Why do we need to look abroad for talent all the time,let's take some talented players from the lesser teams in the prem:
Dembele from fulham
Sessengon? From Sunderland
Demba ba newcastle
Agbonlahor villa for his pace,wot we are short of.
Adam Johnson city
Ben arfa Newcastle
Moses Wigan
Watson Wigan
Hoillett Blackburn
It's not about getting the best names around,it's getting hungry players who want to play.Dont really see any huge transfer fees or wages needed for the above.Too many at our club willing to sit back and take money(kalou,mikel,malouda to name a few)

I like this post. You're right, we don't have to look abroad all the time at players like Krasic, Hulk, etc. We should spend £25 mil and we could get 2 of either Sessegnon, Dembele, Moses, Hoilett, and maybe, although this season he hasn't been great, Nzogbia. They would be on relatively small wages in comparison, have shown they can be dangerous in the Premiership, and would relish the chance to play for us. They wouldn't have to be starters but as back up they would be more than adequate. And you're right, i would have them over Malouda and Kalou any day. Really like this post, going to tell the missus about it.

I agree with you on some of the names especially demba ba but we cannot sign him because his insurance is too high where he has a dodgy knee so we wouldnt risk it.

I agree with this post, I've saying Hoilett for months but yet to find many people who agree with me. Dembele and Sessegnon are also two top quality players available for around 10-15 million and maybe they aren't world class but have potential and we know what they can do in this league. Top post mate.

Fairly decent post but Ben Watson, seriously? whenever i see him play he just looks like a very average player in my opinion.

We looked at sessengon a couple of years ago and decided against it, looks quality now though. The same goes for Victor moses, when he was playing in the championship we seemed keen.

With Tomas Kalas & Sam Hutchinson who can play RB/CB and Nathaniel Chabolah & Nathan Ake who are CB we have some real potential talent in the defence. Do you see any of these players being moved into the 1st team squad next year. With the likes of Paulo Feriera and Jose Bosingwa likely leaving do you think they will be replaced with purchases or 1 or a combination of these boys given the chance to fill those positions. We have Midfield and attacking wing positions that need adressing ASAP and that will likely cost us alot of money with players such as Hazard, Gotze and cavani being mentioned, i would love to give these lads a chance and also saved the club transfer money. Nathan Ake is still very young and Tomas kalas is on loan atm but there other 2 lads i would love to be given a chance.

Totally Agree mate. They all look like real possibilities for the future. Just hope they don't turn out to be like Mancienne, i honestly thought a few years ago he was going to a regular for Chelsea and England by now the way he developed. Ake and Chalobah are the ones to watch out for i think.

Sam huthinson may become a bench player and kalas but chabolah and ake are to young for 1st team games, i reckon next year they will play in the fa cup and carling cup aand maybe get odd premier league games then maybe the season after feature more in the premier league

I could see Chalobah having some part in the Portsmouth game same with hutchinson.

4th spot guys! Lets keep it now! Question for you all - What results would you take from Citeh v Scousers and Mancs v Toon? Personally me i'd take Citeh win and Toon win, keeps Scousers 3 points behind us and its always nice to see Mancs lose.

P.S. If you watched the game, what do you reckon to Dembele? Everytime i see him play he looks better and better, always creating chances. I'd have him here any day of the week

I didn't watch the game, but i was told Bosingwa played a really bad game. How was he 2day ?
And who do you believe was our worst midfielder 2day on the pitch ? just asking :)

Meireles was pretty bad today. Gave a lot of passes away, he seems to have gone into safety mode where he isn't trying any spectacular passes now, yet he is still giving a lot away? Lamps was his usual self, too slow and didn't do a lot, but at the end of the day he got the winner. Romeu and Ramires quality.

I watched the game on the net and seriously can not believe some of these posts i am reading, the only good thing about today was we got three points, we had no creativity, torres has lost his pace he is just running into blind alleys, he is a 50 million pound player, he should not be giving average performances after a year at the club, raul keeps giving the ball away, AVB needs to stop being so stubborn and trying things that do not work, we will fall out of 4th soon and then buying in the summer becomes harder, i love my team and thats why i rant like this but we seriously need to stop living on players reputations and give the youth a chance or swallow our pride and say sorry FERNANDO its not working, same with RAUL and LUIZ, before we know it were going to be falling well behind.

Cole and lampard have proven to be loyal players over the years and fair enough are not playing great now, but if we can see it, why cant our manager?? so it will stop when AVB changes it, any manager in the world can do well with money, its what they do without the money and when people are not performing that makes them great, i can assure you SAF Would not be playing torres/lampard/cole/luiz with these perfomances!!

Why so negative? If you watched the game which it would seem you didn't, you would have seen that Nando was our best player today, he won the corner with good play to set up our first goal and then played a fantastic through ball to Cole for our 2nd. We all get it wrong, i wanted Josh to come on for Lamps but then he goes and scores the winner and i'm proved wrong, most of us would have wanted Mata to stay on the pitch and take Lamps off because he didn't do anything until his goal. But AVB made the right decision this time. Stop being so negative and enjoy the fact we got 3 points! Admit you're wrong and that the problem isn't Luiz, Nando or Raul but in fact the deadwood. Needless to say i don't agree with anything you said.

Thats fine if you dont agree and i have read your previous posts and it seems to me you are one of the fans with the blinkers on, you are always talking about torres is going to be amazing when hes confident, wake up and smell it, fernando is not working out, he was poor at liverpool for his last year and has not improved at all, if your happy for the likes of him and luiz to keep playing in our team then i am glad you have no input on team selections!

