To all the clowns posting negative crap on here and the clowns booing Benitez and the team, you are the reason for our demise. Go support Fulham or whoever you lads want, absolute clowns. I for one will not be visiting or posting on here anymore and tbh am not surprised the eds are fed up answering your r******* questions, unimaginative banter and negative comments. Smell you all later!
Danny {Ed018's Note - every supporter has the right to be upset right now, why you are fine with the results lately is beyond me, see you later}

Believable4 Unbelievable10

Your the clown my friend if you are happy with the situation we find ourselves in, the ed is spot on in what he says well done ed.

Agree7 Disagree3

Did I say I was happy? No! Does the booing help? No! Is rafa getting sacked? No! So everybody should stop moaning and realise this season was going to be tough, what did everybody expect 5 or 6 trophies? I think apart from a combination of 2 or 3 poor performance from players and the coach we've been unlucky. In conclusion we should get behind the club (includes rafa) or the players will be affected and so will the performances, playing under this pressure is difficult, it forces stupid mistakes from players and frustrating for the coaching staff. Rafa did nothing wrong tonight, the team he put out had the game won then let in a stupid goal and because the pressure they've been under panicked when defending the second goal fact ! I don't want Benitez here next season either, he's another ranieri but let's face the fact we won't be changing manager til the summer.out of curiosity ed18 and ed 02 are you chelsea fans?
Danny {Ed018's Note - yes and I'm not gonna be happy being 2-0 up in the 86th minute and drawing to the 18th placed team. I understand we have young players new to the league. I never thought we'd win 5 or 6 trophies even though we have been very poor in all cups we have been in. I think if a supporter is unhappy they have the right to voice their opinion. I'm sure no matter what we will always stand behind Chelsea but Rafa needs to turn this around fast. There's to much talent in the squad to see the season continue on this path. And if I was Rafa after there first goal I'd taken out a mid or Torres and put JT in the back and seen the match out}

Agree2 Disagree4

Jt? To do what mate, overcrowd penalty area, invite reading to attack? The players let us down that's all it was. At the end of the day we need to get a world class dm in and bring josh and Kevin back from their loans and possibly a cb otherwise nothing will change, we'll struggle keeping the ball in our half under pressure when we're 2-0 up and without a dm we will continue to put cb and keeper under pressure and are far more likely to concede late goals. We've been lacking composure at the back that's all. Lets face it though not one thing is going to change til the summer so we have to step in and be the 12th player on that pitch every game, give the guys there a lift and hope for the best. Running a club isn't as simple as people think.
Danny

Agree3 Disagree5

I agree with Danny, you don't shut out a team for 84 mins and limit them to 1 or 2 chances and not feel that those same defenders can finish it.

After tonight's result against mighty Reading rumours are rife that Rafa will be sacked. After years of trying to buy history Roman Abramovich is expected to appoint Jimmy Wales as manager, to rewrite history instead.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

30 Jan 2013 23:26:07
another crap result we need to bring in at least one good player 2 moz someone like willian or ben arfa someone who can give us some width realy can't believe how poor we are at the moment

Believable4 Unbelievable0

30 Jan 2013 23:24:40
Completely controlled the game for 85 minutes, then a good goal by Reading to make it 2-1 then the second was Sunday league defending. i'm speechless, we had enough chances to win this game comfortably.

If Rafa does get sacked tonight or tmoz or soon who is there to replace him realistically mid season?

Been going Chelsea 40 years, must say the atmosphere over there is the worst I have ever experienced .

So much so, I'm not going anymore this season .

As much as I appreciate what Roman as one for us, I deplore ugly monster that Chelsea football club as become .

This whole situation of all our youngsters being out on loan and not playing the ones we do has become lunacy .

I thought a club in transition won, lost and drew games whilst blooding new players, oh no not Chelsea .

We okay our best team and still become a joke club .

The performances I season have lacked passion, commitment and heart .

Would like to see an eighth of the passion in these players that Wisey or even vinny jones used to show and okay with .

This team can't even take a decent corner kick, let alone put up a decent fight .

Chelsea's season RIP

Believable6 Unbelievable0

And yet we sit third, with one of the best away records in the bpl with our young talent with no leadership. The bpl must really be a crap league.

Agree2 Disagree3

Make the most of going, I can't as I live in Australia and have been to only 1 game but I love Chelsea and all I'm telling you is don't not go just because were not playing well or the atmosphere, I understand it's not the best of times but think of yourself as lucky!

