Anyone know if/ who were looking at in central midfield now Matic is gone? Assuming we must be bringing someone in as Chalobah and Ake gone leaves too big a gap. Have read the posts and can't see much on it, don't want to bother Ed002.

Marca have apparently reported that Andre Gomes (Barcelona) is for sale. I'd personally look to him as he's an incredibly gifted midfielder and could add a lot of quality to our squad.
However, a loan for Renato would be good as well. Very dynamic player when on his game.

Would love Renato Sanchez, wanted him before he joined Bayer munich. But if he were to sign we would have 4 senior players competing for 2 spots.

I wanted Barkley and mahrez, mainly because I thought they were two players willing to push to leave, hopefully now aurier sanches ( van dijk if Christensen goes as worried bout him ) and a winger / striker like a Sanchez.

With Conte's recent comments about wanting to avoid a Mourinho season (getting sacked after winning the league) . I just get the impression that although he signed that new contract (literally just a pay rise and not an extension) he doesn't feel confident with this squad for the season ahead. Last year he was positive and this summer although just pre-season his recent comments do not fill you with confidence. Hopefully I'm proved wrong and made to look a fool starting next Sunday for the season ahead.

Don't take preseason into account the year Mourinho came back we lost all our preseason matches and won the league. The year Conte took over we lost two out of the three. It's preseason wait until the community shield or the league to judge.

This is going to get quite some hate, but is there any chance that Mikel could return to the club? He was a great player for us who always gave a good performance, despite how much critical he fell under. Right now I think he'd be a great squad player (although, as would Chalobah. ugh)

Yeah squad player. He's only played 100+ games the last 3 seasons and started 30 premier league games last year. Definite squad player.

I never said anything about being better than anyone.

That said, he is much better than bakayoko IMO. And I've watched a fair bit of him. Maybe bakayoko progresses but right now he is coming into an unknown league to him and is unproven so far. It will take him time.

So at this moment in time Matic is much more proven and a much better player.

Kante is on a different level, that is true but I'm not sure there is another CM in world football that can match that boy.

As I said, thanks for improving our team, not too worried about yours, conte will implode this season 😉.

Ed002 can we have some positive news regarding any potential signings coming in? Squad looks threadbare and Conte is not happy.

Given that Chelsea are a more successful Club, have a larger Fanbase, more favourable Location, generate bigger Revenues (excluding questionable income streams) and have a Profitable Academy/ Loanee system.

Why is it Manchester City spend more than Us regularly in the Transfer Windows?

Do they not care about FFP, have their questionable income streams.
