Hi ed. This £50m loss for 2013 - does this affect our transfer plans? You've mentioned a number of players we're interested in, but will this now change after these figures?

{Ed002's Note - This is not new news. It changes nothing.}

Can somebody tell me, why are all our players going on loan at Vitesse Arnhem? Are they Roman's second club? Is that helpful to the club in any way at all?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea agreed the relationship with the previous Vitesse Arnhem owner Merab Jordania. It has worked well and will continue until rules disallow it.}

'our players'? I thought you were a liverpool fan?

Ed as it looks like ba is off to west ham surely we got something lined up or are we going to shoot ourselves in the foot again

{Ed002's Note - Ba was always expected to move.}

Hi Ed, hope 2014's been treating you well.
I just had a question about Bertrand Traoré. Will the club look to loan him out for the rest of the season or will he play with the reserves and perhaps occasionally with the 1st team? IMHO he should be given a couple of games with the 1st team because he is that good. I'd like to see him get some minutes against Derby to be honest.
Anyway, cheers Ed. Have a good one.

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn't think so.}

Guess I've got my answer. Going on loan to Vitesse. Hopefully he can settle in like Piazon did and play a lot of minutes. I certainly think he's got the talent to start most games in Eredivisie.

Hey ed was reading earlier that the french courts have upheld there 75% tax on high salary's could this mean we could see some fire sales similar to what happened at Anzi?

Roll on the Falcao rumours once again

cheers mate and happy new year all the best.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

PSG and Monaco aren't going to feel the implications.

Hey ed02, whilst I understand that you don't like discussing money, I've been hearing that we'd let Mata go for as little as £12.5m. Surely we'd never accept such a low amount? £25-30m seems more accurate. Any thoughts? Thanks =]

{Ed002's Note - Someone is teasing you.}

Mata won't be cheaper than 40£. Is there an interest, yes.
Maybe, just maybe JM might use Mata to bring Rooney as player exchange.
At the moment Chelsea is trying to sign Guarin,, Matic and Shaw and to sell DeBruyne, Essien and Ba.

I love Mata, and Jose need to use him in ACM position as he is not a winger :) We all know what mata can do when he is playing in ACM. For me Mata is a Legend. I would totally hate seeing him go.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather keep mata than UTD have his quality. If use mata for exchange only for PSG and one of those players or maybe Madrid as Jose likes kderia ( I know his injured ) or modric who he likes. Gutted for mata but as a team this year were better with the pace wide and Oscar has been unreal so hard for him

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are fans moaning bout mata for! Ok he is class but look how well we doing with out him. Jose knows best and he simply doesn't fit in the system we playing! Look at the bigger picture like being 11pts better off than we were last season at this time instead of worrying bout 1 player! Oscar has more enough stepped up to the mark in mata role. Team looks better with out mata in it to be honest

Agree0 Disagree0

When was the last time Mata played centrally? Even yesterday he put Mata on wing when Oscar wasn't playing? Believe me by selling him we will make a huge mistake as he is world class and anyone who will get him will laugh at our face!

Agree0 Disagree0

I had thought so ed. I think I read it in a paper (which I realise aren't credible sources) but it did irritate me.

As far as the situation with Mata, I kinda feel like he's been underplayed. He doesn't quite fit into the system the way JMou wants to play but he never seems to be played as a #10. Even when he started against Soton, he played on the wing with Hazard at #10.

Mata has been fantastic for us for two years but if we look back, there was always a clear division been attack and defence, which was why we always defended deep.(None of the Mazacar trio really helped out defence) and that's perhaps why Mata was so great. With JMou trying to bridge that gap and make us more defensively sound we can't afford players that don't track back.

If we had better defensive CM's then I could see Mata returning to the starting line up. Til that point or until he ups his defensive side, he'll be on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

With regards to Pinky. We might be better without Mata in the current system we play but I find it hard to discount a player who had 25 goals and 35 assists last season.

This season he's being asked to track back and tackle, not to mention being played as a winger when last year he proved he's at his best at #10 role. That combined with the fact that he hasn't played much (due to JMou favouring better defensive players) means he isn't up to match fitness and hasn't been in the best of form.

As I said in another post, if we had better defensive CM's, we could accommodate Mata. Players like him and Ozil are only as good as they are because they don't have to worry about the defensive side of the game

I made my point a couple of days ago that I thought Mata would leave by the end of January; yesterday only served to confirm that feeling.

It would give me no pleasure whatsoever to see him leave but the funds raised, and wages cleared, could be better spent elsewhere - a striker for instance.

I read somewhere in the German press that on 02/01/14 (today) Lewandowski would finally confirm for 100% that he is joining Bayern Munich in the summer; be interesting to see if this materialises.
