Cesc Fàbregas how emotional was that, last game, misses pen, goes off injured, was gutted for him, was begging for him to finish with a goal or fitting, an assist, best passer in prem history, was a superb player, so so good, hard to find someone to do his role, jorginho for example has something like 2000 passes and no assist this season. or kovecic over 70 games without a goal, Cesc really did have it all, legs went but football brain never did, I'll be following him if it's monaco his going to. Linked to Barella who has over 75 appreances and 2 assists and 6/ 7 goals,

I’m not a fan of stats Matt but I do look at the ones you come up with. With interest.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2019 00:16:26
There not completely accurate but rough numbers. Good player but I worry or think £50 for a player who is another kovecic isn’t what we need, pogba Ali eriksen De Bruyne Shaquri even, all get goals from midfield. that's what we lack the most, getting a player who’s attributes are ball winning good passing and good engine. then it may be more possession and no goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2019 06:21:15
No mention of RLC or Mount in your list Matt.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2019 08:10:38
RLC I don’t think is good enough and for someone so young has terrible injury record, I’d sell, young English and overhyped so get the money, the £50m that’s reported on Barella we Can spend on havertz and have mount on bench to get minutes and cup time, if barrela got 6 goals
Last season I wonder how many goals mount would of got, and I would want to bet £50m to find out,

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2019 10:00:21
Agree with your post about Fabregas, what a player.

I think Barella is a very tenacious player, his work ethic is scary mate. He wins the ball back really well and can dribble and play the ball forward really quick and his only 21. I think he fits the Allan role.

He isn't a Fabregas replacement for me, tbh does Fabregas even have a replacement? Are there players out there with his vision?

Ed1 where do you see him fit in and alongside who if we were to sign him?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2019 10:01:33
I think he will play the role Barkley and Kovacic currently occupy if he joins.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2019 12:48:58
That’s my concern, Kante Jorginho Barella, where are the assists and goals going to come from, need some goals from other areas, just adds to the pressure on likes of hazard and Pulisic to do it all and Pulisic to hit the ground running.

05 Jan 2019 21:09:27
If this was Cesc Fabregas's last game then I would like to wish him luck for the future. We were lucky to have him grace Stamford Bridge. He won 2 leagues, League Cup and FA Cup with us. There's nobody out there like him on his day. He will be missed massively.

100% agree Shak.

05 Jan 2019 21:33:19
Yes I also agree and just a pity he couldn't stay at least until end of the season, though I understand why not.

06 Jan 2019 06:36:21
I do think the club should show some flexibility with the 30 year old contract thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2019 10:03:12
100% agree Tom. Old is gold mate.

There is no price for experience, leadership and the know how to pass onto the young players. You can't buy the above. We should be more flexible on certain players over 30.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 19:44:58
Just got home from the bridge. Callum Hudson-Odoi was different class today! HAS to start from now on. Takes players on and gets the ball in to the box, totally different to Pedro and Willian. If we sell him we've lost the plot.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

05 Jan 2019 20:36:02
For gods sake. THE CLUB DO NOT WANT TO SELL HIM.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 20:58:41
Tom he won't understand. He thinks the club want to sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 21:11:35
What a talent we have, still pretty raw but glides past defenders. Hopefully gets a few more games under his belt so he can establish himself in the squad. BUT he’s still just a kid and I believe Chelsea are managing him really well, giving him minutes when they can and look what he’s giving back! Love the positivity in the forum as late, love reading everyone’s opinions. Up the blues!

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 21:16:58
I agree Blue, the club are managing him well.

He could well end up taking part in over 20 first team games by the end of the season and I think that’s just about right for a kid with lots to learn.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 21:20:43
I totally understand the situation Tom. Chelsea don’t want to sell, however, if you don’t give the kid chances he’s understandably going to want to go elsewhere to a team that will give him a chance. He’s 18 and absolutely mustard! Best player on the pitch today, time to give him serious minutes. If we play him he’ll stay, he needs something to believe in though.
Sorry Shak, I don’t take offence at what you say. We just have differing opinions, you big up players that most people don’t rate that’s all, for example jorginho.
Some good performances today. I thought Ampadu did really well in midfield. Emerson was fantastic, he needs to be starting as his pace and ability to overlap is a big threat! Christensen had a great game too. As much stick as we give Morata he took his chances well and overall had a decent game, not sure how he missed from 4 years a out though. Best of luck to Fàbregas, his standing ovation was excellent today, great atmosphere at the bridge!

