{Ed018's Note - doesn't sound like it but I'm not entirely sure right now}

I do have a feeling something is going to happen. Tomorrow could get interesting.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but I think some people on here have unrealistic views. We slate our transfer team for trying to sign Stones due to the price. We slate our transfer team for not signing Stones. We slate our transfer team for not signing Laporte/Garay/Varane. We slate our transfer team for signing Dijibolji before he has even signed (probably due to the low transfer fee). We complain about the transfer team not signing Pogba. We complain about the prospect of signing Pogba at the cost rumoured (as too high). We complain about prospect of looking at Axel Witsel because he isn't Pogba. We complain about us not signing Axel Witsel because he is now good value because we didn't sign Pogba. Even earlier in the window, people complained we didn't sign Griezemann (admittedly I would have liked to see him signed) then complain when we go out and sign Pedro!
At the end of day, I think we have had a good window. A class player signed in Pedro, some top prospects in Kenedy, Nathan and Rahman, a solid backup keeper, some intelligent loans for players to get them first team football and a chance to shine in top European leagues, a striker on loan who is admittedly a gamble but could prove to be a terrific signing if he can get scoring regularly (and now may have confidence for it). We have kept Oscar for whom I think it will be a break through season. We haven't paid any ludicrous transfer fees yet for players who aren't worth the quoted figure and we still could do more business along with the CB who could turn out to be an absolute bargain (his stats are better than Thiago Silva and Abddenour) who Guy Hillon has heavily scouted.
In short: keep the faith!

Can't make everyone happy. Different people different views.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 22:00:58
Well I think that's it for us, I'm still happy we brought Pedro in, hopefully stones next summer, anyone who thinks Pogba is coming is delusional, it's not going to happen

Believable6 Unbelievable3

01 Sep 2015 10:58:46
Me thinks you are saying that in the hope it does happen. As a Chelsea supporter you really should be a half full supporter, not half empty. We have our best negotiator involved, Pogba would have said 'no thank you' some time ago, we have the money and the motivation with Manchester City tucking away all the ones they wanted and we have time on our side as I doubt this is the first time we have spoken to Juventus about him. We will have failed only when we are told, until then let's assume we will get him! Hopeful rather than delusional.

A question for the Eds or anyone who might have an answer. If the Italian transfer window closes tonight, does that mean that a swap deal for Pogba wouldn't be possible tomorrow due to Juve not being able to register players or am I completely wrong? Thanks in advance.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2015 20:57:47
Yes Italian clubs can't buy any more players but can still sell them. Pogba still seems a long shot though.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 21:19:36
Hernanes just moved to juventus something is up

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 21:48:28
Nothing is up. They just lost Roma last weekend and their squad was heavily weakened this summer. They just buy player for strengthen their team. Selling Pogba now and spoil the whole season won't be a good decision.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Aug 2015 22:33:06
They'll also bring in Lemina from Marseille I think. No shortage on midfielders for Juve.

Hello everyone. Been following the site for a while now(more than 4years). I still look forward to more activity(Pogba) before the window shuts

Hope your right but not very confident

31 Aug 2015 19:46:47
Apparently boga loan has an option to buy? Wtf I rate him and his potential massively we should not even be considering selling him at the moment!

Believable1 Unbelievable2

31 Aug 2015 20:00:56
Doubt that mate. He's rated highly by the club

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 22:32:16
Rennes have confirmed that they've got an option to buy. I'd be fairly disappointed if he left the club permanently, but perhaps Boga himself wants the move.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Aug 2015 23:00:42
One journalist has claimed Rennes asked for the option, but we set it very very high. A suggestion was that it is plus £35m because we have no intention of selling.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Aug 2015 16:41:45
What is Chelsea's obsession with buying backup players instead of improving the first 11. Moses going out on loan, why not just sell him, he's obviously not going to ever make it at Chelsea.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed008's Note - The problem is no club wants to buy Victor Moses, the club would prefer if he was sold but the loan offer is what they've received and they have accepted it.

31 Aug 2015 17:32:32
Trouble is the one noticeable problem in the first four games has been lack of effort and commitment. The one thing Moses gave in pre season was both of those. He was one of the few players to have a good pre season, so I don't understand us selling him.
There are more obvious candidates to sell.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 16:51:46
Ed008, being a Serie A Fan. Do you think there is even a shred of chance for Pogba on Deadline Day?

Agree1 Disagree2

31 Aug 2015 18:40:07
I agree Andrew with Moses being the one shining light in pre season, he was also the last pre season he had with us before his loan to Liverpool.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 18:56:36
You may be correct Andrew buy the problem is that we've shipped 9 goals in 4 matches and last I checked Moses is not a defender.

