Ed: How come most of the south american young talent is either in Italy or Spain? Do they have better ties to south american clubs than English clubs? {Ed002's Note - Language, culture, weather, integration of the "latin".}
Other european countries also have lower conditions for work permits so they can get them when they are not in the national team. {Ed002's Note - Plus part ownership is allowed etc.}

Ed, with Sanchez barcelona bound, neymar to Madrid, Tevez to Madrid, Modric to stay at spurs, pastore to ignore england and sneijder to united or stay at inter and aguero to city or Madrid aswell.I don't mean to complain but we will most likely end up with de bruyne and Lukaku and maybe courtois.do you think it will be a disappointing summer for us ed because I know how hard the club are trying.thank you ed {Ed002's Note - I didn't know all these transfers had happened today. You need to have some patience as the club are making significant efforts.}
Sneijder will not stay at Inter, they've just bought Alvarez for 12m eur.

It hasn't been said that Aguero doesn't want to play for us. His demands are astronimcal and are far beyond what chelsea would be prepared to consider meeting. With the market the way it is at the moment player values are hugly inflated and I would think chelsea know where they need to strengthen and are doing all they can to get as much out of the money they put towards new signings as they can (and not spend 20 mill on a player like Jordan Henderson). Despite all the negativity about lack of creativity and age, it is still a very strong squad of players and I don't doubt that by the start of the season AVB will have put together a pretty competative group of players.

Ed, Why are Chelsea always so slow to start moving in the transfer window?
We all know that Drogba, Anelka, Malouda need to be moved on and other players need replacing but we seem to be linked to big names but have no joy in attracting them??

Think Boas needs to make a brave move and sell Drogba. Huge ego, was sulking on the right wing while Torres was on the pitch and was just shooting from everywhere towards the end of the season. Thanks for the memories Drogs.
Drogba was the reason we made a push at the end of the season. He had so many vital assists and goals... He was our playmaker. Do you remember the last 5 min of our 2-1 victory over MUFC? Drogba played smart football and led the team to victory. The man deserves to stay if he wants to.
No one 'deserves' to stay. Should we still have Kerry Dixon on a year to year contract or Pat Nevin because of what they have done in the past?? Drogba has done alot for the club there is no doubting that but we do not owe him anything. Chelsea FC has been around for over 100 years, Drogba has been a fantastic player for us but it is now someone elses time (i.e. Torres). How did he lead us to victory over MUFC btw?? Because he held the ball up for 5 minutes at the end? Hardly leading us to victory to be honest. And also how was he the reason we made a push for it at the end? If i'm not mistaken we finished 2nd by 9 points and got knocked out of every cup competiton before the semis? I don't understand why everytime i read this page there is some ridiculous comment from a supposed Chelsea Fan?? We NEED to move Drogba on and sharpish so we can get the best out of Torres and even AVB, Drogba is a sulker who thinks we owe him, he thinks he is bigger than the club, he shown this when he sulked when Lampard would not let him take the penalty to become top goalscorer, he was more bothered about that than just concentrating on getting the win to secure the title.

Realistically i say we need to bring 5 players in and shift 5 out, . Bosingwa, Ferraira, Malouda, Anelka, drogba and even possibly Alex ( I love Alex but the rumours are growing that AVB wants Scott Dann).
Lukaku, Modric, Scott Dann, Pastore and Falcao would seem the best we may be able to get.
Team something like this:
Cech
Ivanovic Luiz Terry Ash
Essien
Modric Lampard
Falcao Torres Pastore
Still no wingers but i honestly cant see us getting either Neymar or Sanchez.

Forgive me if im being a little naive, but surely before a bid is placed for a player, the club has done a bit of homework to find out if the player would be prepared to join or not. A sneaky phone call to the players agent must go on all the time (ok its tapping up but we all know it goes on)
Therefore if we really do have bids on the table for the likes of pastore and sanchez, then we must be in with a decent shot of convincing them to join us. {Ed018's Note - yea i wouldnt doubt that they dont already have a good idea if the player would be interested in joining}