Billy

Agree1 Disagree1

I was there last night. How on earthe we ddint win was, well beyond belief.
As much as I am happy with Rafa the players need to look at themselves.
Yes you could argue about the substitutions but Reading were not in the game an had what two chances.
The reality is too many players cut off, lost concentration, or whatever but everyone on the pitch as well as the manager shares the blame.

now! roman you have sacked managers for far far less! get rid of this clown we ant going to take this no more!

kevinCFC {Ed002's Note - You don't really understand why managers are left Kevin. Benitez is filling in thru the summer. It is a game of football. Suck it up and move on.}

My beloved Blues are no more we are a joke of a club nobody will come to manage us who would with a clueless board
We are the only club who has successful managers and then sack them wafer thin squad with 3 players who want to play the number 10 role no width whatsoever buy players when they are finished Torres and Sheva we have so many teenagers all over the world who are all 3 to 4 years away from being ready for the premier league quite clearly Ramirez and ivanovic cannot pass a ball never thought I would say this but we have missed Mikel somebody who can at least can hold onto the ball instead of passing to the opposition we will not buy anybody tomorrows the summer is a massive time for this club get it wrong again and we might never recover One would hope the owner and the board listen to what the fans think

I understood when Di Matteo started Ryan Bertrand against Bayern Munich, it was one of the few tactically astute things that he did whilst manager. Bayern had top quality wingers and he needed to protect his full backs - it was a shock to see, but it made sense. Benitez has started Bertrand against Brentford and Reading - neither of these teams posses quality on the wings and Bertrand offers very little, in an attacking sense, against poor defenses. I would rather one of our youth team wingers get a run out against these teams in Hazards absence than play Bertrand - its not doing him any favors putting him in the team out of position so the fans get on his back when he has a bad game!

Also - Yossi Benayoun! Rafa bringing him back from the wilderness - as one of todays headlines read! Really? I would have rather seen Marco Marin come on, and that's saying something because Marin has been simply awful this season. Yossi Benayoun! Can we not just release him and play a youth player - anyone from the under 14's up will do?!.

I wish I could metaphorically hibernate until the end of this season and awake to the knowledge that Chelsea qualified for next seasons Champions League, Rafa Benitez is no longer in charge and Michael Emenalo has received Abramovichs leathery boot out of the club.

Ed, bookmakers have installed Gus Poyet as the favourite to be Chelsea manager in the summer. Is he on the top of the list for the managerial position or is it just a punt by the bookmakers? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry.}

I can't get my head around the selection of Bertrand to play where he did. He's a LB and has no influence on the game at all from where he played. I'd see through it if a real top player played on the right of the opposition and we were trying to nulify the threat, but this was Reading with no real threaqt down that side. What is Benitiz at, its so negative but that's the way he is. At 2-0 up we should have went on and won easily but our play is so slow. Watching other teams and you see this but can anyone tell me the last time we played with pace opening a team up and a ball gets slid across the face of the goal for a tap in with the opposition stretched. We play so slow letting teams get into their defensive structure and at the top level this is so hard to break down. So frustarating watching the team. We used to be so solid at the back but just don't seem to keep clean sheets anymore. We really do need a different manager and are still a couple of players away from being a top team able to challenge.Utd are out of site in January.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Players play out of position because rafa can only play with one formation. If he changed his formation he could use players to play were they are affective.

My Rafa rant.

I would consider myself a massive football fan and a Chelsea fan so I hope you would be interested in what I have to say.

I go to the Bridge regularly, and lately the atmosphere has changed. I remember last year at Napoli, the atmosphere was buzzing. One of, if not the best night of my life. I would bet my house that atmosphere will never be the same under Rafa. It's a problem, and the scary thing is, we have more exciting players this year, more flair, and yet we are boring as **** most of the time. Rafa's first priority is not to lose the game, rather than to win the game. This is not the Chelsea way.
Under Rafa
Look at this - Chelsea 0-1 QPR
Chelsea 2-2 Southampton- We dropped a 2 goal lead.
Chelsea 0-0 Fulham -Embarrassing performance.
Brentford 2-2 Chelsea- speechless.
Reading 2-2 Chelsea - Lost a two goal lead.

My question, when does it stop? #RafaOut

A11

Agree2 Disagree1

You lost me mate, we can question and debate his sqaud selections and substitutions but when was the last time you saw him park the bus. In fact its looks to me that we the same attacking style weather home or away. Sometimes its too narrow but then again before we signed Ba imo we didn't have the personel suited for wide play.

Agree2 Disagree0

Why does he play bertrand lw? we need a third attacking midfielder like marin (who hasn't impressed but is better than bertrand playing ther) or benayoun, benayoun can play down the wing.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Ed, could you pass me Roman's email? I'll send our feelings and best regards in crisp russian language.