Agree0 Disagree1

31 Aug 2015 19:14:48
Blue lab I appreciate your comment. But I don't think it's just defence we have a problem with. I think it's through the team.
One thing I wanted to bring up was a comment I saw about Diego which I think is probably correct, that is that he needs to vent his mister angry approach into his game and concentrate on his job. He doesn't need to get angry get even with every defender in every game. I feel it detracts from his effectiveness.
Sorry that was just an aside

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 16:32:29
I'm pretty sure are transfer business is done 1 cb in and that's all folks wouldn't bother watching deadline day tbh it's been a poor window just like the start of the season we just don't have the money like city and utd these days

Before we all start slating Papy Dijibouti, let's remember none of us had heard of Azpilicueta before he joined and he turned out alright being a cheap signing out of nowhere!

31 Aug 2015 13:36:19
To whoever disgreed, please enlighten me of your knowledge of Cesar Azpilicueta Tanco pre-Chelsea FC!

Agree1 Disagree13

31 Aug 2015 13:55:07
I never disagreed however, azpilicueta was a good few years younger than this Papy player and was also regarded highly at spains youth level. Papy on the other hand has 2 caps for Senegal.

31 Aug 2015 14:02:48
I also never disagreed however you should stop liking your own posts too much people will realise that on here. Just makes you look needy.

I'd heard of Azpilicueta before he signed. Not much but I was actually happy when we signed him.

31 Aug 2015 14:41:36
again with cahill I think he had already been capped for England? could be wrong. still proven in the PL before we signed him.

Agree0 Disagree3

31 Aug 2015 14:44:56
Some of us heard about Azpilicueta before he joined us but that's completely irrelevant.
I entirely agree with you been it comes to Djilobodji.

Agree0 Disagree5

31 Aug 2015 15:16:48
I also herd of Dave but that's neither here nor there. Agree with a previous post this papy is what 27? Not really a world beater and Hardley the quality we need. Especially when we had Kalas. Anyway I don't really have to much of an opinion because I know absolutely nothing about the bloke maybe the scout sees something we don't know about? Once his arrival doesn't affect zoumas progress that's fine because kurt is a world beater, the new marcel desailly

Agree2 Disagree2

31 Aug 2015 17:01:31
I have sympathy for CFCFOREVER as there is disappointment when we talk Stones/Pogba and we end up with Papy Djilobodji who is unknown. No disrespect to him and not all heroes cost a fortune and I posted on the 'Rumours' page, if Guy Hillion was involved, we may have dug up a little gem. Before anyone points out he also dug up Gael Kakuta, Kakuta's lifestyle from day one wrecked his career.

Agree0 Disagree3

31 Aug 2015 18:11:02
The way Jose will fail this year, I would prefer to see players like Tomas kalas, loftus cheek and Kennedy playing more regular. Premiere league season is nearly over for us already. Too much has happened behind closed doors, and also problems what were far more obvious, which the newspapers highlighted, and our own manager.
Is Carlo ancelotti a free agent?

Agree2 Disagree1

31 Aug 2015 19:30:12
BLUEBOY1: You need to use the International break for a nice holiday. Mourinho has not suddenly gone from 'legend' to 'has been' after a few games. Of your three players, you are likely to see some Loftus-Cheek (check him out he DOES ball watch) and probably our biggest surprise, Kenedy (he'll get plenty of game time)so no problem there. Every business including football have staff issues but Mourinho and Chelsea are always in the spotlight but they are big enough to handle them regardless of what the papers say. Mourinho obviously gets peeved when the team are disrupted and play below expectations and he wears his Chelsea heart on his sleeve. No Premiership is won in the first three weeks. Relax and think of the four goals we'll put past Everton for dicking us around.

31 Aug 2015 12:17:40
Hello why do Chelsea keep buying playersand then selling them on and not letting the youth come through

31 Aug 2015 12:15:00
Hi eds do you believe that we stand any chance of signing pogba or anyone of significance before the window shuts.
Great work on the page and thanks in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - I doubt anything will happen with Pogba}

31 Aug 2015 13:05:34
I am not so sure. It appears to be the only headline transfer we are involved with now that the Stones saga appears to be over. This has gone on for sometime and obviously via his club and agent, Pogba knows what is going on and if he did not want the move he could have said at anytime, 'no thank you' which one might assume he has not said. It is therefore between Chelsea and Juventus, the President of the latter saying he would sell at a price. As much as Chelsea are their own masters it must be galling when Manchester city are picking off the players they wanted so I would anticipate a huge attempt to swing it. Never say die!