I never said Torres was going to be amazing when he gets his confident back, but i can guarantee you one thing, he will be a hell of a lot better than Drogba. I think his confidence is shot to pieces, personally i think IF we can get that back then we have one of the best strikers in the world, you obviously don't and think that he is past it, fair enough i can see why, i just don't agree.

How would you sum us up? Just curious because i'm baffled at your inability to be positive and get behind your team instead of moaning? You seem like someone who can not see the bigger picture when you say we should drop Luiz. Why? Because hes in his early 20's, playing for one of the best teams in Europe, scoring goals against United and City, but making mistakes? How will he learn if people like you think he should never play for Chelsea because he makes a few mistakes? If you watched the game against QPR you would have seen a young guy make a mistake and cost us a goal, he then spent the next 80 minutes when we had 9 men battling for everything and running around like a headless chicken trying to get a goal for us, that's the type of player i want at Chelsea, someone who will die for the cause, he has proved enough to start every week for me. I'll take the mistakes. I think you should take off the blinkers and see the bigger picture Sir.

TORRES is gonna come good his performance today was top notch apart from the fact that he didnt score but surely he will in the coming weeks while drogba is away and everyone who doubted him will have to eat some humple pie. COME ON CHELS!!

About time we had something to cheer! First Half we were poor, second half we were good, created lots of chances, Romeu and Nando different class. Time to build on this now, positive result, and its even nicer that we did it in the last 2 mins. Transfer window just open and we've started 2012 with a win. Come on Chels lets kick on from here and bring a few new faces in now. Don't want to here any negative posts about how its only Wolves either, a wins a win, City lose to Sunderland and United lose to Blackburn so lets take the 3 points and enjoy it. Now lets hope Fulham do us a favour so we can get that 4th spot back to start 2012 with.

My opinion of AVB is:
Team selection is bad,
Tactics are even worse,
The man also bans current players from training.
He also bans reserve & youth team players from mixing with first teamers.
The fiirst team even take anelka out, even though, they were told not to.
He has not acheived anything as a manager or player & is not respected by the squad.
Get this person out now, before we end up as a mid table side.

Wasteman. AVB is class. Would you rather someone like mark Hughes?

Original poster needs to stop reading the sun newspaper and start dealing in facts. The poor bloke's only been in the job 5 months and is trying to totally change the stlye of play with the same old players , judge him when he's signed the players HE wants. Just hoping for 4th at end of season and AVB to be given the money for 3/4 players then I'll pass judgement on weather he's out of his depth or not.

The problem with most of the people who post on here is they wernt fans before romans billions and seem to belive we have a god given right to win each game.

No i dont expect us to win every game, only a person would expect a team to never lose, yeah i dont like losing but its part of football, so if you dont like it f*** off and follow some other sport.

Totally agree with the original poster, avb is out of his depth. The person daily mirror reader, wants avb to spend £150 million, then judge him, he's already been judged & found wanting, use your brain person & judge him on what he's done so far & thats nothing.

5 months in the job with a team that was awful last season. What did you expect him to do by now if hes done 'nothing'? Win a trophy or be challenging for the title? That was never gonna happen so soon. Give the guy a chance. Hes made mistakes but without him we wouldn't have Romeu, Sturridge (playing regularly) or Mata, our 3 best players this season so far. And Meireles, another player he brought in who has been doing well until the last few games. I do not know what you expected from him after 5 months? Can you explain please?

Glad to see Torres and Mata together. Believe Sturridge needs the rest. (only a kid and still a lot to learn, bit selfish) Only concern in the team is there looks like a real lack of pace. Hoping we can get a victory but the way we have been going it is hope no real confidence

DEFENSE
Cole - Needs to concentrate
Terry - Same too, he needs to improve passing
Ivanovic - Doing good but he is injured now
Alex - Good player with small chances of playing
Luiz - He has done a nice job so far
Bosingwa - He is good, even as CB
Ferreira - Too old with small chances of playing games
Bertrand - I think he needs a loan
SOLUTION: Bring in Gary Cahill and A. Perreira(Porto) and sell Alex and Ferreira.
MIDFIELD
Essien - Injured, can't wait to see him play
Mikel - Injured too
Romeu - our 3rd DMF and is playing good
Lampard - He is getting old, and he is getting out of shape
Meireles - Nice job for now
Ramires - Fantastic player, a real Brazillian
Josh MC - Young player with a lot of skills, needs to go on a loan this month
SOLUTION: Bring in someone like Modric or Pastore or Ozil, someone creative.
FORWARD:
Malouda - Awesome player without a form and, fair to say, he got kicked out of his positions since Mata arrived.
Mata - He is awesome but he needs to drible a little bit
Torres - no comment
Drogba - He's back, the real deal
Anelka - Looks like he is living to Shangai, when I was watching Chelsea vs. Tottenham commentator said that he agreed a deal with this club. And his pay is one like in Chelsea
Lukaku - Boas looked for him for whole summer and now what!? At least send him on loan so he can play.
Sturridge - For now, BEST PLAYER in Chelsea
SOLUTION: Sell Anelka and Torres. Bring in Higuain or Cavani. Offer Torres to Milan as a trade for Pato

AVB is the next best thing to mourinho. Chasing him away and replacing him with hiddink will not change a thing. Also in Portugal there is two main teams which are Porto and benfica whereas that's not the case in england. So if you expected him to win every competition then you are deluded.
