To all you guys who slate Luiz week in week out, what can I say. best player we had other than Hazard but ohhhh so badly influenced by press. FFS. Cahill?

Come on Ed you have to admit we'll miss him. Not just his off the field behaviour but on it too. He isn't the best defensively but he just had something in the big games that extra bit of pizaz about him that fans could feed right out of, and sometimes team mates as well.
Not saying we shouldn't have sold him think the money was too much to turn down but I think people (specially the press) were a little too harsh on him, hence some blues joining the band wagon. Goodluck to him and boy what a free kick.

David Luiz scores a free kick and suddenly this makes up for his defensive inadequacies? His positioning is poor, he's reckless and gives away too many fouls. Cahill is much better suited to our style, maybe without the flair, but you know he'll give a good performance nearly every game. Luiz is too hit and miss. On top of that £40m-£50m is a huge amount.

Your joking. because he hits 1 free kick out of 15. And you wouldn't take 48 mil for him?

Don't be a sucker and judge people holistically and not by a few isolated actions. One amazing free kick does not make him a great player.

Think of the money. And don't forget kalas, omeruo, zouma, ake and challobah.

We should of built the team around Luiz at the back. A colossal individual who could of captained us after JT. Never given a chance after Gary Nevilles Playstation jibe! Good price agreed and yes, some great young players coming through but Luiz is a thoroughbred and we haven't got many of them. my opinion

eds, 1- do you know what's holding up the costa deal being finalized. 2- Are we any closer to signing aubameyang. 3- I know a number of left backs have been looked at but is luis looking more likely now. Cheers in advance.

I'd personally like to see Moreno come in at left back, is he set to join Liverpool? Or do we have any interest?
Also like to see pogba & sanchez but I'll keep dreaming.

HOLD UP! HOLD MA PHONE! What the heck is going to happen to Piazon? Thought this was his break out season?

Did I miss something?

I know he's highly rated by influential people like Piet De Visser. He had a good first half of the season at Vitesse but then he was moved out wide and his form dipped. De Visser was critical of this as a miss-use of his talent and I guess his form in the latter stages of the season might influence his role this year. As with all young players though, I'm guessing he will be assessed in preseason by the management staff and then steps will be taken from there. I reckon he will join a PL side on loan, perhaps Everton to replace Delofeu?

Loan to an EPL side seems reasonable. He could be a world beater Piazon. With a succesful loan spell in England, I Certainly think he would make the team next season.
