Quick mention for the coaching staff, as tactically we looked spot on tonight.
It was mentioned in commentary, but utilising the space behind Liverpool's fullbacks via cross field balls looked like it was definitely something we'd worked on.
Also, Kepa's performance was obviously better. Maybe it was a stroke of genius to take him out of the spotlight and work on his weaknesses, maybe it was just a one off performance - time will tell.

Giroud's tactical awareness was outstanding. Won over 50% of duels with Van Dijk and bullied Gomez when he was up against him.
I would love to see Frank try Giroud and Tammy as a front 2, I think they would compliment each other very well.

I remember saying back in October and November that Kepa should be given a break in a few games, to induce that spark. I must therefore be the second coming of Messiah?

Don’t mean to dampen the positive mood but that performance from Gilmour is everything I hoped Jorginho was. 3 games out so maybe Gilmour gets more minutes and also let’s pray Kova’s injury isn’t as bad as it first seemed.

Difficult to say Gilmour is better than Jorginho after one performance. Although from that little cameo he looked like he was capable of doing everything Jorginho does well, plus a little extra.
Still, he's 18 years old and shouldn't be starting weekly, it'll just lead to burnout. Be good to see him rotate with Jorginho till the end of the season through.

The difference is that Gilmour always looks to move the ball forwards while Jorginho is content to keep possession with sideways passes.
Ps And Gilmour can run unlike Jorginho!

I thought Gilmour had an outstanding game and thought he couldn’t show any more class then he nutmegs James Milner.
Pedro, Giroud and Barkley were brilliant as well top team performance.

Gilmour reminds me of Fabregas- maybe faster with more is tackles. I think he's a natural playmaking midfielder.

Fantastic performances all over the pitch. Giroud magnificent, Pedro worked so hard and Alonso actually looked like a left back.

100% agree J. He has looked immense. This young 18 year old player is the real deal. I love the fact that he passes forward which is something our midfielders don't do too often.

Great performance tonight Gilmour was brilliant thought Giroud and Pedro were excellent as well, Barkley looked as good as I’d seen hopefully take this performance into the weekend up the chels.
