ED I SEE ON TWITTER TH.... {Ed002's Note - To be honest, the Eds would really appreciate not being asked about "rumours" you have heard about on Twitter or Facebook as it wastes a great deal of our time. Equally, the relentless posts about obscure Bulgarian 14 year olds found on Fantasy Manager and other games are not going to be something we can sensibly help with. If we do come across good snippets we will post them but we would like you guys to help out.}

hi Ed, just wondering if Porto would except any offer for Hulk below his buyout clause or is paying the 80 million or so the only way they will let him leave? cheers

I'd like to know who keeps appointing these idiots as manager. Scolari, grant, ancelotti, avb. Just about every chelsea supporter I know, want Hiddink, if we can't have jose back.

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Hiddink would never stay long enough to create a legacy, and at the time he was manager of Turkey. As a Chelsea fan i wanted AVB to join, and i still would much rather have him than anyone else!

Agree11 Disagree6

You my friend, are an absolute joke, Avram Grant got us to within a peno of the champions league, he cant 'manage' JT slipping, Ancelotti won the double with us, Phil and AVB havent had much time but both have all the credentials. support another club you toby

Agree14 Disagree6

AVB has been in the jobs a matter of months. You have got to let the guy prove himself. Look at Ferguson at Man United, didn't set the world alight when he joined, but he was given time to imprint his own ways and look what he did for United.

What Chelsea need is a manager to stay at the club for a couple of years, and to create their own team rather than trying to imprint their own ways on another managers team. AVB is the perfect guy for this job I feel and we just need to give him a couple of years.

The one player that avb did bring in was raul & lets face it, he's on a par with malouda & kalou.
Our kids like lakaku, Josh Mc, Romeou, Piazon, Chabolah etc.. are better than some of the numpty's this person avb keeps playing & at least they are hungry to prove themselves.

Believable5 Unbelievable9

AVB brought in Romeu before Raul.....

Agree7 Disagree4

He brought in romeu and mata.
go back to 2008.

Agree5 Disagree2

Romeu mata where signed by the board not AVB. The only one he got was raul.

Agree3 Disagree4

Romeu was a target for AVB at Porto before he moved to Chelsea. He was the main man on that move

"If Andre leaves, someone else will come — and if it keeps going on like that, we won't get anywhere.

"The players know what Andre has done for the club.

"It's an injustice to make the manager the one who's responsible for everything that happens with a team.

"He's doing what he can until the players go on the pitch.

"From that moment, it's not up to him, it's not for him to run or compete for a ball.

"This is all part of the period of adaptation. We're trying to do what he wants but, unfortunately, there are times when we won't win.

"We're not playing badly. We have to go on the pitch with a seriousness and desire to win until the end."
"We can't cling on to something that was years ago.

"It's not by chance that Andre won three trophies last year with Porto.

"The way he treats the players is unique. He treats everyone equally, regardless of who they are or how famous they are.

"Every day he speaks to individual players and tries to help solve problems. It's hard to find someone like that.

"He talks and listens to what players say. That makes a difference. He's all smiles and likes to joke around.

"As a person, he's extraordinary and he's also admirable as a coach. My football has grown a lot with his arrival.

"This is the best spell of my career. He has everything to do well at Chelsea, as he's one of the best in the world."
some great quotes from ramires obviously aimed at old players who causing trouble 4 boss drogba, terry, lampsy, maluda

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Sounds great, where did you find these quotes?

Agree0 Disagree1

Ur comment we are not playing badly just shows u havent watched chelsea at all this season! its the worst ive seen for many yr!

Agree2 Disagree2

These are quotes from rameries u numpty.
I think he knows slightly more about cfc's situation than you.
Stick to playing FIFA on ur xbox or championship manager.

Agree2 Disagree1

Its not his comment, its Ramires who said. Read the full comment first and you will see this.

Agree1 Disagree1

^^^^so your saying Ramires hasn't watched Chelsea playing football?

Agree3 Disagree1

He talks to the players,
Well according to lampard, terry, anelka, alex, josh Mc etc....
That his main weakness, he doesn't talk to the players, he leaves that to his side kick's, who like him, don't know what there talking about.

Agree2 Disagree0

Lampard: getting little game time, is a little upset he is no longer starter quality.
anelka: has already pissed off, cant imagine he wasnt upset
Alex: going going gone.
Josh Mc: had a great pre season then thought he was the best player on the planet, AVB put him in his place, had a hissy fit.
The players you think dont like him dont like him becuz he isnt going to listen to egos.
You degenerates that think we need to get a new manager.... again and the reason chelsea supporters are laughed at. you have probably only supported the club since roman took over.
here is an idea. city has billions now. they look like winning something this year, grab all your chelsea memorabilia, sell it, buy a citeh membership.

In AVB I Trust

Torres played really well today, i dont think many people realise his assist rate this season, as soon as drogs is on that plane for the african nations cup people will start realise as goals will become more frequent, i strongly believe it

Believable12 Unbelievable5

Average player - waste of 50m

Agree5 Disagree9

Hardly average other wise he wouldnt have such a price tag to begin with

Agree4 Disagree1

I wish I was as "average" as torres , scored winner in euro champs final and is a world cup winner.
Stick to your Sunday mornings or playing at the park with ur mates , I bet ur an unused sub at best.
MUG.

Agree6 Disagree1

Can anyone SERIOUSLY dispute that he's a waste of 50m? Don't tell me he has potential at his age after two years of lacklustre football. Put the words 'duck' and 'lame' together to form a well-known phrase.

Ed002 after what you mentioned regarding the Metodo formation i have been doing a bit of research. I was hoping it would stop me asking this question to be honest, but it still hasn't cleared it up for me.

So basically, it was developed in the 1930s by Vittorio Pozzo who was Italy manager and it helped them win back to back world cups. From what you have said, Chelsea in the past and Barcelona of today have had a lot of success using it. From what i can gather it is basically when managers decide to keep 4/5 players back, allow the full backs to push on to effectively become wingers, and then allow the rest of the attacking players to 'roam' around, thus meaning no distinct attacking positions which therefore makes it impossible for them to be marked constantly as a strict formation would. Then when defending they do have a formation to stick to. Is that right Ed?? I only ask due to personal interests of mine.

Also, in the past France created their famous academy that brought through the likes of Henry, Saha, Anelka etc and resulted in their success in 1998 and 2000. Barcelona are using the Metodo formation now and are arguably the best club team to have lived, resulting in Spain using it and them now being arguably the best National Team to have lived. And now France are training their youngsters to play like this and adapt to different roles (Got that from you Ed haha). Personally this season it looks like Tottenham, Arsenal, United and City use it, but it looks like we do not because we don't have the players to be able to apply it. Do you think we will start using it when we have the appropriate players (i.e. more Juan Mata ball playing types)??

And do you have any views on why England are so far behind other countries?? It would be nice to see a change in the way we decide to play our football and use this approach. Maybe then we'll win something. Sorry for the questions Ed you just got me thinking because you mentioned it a few times.

OsgoodIsKing {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in formations - perhaps someone else will talk to you about it.}
