Just a quick question for everyone and ed.

Is van Aanholt good enough to be given a chance to start in our first team next season or would you prefer to see a new left back signed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Personally I'd rather see a new left back come in with van Aanholt as second choice and sell Bertrand.

Pva had an interesting season where he was the best left back in the league for the first 2/3 of the season then was injured and never really reclaimed his spot in the side. He's good going forward but defensively he's still got some work to do. Personally if we move for Luis (praying for shaw still) I would bring pva back to the club and hone his defensive skills so he can challenge Luis once he gets on in age. Still think the shaw deal is obvious even to a blind man but oh well.

I would like to see van aanholt and Bertrand fight it out. If we pay 30 million for shaw, when in all honesty we need central mids and strikers. Unless a cheap deal is available then leave it to some of our own boys. Worse comes to worse, dave is fantastic and solid at left back, so why worry?

Hazard to wear number 10 shirt next season.

Hi ed018 can you tell me your realistic transfers for chelsea and what your team / formation would be

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - not sure how realistic this is but, Costa, Pogba or Kroos. I guess Filipe Luis, Aubameyang and Varane. This is all subject to change day to day with how I feel. Guess a 4-2-3-1.
Courtois, Azpilicuta, Terry, Varane, Luis, Matic, Kroos/Pogba, Willian, Oscar, Hazard, Costa}

God, I so hope that team would be lining up for us next season (with Pogba and NOT Kroos in midfield). Pogba for me is almost a must and Aubameyang could be fun come think of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Replace Luis with Moreno/Shaw and that team would be ideal IMO. Aubameyang has electric pace which would allow us to play through balls all day. Ed018 whilst we may end up with totally different players, do you think we would promote Bamford or another youth if this happened?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - I don't think Bamford is ready just yet}

My XI (4-3-3);

Courtois; Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry, Luis/Shaw; Fabregas, Matic, Oscar; Willian, Costa, Hazard

Subs: Cech, Ivanovic, Ramires, Tiago, Van Ginkel, Schurrle, Lukaku

• Courtois over Cech because for me he's the best keeper.

• We don't need a CB we have azpi moving back to right, a new left back then ivan, Kalas or Zouma(Loan?) can be backups.

• I'd prefer Shaw being homegrown but as ed mentioned Luis most likely if any.

• Cesc just because he's definately available so more realistic for me him and Oscar playmaking deeper with the beast Matic holding is a quality three in midfield.

• Costa hopefully will be finalised this week or next. Hopefully Lukaku will stay as backup with Bamford 3rd choice.

• I'd bring Tiago back on a free if it's true a great squad player along with Ramires and Van Ginkel on the bench.

• I'd bring baker in to the squad along with swift and baker to help out our homegrown situation also.

Rather than Tiago being brought back I would much rather see someone like Baker/Ake/Chalobah promoted and given a real chance. I realise Lamps is leaving and Luiz as well but with a top class CM brought in and MVG coming back from injury I think if Tiago came back as well there would be so few chances for the younger guys.
We have some great young talent at CM it would be a shame if we didn't see some of it next season.

My opinion on fabregas is he's an amazing central midfielder I think he's a top top player, technically perfect touch and vision, graduated the barca school and correct me if I'm wrong but I think he was the top assists in Europe for the 3 years before he left arsenal, he's 27 loads of experience having been a captain, at 27 he could play at a elite level for another 5 seasons at least, then his technique will carry him another 2-3 years, basically what I'm saying is he was the best cm in prem when he was here over shadowed modric and getting him in his prime 27 will be an awesome bit of business in my opinion, each to there own but this the 1 signing I want!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I fully agree with your estimation.
I expect Chelsea to sign Khedira, Kroos or Barkley. I am not sure about Filipe Luis and except Shaw. Schurrle will play sec.striker. If Hazard leaves which might happen as well as Oscar if enormous amount money comes for two.two of them. In that case I except DiMaria to be signed. Another 3strikers will be D.Costa, Torres and Lukaku. Yes, Fabregas will be great signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nkch, any particular reason why you seem so confident that Hazard and/or Oscar will leave this summer?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nkch Hazard has just be given the number 10 jersey. so all things point to him staying.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2014 22:31:13
To me he's far too similar to Oscar and between the two i'd take Oscar for a number of reasons including his age, pace, the fact that he's been a part of the team for a couple years now, and that I still consider fabregas a w****r after his arsenal years and his comments about the club through the years.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've said IF!
PSG is extremely interested in Hazard and they prepare huge bid for him. PSG is also interested in Oscar, Cech and Ivanovic but it's unlikely they could finance signing all four players.
Barcelona is interested in Oscar which could lead to huge bid for him. There's also possibility that they might offer Fabregas plus 25-30m€ to get Oscar. 70-8i0m€ bid was mentioned for Hazard but IMO Chelsea is not going except anything less than 90m€ or Cavani plus cash 20-30€m€.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry mate,
Jersey number ten could mean two things.
One Oscar is unofficially gone since he natural number ten and he really cares about it.
Second it could be further bargaining with PSG.
IMO it's first option.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - you mean that giving Hazard the number 10 jersey is a way to bargain with PSG? That's a bit out there}

Chelsea would not be offering refunds to fans who bought a shirt with hazard 17 if they weren't confident that he would be there next year. Chelsea do not need to sell our top players and why would they if they want to fight for the premiership and champions league next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jun 2014 00:11:22
Hazard absolutely will not leave unless he throws his toys so far out of the pram that it gets ridiculous and an absurd bid (bale money) plus is made and I don't see either happening. He's the best player and has one of the biggest ceilings in the world and he's a winger which means he fits in damn near any system unlike a number 10 such as mata.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tk,
I was talking about enormous bid which PSG is preparing(80-85m£).Bale was sold for 82m£.