JG

Agree4 Disagree1

I can't see what you're going on about. What should Rafa have done differently to get the win. Was it his fault we blew at least 2 golden chances to put the game away? Is it his fault our back-up keeper is useless? Is it his fault 3 redding players were left unmarked in our penalty box with no Chelsea defender even on that side on a set play?(That's not how we were defending set plays up until that time

Agree1 Disagree1

JG why don't you enlighten us on how you would have secured that win.

Agree2 Disagree0

I sure may. Bring on Terry at 70 th minute instead of pulling Mata off for Benayoun.

Ivanovic is on a slump, move him to the right. Push Azpiliqueta up nad revert to 4-4-1-1.

Turnbull

Ivanovic-Terry-Cahill-Cole
Azpiliqueta-Ramires-Lampard-Bertrand
Oscar
Torres

That is if Mata was required to be taken off, due to the knock he has sustained. Line up a flat 4 in the middle and just do the triangles invited Reading to press using two lines of defence. At each interception play the good old long ball up front towards the pacy Oscar or Torres.

Carry on, if it ain't working wth Torres, bring on Ba and have him hold up the play. A big target man to be used the way we were used to while Drogs was here. Or should I remind anyone how we would have killed off a few minutes with Drogba at the corner flag working with his massive physique.

I can give you another five scenarios in a minute and believe me I would have won that game as I would have won another few, had I been given this squad and that opportunity.

And thank you for considering me.

So what was RDM sacked for again? Are we not 11 points worse off than when he was let go? Are we not conceding goals and just dumping games left and right? I mean we have conceded 4 goals in the last 4 days at the hands of Brentford and Reading, for crying out loud.

Not even angry. Not even depressed. Rolling my eyes in disbelief is an understatement. Roman, when you sack Rafa, make sure you sack the one who convinced you to hire him.

You outght to do the "Kenyon" for this "Scolari".

Who was it here saying that Rafa is not the worst chelsea's coach? I seriously want to know who was worse than him.

JG

Believable3 Unbelievable3

RDM, AVB, Grant {Ed018's Note - ha, Rafa is the worst by far. Gonna say the manager that led our team to the Champions League and Fa Cup trophies is worse than Rafa. Don't come back here. Do us that favor}

Ross Turnbull has a record for conceding the most goals in one season, and Chelsea went and signed him .

Great tactical substitutions, great tactics by the genius that is Rafa Benitez, Jesus wept !

Chelsea your a shambles from the board down to the team .

We are so lucky the teams below us are still below us, what is Rafa playing at not taking off Bertrand (who was awful) and taking off Mata and Torres, if he wants a defender on the pitch get Terry on.
He never changes formation either, he comes up with excuses all the time.
I may seem fickle I was willing to give him a chance but we have dropped waaaaay too many points now, not to mention League Cup, FA cup and CWC results.

Do the decent thing Rafa and resign before the next home game.

The board are just as much to blame, leaving us with this unbalanced squad from people who know nothing about football and appointing the one person who should never have been.

****in Joke! I don't like knee jerk reactions! but at the end of the season Rafa OBVIOUSLY needs to leave and we need another manager! we also need to bring players back of loan and also make some top quality buys and build a strong squad that gives depth to whoever the manager is! if some young/fringe players say I want to go out on loan for regular first team football then they need to be told "NO" because you are at Chelsea Football Club who will be challenging (hopefully) on all fronts and you will be needed, also if you do play and play well you will get your first team football! if you don't think your good enough to get a chance and keep yourself in the team then you ARE NOT Chelsea standard or have the belief in your ability!

Bit of class at the end of the half, but it doesn't take away the fact we are very slow in attack and nothing is coming from the left as Bertrand offers nothing on left wing, not his fault he gets picked though.

Ba has played many times out wide for Newcastle in the 2nd half of last season so it makes sense to play him regardless whether out wide or in the centre.

Why does Rafa insist on not changing things and rather wait till the team is panicking to make a change.

Eds are we still trying to bring another player in apart from butland. I think the squad we have is ok to finish top four which should and hopefully is our main objective., baring any major injuries. Do you see any departures, possibly malouda or marin on loan. If jose mourinho is available in the summer, do you see us trying to bring him back as manager. Lastly has there been any discussions regarding courtois being sold.(really hope not, as he already looks like he could replace cech now.)

