Think 4-3-3 would work best for us and after this pre season I think it should be Chalobah, Kante and Fabregas in the midfield. Cesc can't work in a two so let's play him in a three and surround him with hardworking midfielders. Ruben's not a striker and he doesn't have the work ethic to be box to box yet. Maybe a loan?

Been a massive fan of Ruben but I think Chalobah is way more ready than him. And way ahead of Matic at the moment too.

A really good second half in my opinion, looked much sharper and if the game had been 10 minutes longer I think we would have levelled. Shambolic first half, but Batshuayi, Chalobah, Moses, Cuadrado and Hazard all played really well. RLC is not a striker. Oscar, Matic and Aina all struggled. Begovic not good enough for 1st choice as we already knew.

Question is, who do we cod into buying Oscar? I'm going to get slated but seen enough of Ruben last couple of seasons to come to the conclusion he's just not good enough and I'm afraid never will be. Chalobah on the other hand looks our best product in a while. Aina and Traore are ready for squad rotation IMO. Chalobah must be trusted and given confidence and started because he has it all.

The only thing I would say about your statement re rlc is that my problem with him is he comes across as a bit lathargic and lazy. But having said that he could be a great player I think he needs to realise he hasn't arrived yet and up his work rate. There is no doubting his ability he just needs increase his work rate.
However two players who have made a good start in pre season are aina and chalobah, long may that online.

Judging loftus cheek in to be honest hardly any games he's even played in his right position. He's not a striker, nor a number 10.

I think Loftus Cheek is lazy and needs to go out on loan for a season, he can then prove if he is good enough because I don't think he is.

Mourinho called it correctly with Loftus-Cheek. He said he was good with the ball but ambling around when not would make him few friends and that is his tendency. He is a strapping lad but said he struggled with the EPL physicality last year which was disappointing. Someone needs to take him under their wing otherwise he will end up as an eternal 'prospect'.

Things we learn, Oscar is not a central mid, loftus cheek is not a striker, Willian is the most over rated, aina is not ready, Matic isn't their yet, pedro isn't afraid to put him self about, Cahill still stands off, traore is actually pretty good.

With regards to the club's ongoing pursuit of a centre halfway, I find it to be strange how the club seems willing to stump up large fees for targets who are centre forwards but are reluctant to push the boat out for a real top centre half, ie Koulibaly or whoever.
I feel that an elite centre half is a more pressing need than another striker. However, the club seem reluctant to sanction the very high bid which may be needed to eventually land an elite centre half, especially considering Christensen and Gladbach's determination to sign him on a permanent basis. Thoughts on this?

I'm concerned at this so I really need someone tell me it's just paper talk. If we sign him of course I'll support fully and i will be praying to be proven wrong but does he really fit the bill for us? If we lose costa and end up with lukaku that is surely a step backwards.

Atletico sold Jackson Martinez in January and did not bring in a replacement and Vietto went to Sevilla as part of the deal for Gamiero. With a potential transfer ban still hanging over them I would not say the Costa deal is dead. They struggled badly to score goals last season and need fire power if they are to compete with real and barca.