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 13:27:25
Well said Frensham, I quite agree with you. I remember Ed02 saying a while back that a club will make contact with a player to know if he will be interested in joining before making any significant effort. So, I doubt the club will be making this much effort if there is on willingness on the player's part to join and in view of these I believe it will be down to how much the club is willing to pay for him. Will they be finally held to ransom? However the window ends, we should all appreciate the club for the effort they made in bringing in qualities into the squad even most never materialised.

31 Aug 2015 14:02:26
Not sure whether it is his official page but what appears to be Pogba's Instagram page shows an update this morning saying he loves Juve and doesn't want to leave :-(

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a fake instagram. Pogba's real Instagram last had an update 4 weeks ago.

So we've gone from Stones and Varane to a Nantes defender called Djilodoji or something what a joke this is. He doesn't even look good on YouTube.

You know anything about it Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - nope}

31 Aug 2015 11:00:51
I just looked back to ED02's post of 12 April and he was spot on about Manea, Nathan, Kenedy and Pedro joining.
I know it has been said before but a real shame we don't get the input on here anymore and instead we are starting to get trolled by non Chelsea fans trying to wind us up under the name of 'banter'. Pity.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

31 Aug 2015 10:57:15
Hi Ed, do you believe that we may see some transfer activity today or is it more likely to go ahead tomorrow on the deadline?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2015 10:13:46
thoughts on who we will actually sign then?
I think the de bruyne deal may force our hand on going all out for Pogba. player for player city are looking streets ahead of any other team in the league right now.

so i'm thinking we MIGHT get pogba at the last minute. I expect us to sign a fairly average CB also. Terry/Cahill/zouma will come good. you don't go from the best defence to the worst defence in a couple months. the players just need to pull themselves together and boost up their confidence with a couple clean sheets.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

31 Aug 2015 10:58:46
Fact is that defense was playing deep, and had most of the 11 defending with them. Now they're suddenly playing high line for some reason (maybe the fans whinging about boringness) and they are bad. It's like the AVB days, high line with this current crop is never going to work. Never did understand why Felipe Luis didn't get games. And Zouma needs to be starting. If he's not good enough, we need to go into the market for another pacy centre back.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 11:27:44
The change to high line does confuse me. Maybe when baba has trained with the squad enough and is ready to play he will make a difference. we need a box to box midfielder so badly imo. an in form ramires would do for now but that seems about as likely as a mikel goal.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 11:47:06
Ramires contributes very little, in my opinion. He scores infrequently and he creates nothing. If he runs with the ball he normally just keeps going until he loses it. His main talent seems to be getting yellow and red cards.

Agree1 Disagree2

31 Aug 2015 11:55:30
Whilst what you have said is reasonably accurate in the past season and a half or so. before then ramires was one of the first names on the teamsheet. if he could pick up his form and master some late runs into the box he could be a good stop-gap until we find a good partner for matic.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Aug 2015 09:40:12
I really can't believe how gullible some of you people on this site are. Our club are doing the best we can to bring in players that can/will make a difference without being "ripped off". Pogba would be great if it's at a price that is realistic ( my personal opinion is that he wants Barca in 6 months) so, it maters nothing of what we(as fans)or the club wants if the player has his sights set elsewhere.
At this time of year"summer window" and January"winter window" we get a lot of people from other sites putting in their tuppence worth and we invariably respond to these! Get over it and ignore them(and hopefully they'll go away), they are only here to attempt(successfully it seems) to wind us up and cause dissension.
I can see why some of our most observational posters don't post during the windows, whilst people like Melbourne(whose posts I truely look fwd to)get sucked in to replying to by fly by nighters who come here to stir she*p.
So come on people, ignore the outsiders and keep this site what it's supposed to be, a forum and banter site for CFC supporters!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

31 Aug 2015 10:04:25
What is a realistic price for the best young midfielder in world football which his club do not want to sell. If Chelsea know they are bidding on a player which juve want to keep then there going to have to pay more than what Chelsea value him at. I think I have read Chelsea offered £60m pounds. Considering the price of the likes of sterling/de bruyne then for pogba your looking at at least £80m pounds. If we really want pogba then now is the time. We wait until next season and he's off to barca.

31 Aug 2015 10:29:43
Come on Pete, give me some credit mate. I know young Johny is in the business of trolling, but when he already has a bite, there's no harm getting on board. My old man always told me you can't win a debate against a bloke with a damaged head. In fairness he didn't tell me directly, I overheard him having a chat with the kitchen bench, but sometimes its hard to resist temptation.
