'TRY THE SEARCH FUNCTION OR LOOK AT PREVIOUS ANSWERS' i want an answer of you , please eds {Ed002's Note - Why waste our time with dumb what if questions that have been answered repeated?}

Arsenal fan here. Just want to say it's heartwarming to see so much support and sympathy for AVB. Always came across as a charming, intelligent and articulate man trying to do an impossible job over there. Never once showed impatience with the press in terms of answering the same questions over and over again and I genuinely wish him all the success in the future.

Also, a little bit of credit for Roman for finally giving it to the players. Their behaviour has been a disgrace to the idea of professionalism and if any one of them looks in the mirror this morning with pride then karma can not come quick enough.

Obviously, I can't wish Chelsea themselves the best for the rest of the season as I love my club and want us to get into the top 4 (it's not a hate thing. Hate is such a stupid idea in football. You hate people who are a threat to your family and your friends, not a football club), but I do respect the class shown on here by the majority towards the treatment of AVB.

Cheers.

Ajeno.

Lampard, Cole, Malouda, Terry, Ferreira, Meireles, Kalou, Mikel, Bosingwa all need to go. players like: Di Maria, Lucas, Hulk, Falcao, Thiago Silva, Akinfeev, Giovinco, VDW, Pereira, Hamsik, Cavani, Ganso, Neymar are the type of players we should be targeting! Incorporate youth as well as signing a few of the aforementioned players. Hutchinson from what I've seen looks like he could possibly be Terry's successor. (Hopefully without being so disruptive and having a lot of controversy surrounding him) De Bruyne and Courtois also look very promising. Mind you, some of the players mentioned were a bit far-fetched but could be possible? :/

I don't think AVB and Di Matteo saw eye-to-eye on tactics etc. Di Matteo was never really openly supportive of AVB and had stated that he expected to leave at the end of the season! Player power probably, along with results and form, had something to do the the demise of AVB so the assumption has to be the players don't have such problems with Di Matteo! I only see Di Matteo as a stop gap solution and apparently so do te club; he might however bring something new to the table and we may see a more unified dressing room under him!

"we want Mourinho, we want Mourinho" sing it loud and sing it proud!

I do believe that this change will bring extra motivation from all the team. RDM has a perfect set to audition for his next job and must be really motivated. Avram Grant got his next two gigs just by what he did at Chelsea.

If the owner has said what he thinks of the players in AVB's demise, then they will. E fighthting to stay with the team past this summer. Some may convince to have a future, while the rest... Who cares of the rest.

In season change has inspired us both last times, hopefully will have the expected effect this time around, as well.

What a mess. After the shock and disappointment of Ancelotti's sacking in the summer most of us hoped (if only because we had to) that AVB would be ok but feared the worst (sacking after Christmas) because of his age and inexperience -- particularly when Hiddink not given a mentoring role and no grizzled veteran of Premier League playing/managing appointed as assistant manager. Hope RDM will at least get temporary boost from player efforts post AVB, but nice many and player though he is/was, the rest of the season looking very gloomy indeed unless Manager with more experience helps out. Certainly no top 4 finish.