Agree0 Disagree0

To Ed018 it's a message we are not giving up on him easy. If you really want him you will have to pay ridicules price. And they might mate, they really might.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - ok}

03 Jun 2014 18:28:17
I think we are going to see 4-3-3 a lot next season, and see it as the main tactic. I think the following players, already in the squad, fit into this system and be in a 'first choice 11'.

Courtois

Azpilicueta Cahill Terry (LB)

Ramires Matic (CM)

Willian (ST) Hazard

Courtois to win the GK battle with Cech.

I think the formation calls for bombarding full backs and see Azpilicueta as the best RB in the league next season; I personally think Ivanovic will leave (PSG) this summer. Filipe Luis seems odds on to fill the LB position, feels like a bit of a stopgap solution; but a quality stopgap solution.

I think we'll see a much better Ramires in the 4-3-3 formation alongside Matic and one other. My personal preference for the third midfielder would be Pogba, but I have a feeling Fabregas will come in (bookies have him to sign at 1-4). I think Oscar will leave this summer, maybe in the opposite direction to Fabregas.

Diego Costa will be first choice striker next season, won't he?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Jun 2014 22:28:55
I agree that a 433 is conceivable but it will be because Oscar drops deeper to be a part of the three. Rami is a great bench option but isn't quite up to the level needed (but I do think the 433 would help him a lot as he can get forward more and Oscar will be deeper to distribute the ball). Also the 433 makes for less dependence on the wingers (hazard) to get back. I think upgrading rami into someone like (fingers crossed) pogba and making a midfield three would go a long way to ensuring the midfield regains the ability to boss games like it did when we had lampard ballack and essien.

Agree0 Disagree0

Imagine :
Courtois
Azpilicueta Cahill/Varane Terry Shaw
Vidal/Pogba Matic
Oscar
Willian Costa Hazard

Absolutely fantastic team and very balanced. With the selling of some players I think this could be fairly realistic aswell. (except Pogba's price is very large and Shaw is also unlikely) Looking forward to this transfer window hopefully.

Agree0 Disagree0

It looks like Fabregas, kroos or Pogba in my opinion. Rakitic looks Real, Barca or Athletico bound. So who ever gets him I doubt will be moving for pogba or vidal.

Agree0 Disagree0

if the strong rumours coming out of spain are true, then costa, fabregas, luis and possibly varane all signing for chelsea. Just hope we can keep hold of hazard as PSG look to be trying to take him back to france. If he wants to become the best or one of the best players in the world, then going to ligue 1 is a step backwards.

ed do we have any interest in Carlos Gruezo
thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Not as far as I know. I think Gruezo only moved in January and I can't see getting a work permit will be easy.}

Haha and Finally the rumour we all been waiting for. Hulk to Chelsea €40 haha same rumour every window,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - oh yea my favorite rumour}

Just read people saying they wish we'd sign him just to stop these rumours haha

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - that's one player I want no where near Chelsea}

I used to think he was built for prem league, . Then I saw him v a fairly decent team and his got a lot of hype for someone who's not that great

The Hulk rumour has nothing on Ken Aguero.

The one that makes me laugh, is when Rooney & Gerrard, want to stitch up there gullible clubs. Then tell their clubs that they want to join the best & biggest club in the country (Chelsea). lol

Ed002, I was just wondering about Moreno. Whilst I understand that Chelsea seem to have moved on due to certain reasons, I wanted to know whether Liverpool could afford him. Didn't Real Madrid move on due to his price?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Try the Liverpool page.}

03 Jun 2014 10:51:26
Hi Ed,

If a deal for Felipe Luis can't be reached and with Shaw and Moreno looking unlikely at the moment, I saw you say that there aren't many other alternatives out there who are better than what we already have. Does that mean that Ashley Cole could still sign a new contract? He has said himself he will probably leave, but with there no formal announcement from the club, is the door still open?

Personally I believe Ryan Bertrand is very underrated and could do a job.

As always Ed, much appreciated

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Cole has gone.}

I for one will be very saddened if we sign felipe luis for 22-28 million and not buy shaw for 30-40 million. Luis is a brilliant defender but hell be here for 2-3 years prime. Shaw will be here for 10 + years and will only improve, I don't care what wages he's on (reasonable of course) we need to sign him.

English homegrown and talented, did I mention English. English players is so important because for one, were an English club. English club needs English players, not all foreign.

Look at Barcelona, 5 + starters are Spanish. In Milan, 5 + are Italian, same as in Germany and Portugal.

Just my thoughts, if the figures I have stated are totally wrong then the luis deal probably makes sense . But based on rumours, shaw is a must.

Up the blues

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I for one wouldn't really want Felipe Luis. Not that I don't think he's good enough but simply because I'd prefer someone younger.

I do agree we need a more HG players but English players in general are poor. We're not likely to see 5+ English players starting for a top 4 team simply because at the moment their not really up to standard. Liverpool may have had 5 English starters but apart from Sturridge I don't see any of them being starters at Chelsea or City or even Arsenal.

Luis doesn't make sense to me one bit. 18m for a 28 year old vs 30m for a 18 year old seems obvious to me. I can't believe it's a question but oh well.
