just realised miralem pjanic went 2 roma. for summin lik 9 million, wtf! why wasnt chelsea tryin 2 sign him. what sort of price tags are above marek hamsik and cavanni head? and subotic, and topel?

Here is my realistic team for January or next season, Cech
Vdw. Cahill. Luiz/jt. Cole.
Romeu. Essien
Mata. Modric. De bruyne
Sturridge/Torres
Obviously modric is long shot and we would need striker as drogba and Anelka and kalou be leaving, also Id love to see hulk hazard di Maria higuain but can't see it, think Josh mc, Bertrand chalobah are good cover for positions. What does everyone else think.
Mata on the right, naaah, the front 3 is studge, torres, mata, all day every day, the midfield is ramires, romeu and TBC, the defence is TBC, TBC, Terry, Cole, Baby steps mate one new player at a time

How the hell does Torres justify a starting place,hes been crap since he got here,waste of money,bit of a Chelsea habit,our strikers mainly,are too old or not up to it,major overhaul needed.

I have been impressed with Romeu in the past few games and I think he is easily the first choice on the DM position . AVB should sell Mikel and focus on Romeu as a long term solution . With Essien prone to injury , we have enough cover with Romeu .

If we had signed Modric and DeBr.. we would have been in a totally different position. I hope AVB knows what he wants in January and the board gives him iwhat he wants.
Spuds didn't want to sell. We just can't assume that we are gonna buy everyone we want, alternatives should have been lined up when they made it clear he wasn't leaving. It isn't going to happen in January as they are now in a better position than us. Is de bruyne really going to come to us and make that much of a difference so soon? I thought he was okay at best against us.

Hey Ed, which players signed from summer till now have been identified and requested by Villas-Boas? And ofcourse if you have insight to who he personally wants in the coming transfer windows that would be gr8.

I don't want to get too much in to how the transfers operate but players are suggested and discussed, and there is input from elsewhere. Obviousl;y much of the work done on players predates AVB arriving. The player he particularly wanted (Fernando) was not possible in the summer.}
Interesting insight Ed. This tells me that AVB knew what was missing but just didn't get it. Athough he should have a plan B. {Ed002's Note - It should tell you he wanted Fernando but didn't get him. It doesn't tell you anything else.}
Hi ed, do you know if we still want Fernando? I think he is a fantastic midfielder, with pace and vision, but coupled with an amazing ability to read the game and make great challenges. I think he would do well in the prem, and would be a great addition to our squad! Especially as i believe players like Obi and Essien have a limited time left at the club. {Ed002's Note - I am not sure that Essien has limited time left at the club. Standard answer again as I have already dealt with this. The Porto player holds a Brazilian passport but AC Milan may challenge Chelsea and Inter Milan for the player at around £20M. Porto are keen to hold on to the player and will attempt to turn down any January bids. AC Milan would need to give up one non-EU player (probably Mario Yepes) to bring Fernando in and may chose to figure out if a deal could be done for Ganso or Goetze instead.}
