Yes though Spurs very lucky indeed in first half. could have been two or three behind and then a v different match. Their Jan signing did well.

I was thinking the same watching the match - so many times under Jose when we were under the cosh but still managed to win. 2 cup finals coming up - win at home to Man U and Spurs and we should be top 4.

You say that but we’ll probably beat Man U and spurs then lose 2 stupid games where a team parks the bus and it’s suddenly all to play for again.

I think Alan Shearer's words about Tammy Abraham are true.
[ALAN SHEARER'S WORDS ABOUT TAMMY ABRAHAM-
"A lot of the time I listen to Lampard after games and he says that Chelsea are not killing teams off. This is not a criticism of Abraham because I am a huge fan of his. "

"He has got a massive future in the game and he's scored 13 league goals this season already, which is a very good return. "

"There was a very good run from him and Pedro didn't play him in. You could then see the anger in him and he had his arms up in the air and so he should do because that ball should have gone into him. "

"There was a moment when Reece James put the ball in the box and he (Tammy) had to be in control of that situation. He shouldn't have let Jonny Evans get there first. "

"He (Tammy) provided another good run and he needed to go across Soyuncu and not come back inside. He needed more confidence to go on his left foot. "

"It's a really difficult role to play even in his (Tammy) first season in the Premier League like he is. Please don't take that as a criticism as we are fans of him. But to get to that next level, those are the bits that he needs to improve on. "].

Yes obinna 123 I though Shearer's comments spot on and of course coming from one of the best strikers of EPL era.

Ed reports in spain saying willian won't sign a new contract and is close to agreeing to join Barcelona when his contract runs out any truth thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It is true that there is no agreement over the length of the contract at this time but he and his family are happy in the south and don't wish to leave.}

Bugger was hoping the opposite.

That is annoying, why give him a new deal when he's 31 and not that good, just let him leave and go to another london club if he wants.

Hi all been a while between drinks but I've been reading with great interest.

Firstly disappointed we didn't get any reinforcements in Jan but not overly surprised given clubs don't want to sell. Ultimately there aren't many moves that we could hand on heart say we needed that player or you could feel like they would have genuinely improved our squad and/ or had a tangible impact on the rest of season without sipping into the funds needed to get our primary targets in the summer. Further this 2 week break means the team can rest and hopefully we get pulisic back which will further help with some of the burden.

Recently I've read a lot of negativity towards some players and Lampard, some of whom were being hailed as the next coming of Drogba, Lampard etc. I think we need to take stock of the situation we have a rookie manager in his first season of managing in the EPL and he is still learning. We have a number of players under the age of 23 who are also in their first season at this level many of whom are leading a number of the stat charts in the division. Yes they're struggling with consistency but many of them are also struggling with the demands of the competing in multiple competitions and the wear on their bodies.

We're in 4th at the moment still in the FA Cup and the last 16 of the champions league, know I'm a realist and I don't expect us to get too much further but maybe this will be the compromise we need to make to give the players some rest and get top 4 and launch properly next season with the players having a full season under their belt and hopefully some WC reinforcements to take some of the burden off them to deliver week in week out.

Tldr let's keep positive and get behind the team to get them home for the rest of the season!
