Hi everyone,
At the end of last week I said on this site that a mate of mine had informed me of a likely immenent signing.
It now looks as if this was poor info and I apologise if I got anyones hopes up.

I never thought he progressed after his youth team exploits although I do not think playing in the Dutch league does anything for our players, the Championship is a much better option. Loftus-Cheek is another that had all the potential but just does not seem to make to be able to that big step he needs to.

I don't think you can apply such a broad statement to every player - it comes down to mentality and approach. Lewis Baker played at MK Dons however has progressed much further with Vitesse. some of our players have fallen foul of some poor domestic loans (Chalobah at Burnley is a good example, McEachran at Swansea was an unmitigated disaster) . Ultimately, the club they go to has to be the right fit in order to be mutually beneficial for all parties.

Steve_B: I agree the club is the most important but the league is also. The Championship is highly competitive every game, the Dutch league is not and if you are offered out on loan outside the Championship there is a good chance you will not make it at the club.

Don't agree with that. Baker has had a blinding season with vitesse. Think it's all down to the players at the end of the day, Christensen has had a good loan, traore too and obviously not all in championship! Musonda also. All down to the attitudes of the players.
