Ed, will chelsea be pursuing other strikers if they miss out on Cavani? Rooney is staying, aubameyang has gone to dortmund, lewandowski wants munich or nothing. who is left that's available?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just keep Lukaku!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed has previously stated chelsea might look to Leandro Damiao if other targets weren't available, as seems to be the case right now with cavani looking less likely. Ed also said that Damiao would want to join chelsea so he might be an option

Have not heard the Damio rumour but I have always rated him as a good goal scorer, and him and Oscar have always had a decent understanding for Brazil so that could be interesting.

Still think other targets are better options though.

Eds can you say who are our main striker targets now as cavani is PSG bound.
Rooney
Lewandoski
Hulk
Ibrahimovic
Martinez
Gomez

Cavani isn't PSG bound yet

Agree0 Disagree0

Indeed - its still media talk. All that's happened IF you believe what's written is PSG have agreed to pay Cavani's buy out clause.

He may turn down the move - and he may choose elsewhere is another team matches that offer.

Personally I don't think he's worth that much but can't see an alternative. Rooney is overated and isn't an out and out striker, Suarez is a liability, and the other possibilities are at least a leage below what we really need.

IMO - If the Cavani deal falls through we should do with Torres, Ba and Lukaku - the latter being first choice.

Agree0 Disagree0

I still have hope for cavani as he has to agree to move to psg

Agree0 Disagree0

What about marco reus?

Agree0 Disagree0

Reus isn't available.

Agree0 Disagree0

And he's a winger.

Ba is no good. 2 league goals since joining is pathetic

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres scored like one league goal in 2013 - with the wages that he is on that is PATHETIC.

I think Suarez would be the perfect striker both on the pitch and off the pitch.

The guys a liability. The clubs image has had enough damage without him adding to it.

I would love to see Suarez at Chelsea but I doubt it will happen. It would be very interesting how he will get along with Ivanovic.

There must just be the sound of palm slapping against forehead echoing around the PR office at Stamford Bridge this morning! That followed by the words, 'Luis. Suarez' being repeated in disbelief.

Despite him being one of the best players in the Premier League, arguably player of the year last season minus his 'character issues', he would be an awful signing - and the story is just awful journalism.

He doesn't just want out of Liverpool, he wants out of England. He's still got six matches of his ban to serve too, and he's never going to change his ways.

Lewandowski, Hulk, Kevin Phillips etc. - all would be better options than Suarez!

There is a train of thought that the 'run from the media' line is just an excuse to move to a bigger club.
