Would like to see edd001 thoughts on the team since changing formation if he's about. I didn't see this run of wins coming after the Liverpool / arsenal games.

{Ed001's Note - it was the formation we pretty much all expected Conte to look to play, so it was not a surprise. I am not totally convinced by it, personally, both Spurs and City cut you apart at will, just were not clinical enough in front of goal. Defensively you are suspect, you can't rely on refs missing blatant block offs by Luiz and terrible finishing by the opponents every week. There is a lot of work to be done still. Going forward you look decent, but it is difficult to be sure from today, as Citeh are dog turd defensively, with not one decent defender at the club.

I have to say, Moses, in particular, is going to cost you goals at some point, if you do not work on him. His ball watching is terrible, and he can't keep relying on pace to get back in to clear the ball away. He needs to be positioning himself better to make easy clearances with no drama instead.

Overall though, the formation suits your team, though it is heavily reliant on Costa. You need to keep your fingers crossed the injury is not too bad.}

We will win the league ed, I was not sure before but it's simple we have the best players, and by far the best humble, fighting, manager of the lot, I'll put money on it with you or anyone else, we will beat any false chalanges!,

Cheers for the reply mate. Agree we got lucky today at times but took advantage of the luck. Think teams are starting to work out how to play against us but we missed matic today. Supporting Chelsea is starting to be fun again. Onwards and upwards.

Agree3 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - you do look a lot better with Matic alongside Kante, he was badly missed.}

03 Dec 2016 16:50:07
What if Zouma is back andour3 at the back is Zouma RH Luiz and Azpi LH. That should be a good move for us?

Disagree on your assessment of that "block off" from Luiz on Aguero though, Ed. There was minimal contact and Aguero went down like he was shot. Never a foul for me.
I agree that we looked very open. Alonso had trouble with Navas' pace, and the midfield couldn't control the tempo. I think we'd have been much more solid if Matic was in there.

All in all, great victory. Aguero is a prick, it was an absolute assault on Luiz. Love Chalobah running over and defending his team though! He was having none of Aguero's ridiculous action, didn't matter that Aguero's a world class player. He just stood up for his boyhood team. Loved it!

Agree2 Disagree6

{Ed001's Note - it was a foul all day long, but he did make the most of it, I agree. It was a clear foul though. Aguero's assault on Luiz was vile. He deserves a lengthy ban for that legbreaker.}

03 Dec 2016 18:59:59
Did you see Moses' sensational block on Aguero. Cahill and Alonso are the main weak links for me but definitely not Moses. Thought Luiz was excellent and has been since his return, you must be part of the Luiz scapegoat team to think that. Aguero went looking for that foul and I'm glad Anthony Taylor wasn't blinded by it.

You think it'll be longer than the standard 4 match ban for Aguero (4 since it's his 2nd red this season)?

I doubt he'll get a longer ban. I have a feeling Fabregas might get a ban as well, footage showed him slapping Fernandinho, which was what triggered his angry outburst.

Ed001 I'd love to see your assessment of all the title protagonists. It would make a good article.

{Ed001's Note - ok mate I will put something together over the next few days.}

I have to some what agree with you Ed001. Defensively we were terrible/ blessed. On another day we could have lost that game by an extensive margin. Our main weakness is we cannot play from the back. We're terrible at it in fact. Alonso for me is poor, I know a lot will not agree but he isn't on the level I'd expect for Chelsea. There's a hype about Moses and he has been impressive but once the hype wears off I fear he will be average. Costa for me has been a revaluation under conte, his positioning has improved massively, I can honestly say in not seen a forward as impressive with the ball at his feet as costa. His temperament also has been massively improved. Overall it's been a good few weeks but I'm reluctant to get carried away. I'm counting the days until zouma is back in contention, hopefully he will edge Cahill out the side. In any case COYB.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - Costa has been sensational recently. I do agree that the defensive line does need a replacement for Cahill, he is a weak link. Luiz is perfect for the system, he just needs better alongside him.}

The fact that Citeh targeted our Left rather than the right (where we have 2 players playing in unfamiliar positions) just shows that it's definitely our weaker side.

Agree Fuser we got exploited there to often and teams are starting to catch on were our wealness is. We have to look at strengtening our squad in a few places but overall we look atrong for a top 3 finish even the league winners if we can keep our defence up.

Alonso is more of a worry for me. Better than we had but not quite good enough defensively. Mose gets out of trouble with his pace but needs a guiding hand with his positioning as he got caught wandering. However, his increased confidence and pace and he is a revelation so far.

Eden, Diego, Cesc and Willian were all superb today. Aguero and Fernandinho's behaviour was disgraceful, FA have to make a statement on that.

Aguero's tackle was just nasty. If he had hit Luiz's knee, he could have ended his season. Fernandinho's reaction was absolutely despicable. I was delighted by how the players ran over there to calm down the situation and protect Fabregas, even Costa got involved when things escalated.

Cesc's only positive in the match is the assist. Ge is the reason we struggle in midfield.

We had a awesome game today. Cahill not the best we have seen from him. Fabregas again showed us why he is boss if he has the correct defence behind him. Think some decisions counted in our favour but the braul at the end was unecessary. The two ted cards could spell trouble for there season going ahead.

Somewhat baffled with the 'Fabregas is the boss' comment. One pass saved him from being totally anonymous. We struggled all game in the midfield. That said, Conte has instilled a 'never say die' approach and that sends out a message to other teams and was a huge boost to the teams confidence.

Cahill confidence is gone. One mistake and his head drops.

Just a thought but every time I can remember zouma playing against augero I thought he done well a couple of really hard and good tackles on him, Cahill on the other hand I remember a few times aguero running at him and he does his side on back off tie himself in an knot stance, maybe a game to soon for zouma though.
