Lots of people here want Icardi/ Dybala/ Imobile etc. I just wonder, what makes you think any of these might cut it in the Premier league?

And, should a 100 million be spent on a player like that, and he doesn't hit the ground running by scoring 30 goals, are you going to turn on them?

{Ed0333's Note - all three would be more effective than Morata in the current system.

05 Jan 2019 00:26:05
Johnny legless would be be better than Morata in this system.

love that comment king kante hahahahahah. dihanio i don't care how much a player cost it doesn't come out of our pockets so don't see why fans get fussed about that kinda stuff.

Not sure if there is any truth but Hirving Lozano is being looked at if CHO leaves for Bayern is the latest rumour.

Would be a great replacement, and we might include van Ginkel in a deal.

id love it if we signed him to be honest huge fan since d world cup when we got a real glimpse of him.

Does the manager / board ask for players opinions on who they should sign? I know it sounds mad but just wondered if they did at all?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Jan 2019 11:03:14
ud have to assume sarri tells tgen first choice signings an if they don't work obviously there's back up plans on the list.

so just a general query.
If we sell fabregas and loan morata and sign more than likely calum wilson will you be happy.?
i think again signing calum wilson is a sign our club are going in the wrong direction but then we signed a young talent like pulisic only a few days ago the board really are a confused bunch.

No magicandsurely, I don’t think he’s an improvement on what we have.

Though, the board are employed for a reason, they know somewhat what they’re doing so I have faith in them.

I at first wanted Wilson but now when I look at it I think we have gone from titles challenges to fighting for top 4, from signing the likes of Cesc and Diego Costa to drinkwater and Wilson, then we wonder why hazard wants to leave, he wants world class players around him,

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2019 10:04:34
I’m not convinced Wilson is any better than Morata but then I’m in a minority about Morata.

Shevchenko / Torres - do not make the same mistake again and buy a player who has had a serious, career-threatening knee injury = Callum Wilson.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2019 10:04:10
Wilson is home grown, can play in Europe, doesn’t need to get used to the league, knows how to score, can hold
A ball up, strong, fast aggressive. What isn’t there to like?

Or is it because he’s not a BIG name? Or costs £50m, £60m etc.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jan 2019 10:42:47
Well, he's English so wouldn't be surprised if that gave him a massive price tag.

04 Jan 2019 11:04:53
id take hirving lozano all day long over any of them. think he's a little terrior and a really good footballer.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2019 11:58:43
If we can't get Lozano which would be my preferred choice then i'd rather stick with Michy than go for Wilson. But like Adam said Wilson being homegrown may be a big plus for the board especially considering we may be getting rid of a couple of homegrown players in January. He has a lot of good attributes but for me with the price tag Bournemouth will put on him, i think we could do a lot better personally.

04 Jan 2019 15:58:52
i agree if we end up payin 50 or 60 mill on wilson were better off not buying him an spending 100 on a top player like icardi.

I have been chelsea supperter since zola and vialli time. But if we lose CHO this time, i think i have enough. I can't take it any more if we keep on losing such a great talent and then splashing millions on players are not at chelsea standard.

Absolute stupidity.

Bayern are biding 3 times already, do chelsea board still did not realize how great CHO now and will be? Come on.

Ed, our club under Roman has nearly always let unhappy players leave.

My guess is they also don’t want another Solanke situation.

Keep the faith mate.

04 Jan 2019 08:36:15
and i would also add the board are trying to keep cho and have offered im aure a decent contract hudson is refusing the contract and wants to join bayern how can we blame the board for that.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2019 09:17:49
Spot on about the contract, if his head is that easily turned, see you later.
Yes he is a great talent but over the years I can only recall a couple of players who we let go and they became world beaters, Salah and de Breuner. That’s not bad for all the players we have shipped out. I don’t think Roman and the board haven’t done us too bad over the years. So let’s wait and see who we sign.
The only player I will be sorry to see go is Tammy as I feel he’s better than both the ones we have, he’s knows where the goal is but hasn’t been given a chance.

And both KDB and Salah were not youth products from our academy.

7052andrew: Excellent post. It is somewhat of a myth that those we let go make superstars of themselves; it is a huge leap from being a top youth player to making it in the hardest league in the world. That said I do like Hudson-Odoi but Sarri is correct, when he hasn't got the ball there is a touch of the Loftus-Cheek amble and he rarely tracks back when we are under pressure, both things Sarri would knock out of him and make him a better player.

ed-ed_ed: Hang in there, it is part of Chelsea folklore. I have supported them since Roy Bentley played and have seen so much heartbreak from them it would make you weep for months but they are now a big franchise and it will come good again; you may be bald and suffering depression but your team will come good!

I have a great feeling every time i see CHO playing. The same feeling when hazard and robben first come here. Same as de bruyne. They thick a lot of boxes. We are mourning bout winger getting old and not creative enough, CHO have all that. CHO HAZARD WILLIAN/ PULISIC NEXT SEASON, will tear apart any defence.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2019 17:12:43
Keep CHO, and used the budget on new winger for world class striker, icardi piatex?

HAZARD CHO PULISIC ICARDI/ PIATEK, under sarri we easily can reach man city level.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2019 22:58:59
Ed1 hope you are alright mate.

I was wondering if you know anything about Chelsea's hunt for a striker. Who do you think is most likely to arrive given the situation.

Wilson
Vardy
Piatek
Higuain (seems unlikely now)

The above have all been mentioned to some extent throughout.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Higuaín was the one Sarri wanted, but Wilson is probably the most likely.}

04 Jan 2019 06:35:04
I really would watch the Icardi situation- this one will drag, but if Chelsea put the money down, Inter will sell due to FFP.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2019 08:59:28
Wilson is hardly an upgrade, might as well use Batshuayi or hazard as a striker and wait until the summer in my opinion.