It doesn't make sense to me, didn't Cech sign a new deal in the summer and now we want butland . I'm sad to say but I think we are going to lose one of the rising stars courtios, stupid decision

Does anyone know how long Cech is injured for?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Both Cech and Luiz a major doubt for the Newcastle game, both hoping to be fit for the Wigan game a week on saturday. DJ

What a terrible transfer window.. We got Ba in and Wallace but
Wallace isn't going to be playing a game for us for at least 18 months so are we going to be busy tomorrow... Fellaini coupe cavani .... I bet we get nobody personally.. Least then we can blame our lack of squad depth.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Unbelievable!! Only going to bring in BA this window. We are by no means guaranteed a top 4 finish, have no depth and we react this way. It's a roll of the dice..... Will be almost impossible to get the great striker and top players if we don't finish final 4! Players should play really hard for Benitez now that they know he is dead man walking for sure as club won't even get him anything. It's one big joke right now!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Mate we could buy Messi and Ronaldo and the (want to swear but can't) BIG BIG bloke will still mess our season up!! Until we get a new manager (hopefully Jose) don't expect any major signings, unless Jose has told him through them tx messages they send each other! DJ

More like you lot could buy messi and ronaldo and something would still be wrong according too your fickle fans

I'm no Benitez fan but he has made a strong point about the limitation of the current squad. The board brought him in and now don't seem to back him. Champions League position is far from certain (50:50 at best) unless we have a good back-up goalkeeper, a physical presence in midfield and another striker. The supporters have known this all season, the manger has stressed the same, but the board know best! We'll see - but who carries the can when we don't make top four! Watch Arsenal and Spurs in the next 24 hrs - bet they strengthen.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

The squad is more than strong enough to get a a spot in top4 and especially now were we are out of every other competition, its up to Benitez to stop sucking and start coaching the team decently he has been the worst manager at chelsea in the abra era so far.

Agree1 Disagree2

Total b*******. Benitez is a master of excuses. He always finds a reason why this or that is to blame, but definitely never himself.

We played 67 or 68 games last season with same amount of personel. We were shorthanded - yes. But we had spirit, belief and support from the fans. We won FA and CL.

We are about to play 71 game if we advance to both FA and EL finals, which I find impossible. The only difference wirh last year is AFCoN. That's two players out for a month.

What backing do want to make on the last day of transfer? You sincerily want to back someone who if we are winning is claiming he made us play better and if we are loosing it is the squad, the fixtures, bad weather, sour fans. Forget it.

It is all about Benitez to Benitez. I bet we would finish in top 4 with Lamps as manager. It's just not worth the fuss.

No world class player available - no players in. It should be our strategy.

Benitez has not been the worst manager since Roman, just the most hated. Hopefully he can get us at least 3rd place and move on, don't need any C/L qualifiers we'll leave that for Arsenal. Kenny

Agree1 Disagree1

Are you for real Kenny!! Stats don't lie! Rafa by far the worst manager we've had and we've not even played man united or Spurs! RDM managed against every top team going! Including TOP CL sides like Juve and Shakta. Rafa has only won against 1 LDN rival and his team talk at half time nearly screwed that up for us! Every manager we've had since the Roman era have been sacked with a far better record than Rafa!! FACT!!! DJ

Agree0 Disagree1

Benitez's win percentage is 2nd lowest in abrams managers. only avb had lower

goalkeeping (like wicketkeeping in cricket) is very specalized position. currently we have crap keeper like turnbull. hilario is a good keeper but he has no long term future. metaj delac hardly plays on loan, so nothing can be said for him. blackman is young. so a move for butland seems a good thing. so next season we can have cech, coutoius & butland as 3 keepers. walker & blackman on loan.

Kings xi
Butland like Blackman is 19 years old the difference is that Butland has become first choice regular in a Championship team. I am not sure that Butland is any better keeper than Blackman.
Any keeper we sign (or bring back from loan) will probably have to accept that for as long as Cech is around then probably they will be second choice so I doubt that we will see Coutoius back as long as Cech remains at the club.

Jack Butland has turned down a move to Chelsea because he wants regular first team football.
It's nice to see a young footballer not cashing in like most of them do, especially with the mess Birmingham are in.
We've got Courtious who is the real deal anyway.

Its painfully obvious that Chelsea's board and Abramovic have no faith in Benitez and have just about given up on this season just like it was last season. A total lack of activity in the January transfer market rings bells of last year with AVB who was promised money to spend and turn things around yet he got nothing and was sacked a month or two later. Is there any appeal left for players to join us anymore? Looks like we have tried to build for the future a bit too fast, got too many players out on loan who might be looking back and thinking they made a mistake. Tomorrow night will show how much Roman has faith in this season. Scott M.

Hello Ed002, tv are reporting that Rafa (the fat controller) Benitez job is hanging by a thread.

Surely this is just tv using the power of the media to make us look like we don't know what we are doing again!!
ED002 - do you know if Rafa is in trouble or is it bulls*#t?

John W

Do we need the media to show us this, its obvious.

Not sure how his job can be 'hanging by a thread' when he's only in as an interim manager anyway. Who else are we going to get with less than half the season remaining? Replacing now would make us look even more of a laughing stock.