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Jan 2019 21:56:19
Nick, your poin is the CLUB will have lost the plot if they sell him.

My point is the CLUB don’t want to sell him.

If he wants to leave he can ask for a transfer and my guess is the the club will let him go, albeit reluctantly.

He is a good player and I don’t want him to go. I want ALL our kids to play for us and be world beaters but sometimes they just don’t work out.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2019 00:07:33
Spot on nick, tomB I believe he just worded it wrong. I’ve said Chelsea would be mad to sell him but obviously they don’t want too. What I mean by that is if we lose him it’s completely our fault. If CHO doesn’t start or come on as a sub next game regardless of fitness I’d Pedro and Willian he should leave for his own good.

06 Jan 2019 05:19:41
That’s up to him Standard.

Peter Crouch feels we should bring back Diego Costa to solve our striker problems. I wouldn't mind him but just seems he's burnt many bridges to making possible. Not only a goal scorer but start the battle from the front and bring others into the game.
Your thoughts guys.

Spends more time in medical room than on pitch, lots of injuries I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 21:38:02
Was wonderful for us, world class, when in the mood and played major role in us winning Premier league twice, but apart from injury question he did clearly have more than an occasional attitude problem too - so expect that he may indeed have burnt too many bridges so to speak.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 17:17:26
Dropping CHO for next league game would confirm his fears st Chelsea and no doubt make his mind up. Should start, taking his player on for a start was refreshing enough.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

05 Jan 2019 17:47:40
He may well come on at some stage against Spurs.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 18:10:59
With our injury list he should start imo. He's shows he can be affective on the RW, if Morata was to start at the ST position and Hazard moves back to LW Odoi needs to start. His delivery is very good and at least he'll give something for Morata to feed of.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 18:46:25
At last a genuine winger in CHO who puts in crosses, something we have missed for a long time. If that is all he does in a game we have two players in Morata and Giroud who are good in the air and it gives teams something to worry about other than pack their defence in front of our tippy tap passing. Refreshing to see and to be honest he offers more threat than Willian.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 21:39:23
Agreed, lack of good crosses notable this season, not least v Southampton.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 21:57:41
I agree JBS our crossing is very poor and it doesn’t help either of our centre forwards.

05 Jan 2019 16:16:36
Callum Hudson-O'doi has to be first choice ahead of Pedro and Willian - the owners need to instruct Sarri to play him and if Sarri won't do it then Sarri should be sacked.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

05 Jan 2019 17:17:59
That would be totally bonkers and illogical.

Agree6 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 18:05:33
Agreed Tom. What's the point in having a coach/ manager if the board picks the team.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 19:42:47
What’s the point in having an academy if the world class potential players don’t get a chance.

Agree1 Disagree2

05 Jan 2019 19:51:23
TomB, why? Who is more important to Chelsea'a future - a manager who will be here and gone with a couple of seasons or a potentially World Class English player who will be here for the next 15 seasons (if we treat him right)? What is better for Chelsea'a perceived stature around the World - losing a top young talent for comparative peanuts to Germany or making a statement of intent by playing CHO and dismissing the manager if he won't play him? You tell me what is totally bonkers - supporting a long-term genius player or a short-term manager? If CHO leaves because Sarri won't play him ahead of Pedro or Willian (or Pusilic), then Sarri will lose my (and many others) support.

Agree0 Disagree2

05 Jan 2019 20:40:09
MDW. What’s the point have having a manager and NOT letting him manage.

The club got the manager it wanted (not me) so now let the bloke and his coaching staff get on with it.

This thread made me laugh. What's the importance of a manager these days. It seems like some on here think it is irrelevant.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 22:03:31
Nick, in the last ten years how many potential World class players has our academy produced?

Please don’t tell me the reason we haven’t produced any is because we didn’t give them playing time!

Hello guys. This is my very first post. Kudos to you all for always taking out times to express yourselves on this platform; your posts have always been post insightful n entertaining.

Apart from the obvious striker problem Chelsea is currently having, I think our major problem so far has been the slow transition from defence to attack, this gives the opposition enough time to fall black n defend in numbers.

If sarri can address this major problem in addition to d acquisition of a good striker, I strongly believe this team will do xtrmly well.

