EDS if chelsea have met the £45 mil for pastore why didn't the president of the club mention it today? also no tabloids have broke that? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know what the issue is.}

hello ed I don't understand why on the bookies Chelsea are considered to be the favorites to sign sneijder and modric when we have a limited chance on modric and no chance on sneijder could you explain ed please?thank you {Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure that "bookies" work on the mponey placed on a player rather than anything I say.}

I know it might be nonsense. but is there a chance than chelsea do not buy anyone at all? Or is there the chance all of our targets will choose to stay or go to other clubs and we end up desparate and buying 'no sense names'?

Hi Ed,

So if u give us a chance but not much of a chance of signing pastore, u think modric is unlikly, ganso will most probably go to AC Milan, Neymar is more of a winger than an attackin mid not that we have much chance of signing him by the looks of things
apart from Sanchez who would look upon us as a back up to Barca if u go by reports haha who are we going to sign because to be honest it looks like the targets u and the rest of us posters mentioned are slim to no chance what so ever

thanks mate... {Ed002's Note - I did not understand a lot of your post, but the bottom line remains putting a bid in does not guarantee a player moving. Sorry if you think the system is simpler than it is. I am not going to second guess random lists of players just to get abused about them if they don't sign.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

I understand, basically, why are we missing out on so money top targets? Why is Madrid such a huge pull over Chelsea, apart from the climate?

Agree0 Disagree3

I'm gonna make a wild guess and go with the fact that they're the most successful club in the world. Just throwin it out there.

I'm a bit annoyed as to why more or less all of Chelseas summer targets are South American when, they played through the world cup last season, just done a full season and are now in the Copa America, which to me seems that even if we do get any of our targets they wont exactly be fully fit enough for the season ahead.

I think its about time we turned our attentions elsewhere and maybe just keep an eye on Neymar (defo the next big thing)

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Um... Einstein - Neymar is South American Make up your mind...

Chelsea is targeting neymar, lukau and aguero yet it has torres, sturridge, kalou, anelka and drogba. ed, what strategy do chelsea has for dealing with all these strikers incase it lands on the above targets?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Well, logic dictates that if we land 3 new attacking players, up to 3 existing players at the same positions will leave.

Logic doesn't seem to come into play at this website, sorry to say...

Have to say the transfer front does not look promising for Chelsea. Every player they have targeted has had complications and long waits. This is a big risk for achieving their targets next year i.e. title and champions league. Does everybody else feel the same?

Believable2 Unbelievable5

I feel the same, who are we looking at pastore, sanchez, neymar, aguero. these are great players that are going to be world beaters, but it seems like we are having trouble convincing them chelsea is the place to be, i just hope we have good back up options

Agree0 Disagree3

The International window has been open a little over 3 days dude Relax. Most big transfers happen in August.

Please people F.Lampard is great player but his time has passed. The same applies for Drogba, Anelka, Malouda even A.Cole. Those players shouldn't be for sale let them end their careers with dignity.

Believable1 Unbelievable11

I agree with the first half of your post - that our veterans are past it. But regardless of this fact you don't think that they should be considered for sale? Even Malouda?? Wow... Unless they miraculously play like they did 3-4 years ago what good would it be for Chelsea, AS A TEAM, to keep playing these guys as if nothing is wrong? You'll have exactly what you saw last season. No creativity, sloppy passing, slow reactions, no pace... The alternative is to bench them, but where's the dignity in that?

Most sane people know what the problems are with this team, but many others are in denial and unwilling to accept facts. Apparently they're privy to some youth spring that our over 30's have been drinking from since May...

Forget dignity. We're trying to win silverware here, not bestow favours upon certain players, regardless what they've done in the past. The thinking of some supporters just stuns me sometimes...

Agree7 Disagree0

All those players have one more year tops to play. Who is going to buy them?

Agree1 Disagree4

Well who is to say that they will all be going to the same club?

It's never a problem for a club to have one or two veterans on it's side (Giggs with Man Utd), in fact it's a good thing. It's when one club (Chelsea, AC Milan) continue to keep 5 or more old men when it starts to get counterproductive.

Agree3 Disagree0

While I do agree that these players aren't performing at the level we are used to and i do believe that certain players should not be at the club because of this, I don't agree that their departure will be undignified. they are still capable of playing at decent, mid-table clubs and even some top clubs around the world. They could playing in the far east for top dollar and play for a few more years at that. We do not owe them anything and in my opinion keeping them at the club to warm the bench would be even more undignified and an unfair testament to their abilities.

Agree3 Disagree0

Totally agree. The only ones Id keep are Cole as hes only just poast 30 - so have 2-3 years left possiblem, and Lampard. Hes a leader, English, and been with us 10 years. Malouda, Anelka and Drogba should all go (and some others too - but there the "old" ones).
