Unless we can get some firepower we will have more games like this. Possession is one thing but you have to convert it into goals. Too many weaknesses at present to do anything but battle for the elusive fourth spot.

See what Arsenal's manager is doing with the players that he's got which Chelsea players were rated better than at the beginning of the league. I don't blame the players, I blame the Sarri.
No quick passing, whenever Chelsea gets the ball, they let the opponents fall back to shape before they start passing- just so that they pass 3,000,0000 passes that results to nothing.

Hazard has been poor for a while. At this rate Real Madrid will not fork out the money required for him. It just shows as a team we are too reliant on him to perform. If he doesn't perform we struggle.

It will take time for Sarri to sort Chelsea out mate. For us to play his way, we need 2 new full backs, it's clear both azpi and Alonso don't have the pace, technique and skill to play his way. We need a striker big time. We need to offload Willian as a priority too.

Buzzing for sterling and sane v Alonso and Azpi. Pathetic performance. And as fickle as it. hazard out of form? 170m? Too hot and cold. We raved he was best in league and now missing? Toothless, sloppy, embarrassing defeat, Alonso and Willian hopefully not in squad for weekend.

Disagree about Azpi who has been getting back to his best these past 2 games; agree totally about Alonso and, sadly, I also have to join the Willian detractors - even as naive as Sarri says he is, surely CHO can't be any worse than Willian or Pedro.

Come on lads, An unbeaten start to the season and then 2 defeats and all of a sudden the knives are out. It's Sarris first season in the Premiership and he hasn't got his own team, the players he wants for his system . He is learning all the time, and learning that he may have to adapt and change things until he gets "his" team . Give the bloke a chance, I am sure he knows that there are players in the team that won't be good enough, but give him time to get rid and bring in. Rome wasn't built in a day as they say .

Roll on tonight 1st game of the season for me due to work issues. I wonder if many of the so called 'supporters' on here will be going.

Hoping to see Loftus-Cheek, Christensen and Emerson get a start. Wouldn't mind seeing Cesc start tonight too to rest Jorginho for the weekend. Going for a 2-1 win with Hazard and RLC on the scoresheet.

Please Eds, I am not trying to cause any ripples but is there really a reason why Sarri doesn't play Emerson in EPL games or key games? The guy seems to be doing a lot of things better than Alonso.

Ed001, I have been reading your posts about the kind of strikers Sarri likes, and I have been thinking, "What about Tammy? "

Do you think he's good enough for us, Ed? If not, what are the areas in which he can improve?

I am really hoping that Tammy scores 30+ goals this season so that he atleast gets a look in.

{Ed001's Note - I do think he is good enough, what he needs is experience, but I just fear Sarri will not give him the chance to gain that experience in the Chelsea first team. Abraham is certainly too good for the Championship, so he should be good enough anyway.}

Would it be fair to say that he's the 4th best English CF after Kane, Vardy and Wilson? And better than the likes of DCL, Jay Rodriguez, Gray, Austin, Ings, Gayle, Sturridge and Welbeck?

{Ed001's Note - not yet I wouldn't say that. Though it is worrying to look at that list as there is not exactly a lot of top quality strikers on it. You do seem to have forgotten Murray though!}

Is Sarri not a manager for the younger players he does seem slightly reluctant using them which I get as he’s new to the club but long term will it be any different do you think?

{Ed001's Note - he never showed any signs of bringing through youth players at previous clubs, but that might have been because of a lack of quality in their youth set ups. This is the first time he has ever had access to a top class set up at youth level. We will only find out if he is willing to use them now to be honest.}

I always seem to forget Murray for some reason. Can't believe he's still banging in goals at 35.

England's striker depth is actually quite poor. You have Carroll and Deeney as well, but they too are average at best.

Ed001, I have also noticed that there are very few young, quality strikers these days. Harry Kane and Icardi might be the only ones with guys like Werner, Jovic, Mitrovic still having a lot to prove.

This is a far cry from a few years back when there were so many young world-class CFs like Aguero, Suarez, Benzema, Higuain, Cavani, Diego Costa, Lewandowski etc.

Yeah it will be I hope the younger ones get given a shot as Sarri is one that likes saying he looks to improve his players and with the right nurturing we could have a few gems