Good post mate. Luiz has great distribution and can play it out quickly but the other 3 cannot. They need to improve in that aspect.

05 Jan 2019 22:41:29
Alex, Good to have a fresh poster.

The club is going through a significant transition process. It will take time.

I hope the club and some fans give the manager time to create an identity.

05 Jan 2019 15:34:48
Loftus-Cheek needs to start games. Fabregas is perfectly suited to Sarriball, Callum Hudson-Odoi though shows his inexperience, is absolutely quality and needs to start games and at least, be on the bench 9 times out of 10.

I am really impressed with CHO, actually i do like our seccond string of players better than the first one at the moment :D.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 16:58:46
Although it was weaker opposition, I doubt some of the starters would have played as well as the subs today. I honestly think our midfield 3 should be Kante Kovacic and Loftus-Cheek, with the forwards being CHO Hazard Willian/ Pedro for now.

05 Jan 2019 17:41:09
Stabdard but who will play in Jorgihno spot out of those 3? For me it has to be either Jorgihno or Fabregas.

30 minutes in and this team is showing the starting lads how Sarriball is played. Not saying they’re better of course but the intensity and speed and sharpness is much better. Positive signs.

Callum Hudson-Adoi is a very good young player who has had opportunities this Season and at just 18 years old is already starting to be intergrated into the side. Indeed, if he wasn't injured he would of started his first premier league game against Southampton. He will almost certainly start in the FA Cup game Today. He has been nurtured by the club since he was 7 years old and has been offered a lucrative long term contract. Zola has just said we want him to stay, he is in a good place. What else can Chelsea do? I fear he has had his head turned by family or agents. The grass is not always greener elsewhere. Stay, and he will play more and more and be a regular in this side, particuarly given the fact that both Willian and Pedro are ageing. The future at Chelsea is so bright for him and the club are bending over backwards for him to stay. Over to you CHO.

Good post G8. If the club have offered him 'x' and he thinks he is worth 'x++' he is unlikely to get it as they will not be blackmailed and he is still only potential. Chelsea then get £30m+ for him which is good business for an 18 year old and he goes to a league with few intense games like the Premiership has week in week out and he may never fulfill the potential we think he has and all because he or someone around him is telling him "you are worth this, you are worth that". It is similar scenario to Jadon Sancho, who if you have watched him in the German league, looks very useful because there is no intensity, against Hungary for England I thought he looked like CHO, a guy with potential nothing more. This could be a defining moment in Hudson-Odoi's career and he could with a John Terry sitting him down and explaining the way of the footballing world.

G8 and C1955 in my opinion two fantastic posts.

Unfortunatley it looks like we will lose CHO

Looks like the move is being driven as much by the family as by the need or want of football

it is my understanding his brother is acting in some capacity

Shame but once family involved only going 1 way

get as much money and move on.

05 Jan 2019 11:44:48
i agree tom no player is bigger dan our club and no player should feel the need to walk into the 11 at 18 years of age . young boys today are driven by money and agents.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 16:59:55
Magic what are you talking about and why is age always brought up. He wants to play because he thinks he’s good enough and so do I. 100% he should have seen the pitch more by now. Let’s hope it’s not too late. Age is irrelevant.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2019 20:19:29
hes an unproven kid an every1 wants him to start every game it doesn't work like that. he is been blooded in brilliantly in my opinion and obviously now his head is turned by money and a promise of more football which i find hard to believe hel get with robben ribery an koman in front of him he has more chance with us especially with hazard been mooted to move to real.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Finally someone gets it: "hes an unproven kid an every1 wants him to start every game it doesn't work like that. he is been blooded in brilliantly in my opinion". You might be a Chelsea supporter, but you have this absolutely correct.}

standard, my only point with cho and i no sarri will. agree with me. i watched him v arsenal in the friendly at the aviva during the summer in Ireland and i will say his defensive side was absolutely dreadful . and i no sarri has called on him to improve this. that is why your seeing pedro an willian start more games dan cho. yes he's exciting he's bags of talent we all want him in the team he excites us nobody is denying that.

key points he's still learning man he needs time to be blooded in just like ampadu does and Christensen did and rlc etc its not as easy as play a few good games v absolutely wicked poor teams in the europa league an few lower league teams in domestic cups an say he's top class he needs to start patience .
